Shuriken are considered ammunition so that reduces the value considerably. You only add 6gp for each MW shuriken. A normal shuriken is 5 for 1gp or 2sp each.

So you have seen what is available for sale in Ravengro (a small town). You also each have a reward of 100PP (1,000 GP) waiting for you in Lepidstadt with Embreth Daramid when you return the borrowed tomes from the Professor's collection.

You could place an order for items (to purchase or craft) not currently available in Ravengrow with a 75% deposit and then pick them up in Lepidstadt when you pay the remaining 25%. Luramin Taigh and Quess Yearburn (principle partners of 'The Silk Purse' moneylenders) will arrainge for just such a transaction for a 5% handling fee (10% less than their usual 15% charge).

You can also wait for items to be crafted by the local smiths.

A CLW wand would probably be a better deal assuming we can order one.


You can get items up to that 5,000 GP limit in Ravengrow, you will just have to wait a few months for them to be shipped in. The idea is that the listed items are available today. If you want to get something not on that list you will have to wait and pay the handling for it (5% either way). Think of it like a mail order but REALLY slow and expensive.

Vraxel's interpretation is correct, but its for setting up random towns. In this case, the adventure already sets out what's in Ravengrow.

The church of Pharasma can help you with CLW wands and yes, you would be better off ordering multiple CLW v the CMW.


So for clarity-

If there is something you want to purchase (up to 5,000 GP) that is not on the listed items you can order it and either:

1. Wait 2-3 months for it to arrive in Ravengrow.
2. Pick it up in Lepidstadt when you go to drop off the books and pick up your 100PP (each).

Either way it will cost you book +5%.

When you show Jorfa the Dwarf (the local forge master) the hammer, her face lights up with a huge grin. She offers to have either a +1 great axe ready for you when you reach Lepidstadt or give you that amount in gold in exchange for the hammer. She tells you that what you didn't notice about the hammer is that it is perfectly weighted and magically endowed with the ability to significantly aid in smithing skill checks.

How far is it?

The locals tell you that it's about 100 miles. The old Mountain Road is generally regarded as the best route, and follows the SE foothills of the Tusk Mountains. Although nor journey through Ustalav is without risk, the Mountain Road is usually safest and passes through the towns of Tamrivena and Coutaud before following the Lesser Moutray River up to Lepidstadt.

Most of us got magic items from the adventure, like I got a +1 dagger. Randtam got a wand and spellbook. Alamin got a magic weapon or two. Uuranx didn't get much so I say keep your full portion of treasure and trade the hammer for the magic axe.

I think I confused this with a scroll. When you read a scroll the spell disappears...right? But when transferring from book to book the spells stay? So I could sell this for the price quoted earlier?

Negative. Scribing from the book to a book is just like scribing from a scroll to a book. The magic transfers rendering the original document valueless.

So I did not scibe scroll or copy comprehend languages or mage armor because I already have those spells. Do I have to copy entire book or be able to pick.

My question is...are there two spells still left in the book since I already possesed the spells. Or do I get them twice?

Other than thAt I think I am ready to move on.

Got it. Those two spells will remain in the book and you can sell it for 300GP to the church of Pharasma as they will conduct a special ceremony to celebrate the final passing of the Splatter Man.

Like the amulet choice, looked at it myself, but thought playing the character I am I need to be Handy first.

All 3 will need to be picked up in Lepidstadt unless the party plans to wait a few months for them to ship here in Ravengrow
