"Charter is ours, and charter comes with duties. The kobold tribe will certainly follow the law, as long as our interests are protected."

Ratfolk Human Warpriest 1 - Summoner 1

Colvin stands straight, "My people will honor the Charters as well. I and my friends have already proven we can defend the Lands by defeating the Bandits. Oleg, we are you best hope".

Colvin looks at his Mite and Goblin companion gesturing for them to say something as well.

Gobbies, too. We fight common enemies, not nice peoples we agrees with.

Gufi gives a very exaggerated salute to no one in particular.

We patrol real good!

He sniffs the air, catching a whiff of something.

Somebody cooking? I give you coppers for food! Gufi tired of trail food.

Svetlana: "Oleg do not make our guests stand at the gate, I can tell they smell the pies cooling on the table."

Oleg opening the gate "Of course come in friends."

M Goblin Unchained Rogue 1/Admixture Evoker 1 | HP: 18/18| AC: 18 (16 T, 13 FF) | CMB: -2, CMD: 13 | F: +1, R: +7, W: +0 | Init: +5 | Perc: +3

Pies? What's this "pies?" I give you coppers for pies!

Ratfolk Human Warpriest 1 - Summoner 1

Colvin banishes his Eidolon to the nether planes to rest and recuperate.

"Gufi, pies are delicious I have stolen, er... borrowed, um er... smelled many pies in the past made from, eh um er... by.. humans!"

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Svetlana:

"Today I have cherry, apple, and pecan pies."

The cherry pie is a bright red and looks like blood to those unused to such things as pies. But the buttery blend of sweet and tart makes the pie warm and wonderful....

The apple pie is full of fruit and bubbling brown sugar and a bite of spice, cinnamon you think.

The pecan pie has a solidified syrup base and the crunchy glazed nuts atop....

"So how is it?" asks Svetlana.....

Oleg comes by and whispers to you while Svetlana appears to be cutting potatoes for breakfast or dinner.....

Oleg whispering "Did you perchance come across a ring, you see it is my wedding ring and as you can see it was stolen from my lovely bride."

M Goblin Unchained Rogue 1/Admixture Evoker 1 | HP: 18/18| AC: 18 (16 T, 13 FF) | CMB: -2, CMD: 13 | F: +1, R: +7, W: +0 | Init: +5 | Perc: +3

Gufi eats the pie with gusto. S'good, he quips between hungry bites.

Gufi looks at his companions, trying to remember who had the ring, but he couldn't.

So, he grabs some more pie.

Retired, Kobold

Kel regards the human man curiously. "How do we know these things are yours? We killed those who took them, they ran away; we caught them, we brought them here. That would make them ours, yes?"

Soggy is sniffing the pies, glancing around for his chance to sneak in a lick.

Oleg: "Those men were bandits, men who rob from others. This is my stockroom as you can see it is a storage place for supplies, look at my wife's finger, you can see where her ring was, for robbers to rob they must find someone to rob, and locally there is no one else. In a society kobold the honest thing to do is to return the stolen thing and receive a reward!"

"Look here I have posted 100 gold reward for my wife's ring, though it is worth less than that. Surely we can do business together."

Retired, Kobold

"Fair enough. But what of the horses? Horse worth more than ring, and we have many horses now. Tribes need fed; horse make good dinner."

Oleg pauses: "Humans tend to use horses for riding, and these you have are already trained for such a task, humans usually use cattle or goats for food as neither of those animals are good for riding. I can stable and sell the horses, would you want me to request cattle or a herd of goats be driven here for livestock to feed your hungry?"

"A single horse is worth about twice its weight in cow, goat, pig, and even chickens."

Svetlana sets three more pies down...
"Now go slower fellows, this is not an eating contest."
she notices her finger and the place where her ring used to be around her finger....

Mite Cleric of The One Below 2; 25/25 hp

Backing up At the discussion of whether the tribes will honor the charter, Quuroog nods vigorously, but she is too shy to say more.

