What if we roll a 1 or a 2 on our reroll, keep it because it's meant to be?
Also, because of the tweak to the feat, I won't be taking a fighter level, just sticking Rogue and using the Rogue Trick for the Combat Feat.
EDIT: Also, did Elx just go from being a Pally to a Barb? Bipolar PC!

Okay, Lex, you can take the 15 minutes to memorize now. But you can, of course learn new spells later on that day. So we will just say you memorized another spell while they were tying up and waiting for the thugs to wake up.
El: Yes, exactly that.
Llyr: No, keep rolling until you get something higher than a two. Also, sounds fine.

I must say I think it's too powerful, but I like it.
1d12 ⇒ 5 Just joking, I'm a fighter.
1d10 ⇒ 2 I don't want you!
1d10 ⇒ 7 Better, were I a paladin.
1d8 ⇒ 5 But maybe I'm a cleric!
1d6 ⇒ 6 Tanker sorcerer!

As long as the GM knows what you are, it's no issue of mine. I wonder if I could ever get a GM to allow me to play a MPD character with 2 or 3 totally different classes, and a roll of the dice determine which one I am today.

Karyne Morozov |

4HP as the average, for me! Man does the sorc get jack and crap at 2, but at least it's one step closer to 3...where I get tons of stuff.

Elxurian |

We just hope you get better Katsune. We appreciate you using the time GMing and think you're doing a great job, so you should not worry with us for a few days and get better. There are some GMs who don't even say what's going on, and keep the players lost, but you had informed us of everything that's happening, so don't worry and focus on your recovery.

I echo my schizophrenic comrade. Focus on getting better, that's the #1 priority. This is a game to be played for fun, don't add to your stress by worrying over the fact you haven't posted for a day.

Karyne Morozov |

Aw man, you were just sick and now you are going to a con? You are going to bring home concrud and we are going to lose you again :(

Nev Morvinus |

Just got back yesterday. Whispers is at school atm but will try to get on later this evening. And it was a magician's convention, so no money to be won, sadly. Got some neat card tricks, though. :-)

Nev Morvinus |

Whispers is swamped with school and is trying not to work herself to death. Updates will be made on the weekend but will otherwise be slower than they've been.

Whispers Through The Snow |

YEah Im going to put this on hiatus until next weekend. Crazy final weeks of final semester/sickness that never leaves me because Im its favored enemy is keeping me from being able to post. I will try to post, but I cant make any guarantees. After the GRE we will see. Again guys, I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry that it is taking me so long, and if it werent for my head feeling like its about to splode all over Nev's nice futon, Id have started combat yesterday.
I am not abandoning you guys! <3

Grimkell son of Ogmundr |

Previous post is mine by the way, just forgot to switch to Grimkell.
Also, I don't know if any of you has seen the advanced classes playtest, but one of them is the skald. I was wondering whether it would be possible to switch Grimkell to that. I haven't decided what fits Grimkell better yet, so unsure as to whether I would do. I was just curious to have your opinion. I understand if you do not agree Whispers. Also, I would like to have everyone's opinion on the matter.

Llyr the Lush |

As far as switching Grimkell, that’s GM’s choice, doesn’t matter to me.
As far as the classes go, I’m not a big fan of many of them. For the most part they tread too close to current classes for my liking. Using Rogue as the example, since I’m playing one here: we don’t need the basic rogue, the reflavored rogue (ninja), the killy rogue (slayer), and the smart rogue (investigator). All of those extra classes could be built fairly similarly off the basic rogue. Yes, there are a few variances and nuances that are gained/lost, but I don’t feel they are sufficient to warrant so many new classes.
Then there is Warpriest. I like warpriest on its own, it’s a combat priest! But oh wait, we already have an archetype that does something similar, then there is Paladin, and Inquisitor, and let’s not forget the militant priests and oracles…
I was concerned that this would just be another tool for munchkins to makes the ZOMG UBER PWN characters, and it feels like I am right. I plan to ban these classes in my home games until I see convincing reasons that they actually provide something not otherwise provided to a game.

Grimkell son of Ogmundr |

I guess it really depends on the players. From my point of view, if a player is trying to munchinize is character, than these classes are the way to go (saddly enough). However, for someone who has a character concept that fits better with these classes, I do not mind them using them.
As an exemple, I wanted to create a character a few years ago that was a raging warrior possessed by an evil spirit. I was never really able to create him in a satisfactory manner, however, the blood rager seems perfect for that.
So, right now, I am pondering whether Grimkell's way of life is more in line with the Skald archetype of the Skald advanced class.
As I said, truly depends on the goal of the player.
And my choice will also depend on the group. I don't want people to feel as though Grimkell changes, I really want to get a better feel for him.

Nev Morvinus |

At work now, but I'll look over the playtest when I get home. I remember being interested in the Arcanist and Swashbuckler.

Elxurian |

In my opinion too many classes begin to bother people a little, and you see too many options for power games to play with (like they did in 3.5) while some other classes are just 'left behind' and no one plays with them.
But at the same time I have given up playing in some other games cause I can't find a good class to play with, and I've dipped in several of them already, while I just DON'T WANT to play a cavalier or a druid. So I'll be taking a look to see what does the new classes provide...