When Oleg mentions the ring, she looks over at Colvin. "Nice lady. Pretty you found is her pretty," she whispers.

The pies fascinate her. They are much more flavorful than the bland diet she is used to. The cherry tartness is almost too much and she closes her eyes and shivers with every bite - but she puts a fork in anyone trying to take it away.

Ratfolk Human Warpriest 1 - Summoner 1

Colvin pulls his hand out of a pie and into his pocket, he hands the sticky ring over to Oleg.

"Good faith have we by handing this back to you.

Kel is right we paid in blood for our victory over the bandit. We will trade fair for what we find in horses for livestock to feed our peoples".

Colvin runs down the list of what they found after all of the bandits were defeated to see what was robbed from Oleg and what truly belonged to the Bandits.

M Goblin Unchained Rogue 1/Admixture Evoker 1 | HP: 18/18| AC: 18 (16 T, 13 FF) | CMB: -2, CMD: 13 | F: +1, R: +7, W: +0 | Init: +5 | Perc: +3

Gufi starts to put it all together. He hadn't thought about it much.

Oh, her ring. I see... Makes sense now.

He's very proud to understand something.

Svetlana "You are all very brave. I think your reward for my ring shall be pies. Evertime you return here or the chiefs gather I shall bake you pies.....unless what else do you like?"

Oleg snorts knowing his wife needs no reasons nor excuses to bake...

Retired, Kobold

Kel glances to Oleg as Svetlana mentions pies as a reward, and with a flat look, turns between his comrades before addressing the humans.

"I speak not for tribes, nor do I speak for companions. But reward is ours, not tribes. If you have been robbed, you have little left, yes? I would not take what you have and close down this place."

"Do you have paper and ink? I would draw up contract between us; we will give you horses back. We will give you your ring back. In return, you would provide tribes with cattle, and chicken; we do not eat these much, they should be happy."

"We would also return your belongings, though we did consume some during the attack. In exchange, I would like us to browse your goods, and to take what we need; it seems only fair, as we truly have no obligation to return these to you."

"You are nice humans, you treat us with respect, and do not try to kill us. I would like to continue to access your shop; the tribes are far from here, and it is nice to have a place to stay. Does this seem fair?"

Kel turns to his colleagues, asking them the same question. "Do the goblins, ratfolk, and mites agree?"

If provided with paper and writing tools, Kel will sketch out the contract in rough Common, and provide another written copy for each of the party (himself included), this one written in better language in Undercommon. He would have Oleg, Svetlana, and the four of them all make their marks on it.

Meanwhile, Soggy had snagged a pie for himself, the pan currently being licked clean as the krenshar slides it along the floor with his tongue.

"Yes of course, we are all friends. I think Svetlana was saying the chiefs would bring you your pies from here. Also I can order things from the kingdom of Restov that might not be found anywhere else."

Ratfolk Human Warpriest 1 - Summoner 1

Colvin looks up from his pie, "The Rats wil agree, I am sure that Master Splinter would see the Wisdom in this. After pie we will take stock of what we have reclaimed and then we will barter. Tell me Oleg, besides these Bandits, which I think we have mostly broken what other threats plague you here?"

"I can not say for certain, I hear tales from trappers about a large wild boar they call tuskgutter, I have heard it has taken a horse dead with a single charge, bears, wolves, maybe owlbears, a couple local beasts the tazylworm and thycinth are some I hear tell of, but have never seen. Wanted desperate men, and creatures of unknown sorts.....I post rewards and such here on the wall."

Greenbelt rumor 1d10 ⇒ 4

The bandits are getting braver and more organized, and there’s whispers that they have a new leader—a man who dresses in animal’s bones and calls himself the Stag Lord.

M Goblin Unchained Rogue 1/Admixture Evoker 1 | HP: 18/18| AC: 18 (16 T, 13 FF) | CMB: -2, CMD: 13 | F: +1, R: +7, W: +0 | Init: +5 | Perc: +3

Gufi is amenable to such an agreement.

Pie better than horses.

Ratfolk Human Warpriest 1 - Summoner 1

GM:
Didn't I get a Stag Lord Amulet in the first fight? That wasn't the Amulet of THE Stag Lord was it or we cannot be sure yet?

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Colvin recalls....

Spoiler:
you have not faced the anyone matching the description. But it makes you think the rumor must hold some truth. The staglord if he exists is leader, but some bandits perhaps have the amulet as a sigh of rank or station

Mite Cleric of The One Below 2; 25/25 hp

Quuroog sits cross-legged on the table so she is high enough to see faces while others talk. There is cherry filling all around her mouth, almost purple on her blue skin, and a pie plate basically completely covers her lap as she continues on her latest pie acquisition.

"Quuroog likes..." she looks at Svetlana questioningly, "Cherry? Yes, cherry pie."

She listens intently as the others make their offers to Oleg and Svetlana. Seeing nothing wrong with more pie, she nods and puts a cherry-stained handprint on each copy of the contract (unless someone more sophisticated stops her, of course).

"Bandits had magic drink, make hurts go away. Does Oleg know where to get magic drink?"

"Why yes of course, I keep a small supply here, but Bokken the potionmaker is very adept at brewing all sorts of potions he lives nearby. If we go outside we likely can see the smoke from his chimney..."

Svetlana (interupting) "Or his shack burning down from a brew gone wrong."

Oleg "He is a man, but very strange sort."

Oleg points to the South
"Not more than a half hour walk, that way to Bokken's hut."

Mite Cleric of The One Below 2; 25/25 hp

She nods and thanks them, muffled by pie. "Good, good."

Ratfolk Human Warpriest 1 - Summoner 1

Colvin pulls out the amulet he founds, "These bandits serve that Stag Lord I think, this one I found on one of the dead bandits".

Colvin turns to his companions, "Shall we rest and then plan for what to do next? Trade goods and bartering are all well and good but if these foes serve another master I think our battle has just started, right?!" His nose titches with anticipation but it is obvious the excitement of the day has worn the Ratfolk down a bit.

Right. We rest, then we go find this Stag Lord and give him what for!

Gufi likes the rush of it all, too.

Retired, Kobold

Kel nods, "Yes, Soggy could use some sleep."

The Krenshar glances up from where he sits on the floor; his skin flaps are partially opened, as he tries to lick remnants of pie stuck to the further pieces.

Mite Cleric of The One Below 2; 25/25 hp

"Yes, yes. Tired Quuroog cannot use her gifts so well."

We'll start bright and early!

Ratfolk Human Warpriest 1 - Summoner 1

Yes rest!

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Oleg shows you to clean rooms with beds and both bowls and pitchers of clean water on stands near the bunks.....

Mite Cleric of The One Below 2; 25/25 hp

Quuroog looks around the room, a bit lost, but inspiration strikes. She pulls the bedding from the bed and stuffs them underneath as she makes a cozy nest against the wall. Scratch settles on the washstand, watching over his mistress.

Quuroog quickly falls asleep after praying to The One Below.

M Goblin Unchained Rogue 1/Admixture Evoker 1 | HP: 18/18| AC: 18 (16 T, 13 FF) | CMB: -2, CMD: 13 | F: +1, R: +7, W: +0 | Init: +5 | Perc: +3

Gufi nods off once he lays down. He'll prep spells in the morning.

Retired, Kobold

Kel is snoring not long after Oleg shows them to the room; his trusty musket is cradled in his arms (though, fortunately, he had the foresight to leave it unloaded, spare bullets on the floor beside).

Soggy is far more wary than his master, and paces the room for many hours, before finally bedding down near Quuroog's nest, wrapped protectively around the mite's square.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Oleg's is comfortable and some of the best accommodations most of you have ever seen. Early in the morning keen ears....

Perception DC 15

Spoiler:
A log goes on the fire....

An hour later DC 15

Spoiler:
the smell of cooking food...

Mite Cleric of The One Below 2; 25/25 hp

In her sleep, the mite snuggles into the krenshar's fur.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Quuroog is awakened by the sound of the fire being started. She meditates, but the smell of cooking food causes her to tiptoe out of the room and down to the kitchen. She climbs up on a counter out of the way and watches Svetlana work her magic.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Q sees bacon frying in a pan the strips shrinking and becoming crispy as she watches it shrink, Svetlana continues to cook the thick slices of bacon taking it up and adding more to the pan....

Svetlana then uses the rendered fat on a flat top to cook eggs and make a thin white flour gravy in a second pot, finally the original pan still hot and greasy is filled with a yellow gritty batter with corn, peppers and cheeses blended into it, that is put into the oven to bake....

Svetlana whistles a tune as she works on the hearty meal to feed Oleg and the guards as well as any guests.

Some remaining grease is placed in a jar for mysterious and unknown reasons.....

M Goblin Unchained Rogue 1/Admixture Evoker 1 | HP: 18/18| AC: 18 (16 T, 13 FF) | CMB: -2, CMD: 13 | F: +1, R: +7, W: +0 | Init: +5 | Perc: +3

Neither Kobold nor Krenshar notice the sounds of wood being added to the fire, nor does Soggy react when his new mite-friend clambers out of her nest in search of the kitchen. Both, however, are awakened by the smells of cooking bacon; Soggy bounds into the kitchen, skinflaps pulled back in anticipation of a meal, with Kel wandering in shortly thereafter, gun in hand and eyes red, yawning.

"Good smells. You cook meat? Soggy and I enjoy meat."

The krenshar will eat anything placed before him, with Kel avoiding the baked goods in favor of meat and eggs.

"Food good. How much does it cost?"

Svetlana

"Bacon and eggs a fitting meal for a dragon!"

"And this is Soggy?"
....."is it alive or an undead thing?"

"Today breakfast is on the house, err free today; Oleg is very happy today."

Noticing the others....
"Well come on before it gets cold."

The table is a fine spread, with bread, apples, berries, butter, jellies, and molasses and honey as well.....

Two of the guards come in to eat they are not especially talkative and seem to be in a hurry to get finished with their meal....
If you say nothing to them
They finish eating and leave at which time the captain and the other guard come in to eat......

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

As you are eating a dirty man comes in he has an arm full of hides....

"Ooooleg! I got some hides for you!"

Svetlana: "Breeg Orlivanch, you foul-mannered trapper, I have told you not to bring those filthy hides into my kitchen!"

The man turns tail....
....Svetlana had taken a broom in hand....

Sense motive DC 12

Spoiler:
you suspect Svetlana has previously taken her broom to him

Mite Cleric of The One Below 2; 25/25 hp

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 *sad face* Any aid roll will probably make it on its own...

Svetlana: "Perhaps next time pork chops for breakfast, the bacon is just too thin!"

Ratfolk Human Warpriest 1 - Summoner 1

Despite the smells the Ratfolk is late to rise. He prays to his God for power and wisdom through the rest of the day and checks for all of his belongings before bringing himself down to the kitchen.

"A wonderful smells!" Colvin heads to the table eyeing the dirty man a bit suspiciously.

"You be a trapper out here in these wilds? What do you know of the Stag Lord?"

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

The man is confused for a second as Svetlana threatens to dent his head with her broom as his eyes try to adjust to the indoors and he looks over his piles of furs to see the shorter occupants of the room....

"What the hell, well I guess that fellow was telling the truth, he said he was a bandit and attacked by a bunch of little monsters, he was scared, but he said the Staglord would get even with them."

Retired, Kobold

Sense Motive Aid Quuroog: 1d20 ⇒ 12

Turning to face the trapper once again, Kel frowns, but flashes his teeth "monstrously." "Where did you see this bandit? Where did he go?"

There you go Q, I helped! xD

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

"It was not far from here....."
He describes the area near B6-B8..heading into A7.
"...but he said he was going to Restov."

The man shrugs....
