By the way, Cala, my other ninth knot asked me to compliment you after I told them of your absolutely disgusting plan.
(with a bow)
I aim to horrify. I should probably stop watching Hannibal, it's where I get these ideas.

![]() |

I've been watching Hannibal after Cala's tip. It's very good material for stories such as ours :)
In further bad news, I'm going on holiday for three weeks. I'll be back on july 1st.
We're struggling a bit, and I think that's a sad thing. We've done better, and I believe everyone wants to get back on track.
So, let's not make any more of this than it really is: a mother f*ing bad time for us to have a set of adverse circumstances. They will pass. Andoran WILL fall.
They're just a bunch of religious pansies anyway.

Caladwhen |

Hey no problem IB. We'll get back into the swing of things I'm sure of it; this easily the best PbP I'm in, so I'm always here and will see it through if everyone else is game.
Have a great vacation!

Oret Stonechild |

I think we were waiting on Oret, at least in part.
First off, let me say that I've enjoyed the story thus far; it's been fun dealing with the idiosyncrasies of each of the characters, both those that were in the story originally as well as the short parade of characters that followed. It has really been a lot of tun.
That said, DMIB and I had a short conversation where I explained that while I like the story aspect of the AP, I'm not thrilled with the direction that it's taking. I'm sure it makes me seems shallow, but while I like role-play well enough, to have only that, to the exclusion of roll-play, doesn't seem right to me.
DMIB, to his credit, was totally honest and said that, while he understands my position, his RL situation is such that this is likely going to be the rule rather than the exception. I respect that - this is, after all, a source of entertainment, and RL is obviously more important.
However, the fact that this is entertainment is precisely why I'm taking my leave. The whole "you're so powerful that nothing can hurt you, so why bother even rolling the dice?" vibe doesn't sit well with me, and it's not what I'm looking for in my entertainment.
I know that this party has had more than it's fair share of turnover, and I'm sorry to add to that, but I hope you all understand. I'm sure that you all will do Asmodeus proud even after Oret is gone.
Thanks for the fun, and enjoy the fall of Andoran.
P.S. - Assuming it's okay with DMIB, Oret would probably be okay with Cala reanimating his corpse. Just sayin'.

Talon Dalkar |

Sad to see you go Oret. I have nobody to look muscular with and grunt anymore!
If this sort of hand-waving is going to be the rule instead of the exception I'm not thrilled with the direction either. My understanding was that since the game had been dragging we were doing this just to get past it since it was assumed we had enough of an advantage that victory was clear. I do enjoy the roleplaying enough to stay regardless, but I would hate not not have a challenge.

Caladwhen |

While I'm sorry to hear this Oret, I do understand your position with respect to role vs. roll playing (I always aim for a balance in my RL games). That said, I've had a heck of a lot of fun with this game and would hate to see it spin out over something like the occasional hitting of the fast-forward button during battles; I for one find that PbP battles can often drag on and can have the effect of slowing down the game as a whole.
Ultimately, I think this is a conversation that can wait until IB is back.

Sindran Eithe |

Hi guys, sorry I haven't been around. I've no internet connection at the moment, so I'll hold off on saying anything until I get it back. Take care everyone.

Fair question.
I've had a great vacation, and I've been getting my head together, thinking about what would be the best way to go forward from here.
There will be more and more fighting as we progress in the story, but it seems we grind to a halt with every battle we face. It takes massive effort to maintain any sort of momentum, and I'm not too keen on that.
The wise path would probably be to call it a day - but as you know, Asmodeans Do Not Quit. So that's just not an option.
I've got another trick up my sleeve to counter our slow battles. It seems so obvious, but I've been a little too lenient on this.
When we hit combat - one round lasts at most 24 hours. If you don't post within that time, I will NPC you for that round.
does that make sense?

Caladwhen |

Perfect, sounds good to me. I think that's a good approach to keeping the combat in the game, but also reducing the time it takes for a battle to progress.
Welcome back IB! Yeah, I'd hate to leave this game over something like combat... I'll admit that this is my favorite PbP game I've been in (and probably my best character).

Sindran Eithe |

I'm here as well. =] I'm still in unstable circumstances so I may not get on at times, but DMPCing during combat is alright with me.
This is also my favorite PBP so I'm glad we're on again.

Cole Adams |

Yep I'm always around. I got a new job offer though and put in my 2 weeks. May not be able to get to paizo at new position. If that is the case I will still be posting, but not until I get home from work. This starts on the 25th.

Caladwhen |

I had a though IB; can Caladwhen simply use the body and head of Titus, and raise it as a zombie Frankenstein? I can't remember the exact wording, but if we only need to deliver 51% of the 7th, cannot Titus remain dead and simply animated?

![]() |

I don't know.
Maybe Caladwhen knows - she knows a lot about contracts, so maybe she should roll profession(barrister) / knowledge (planes) / knowledge (religion) to find out if she's confident.
It'd save spending 5k on a stupid diamond, I'd say that's worth a little effort - right now, Talon blew it so he ows the group 5k. If Cala can make this go away for him, Talon would be even more seriously in her debt than he already is now.
*shrug* Just saying. *looks innocently*

Caladwhen |

I think Caladwhen will be able to work with the body of Titus and make a successful legal argument that we fulfilled our contract in a frugal manner with only the minimum of collateral damage.
Anyway everyone, I'll be away until Sunday, so feel free to blaze on without me until then. Have a great weekend y'all!

Cole Adams |

No objection here, I have a belt of Dex, and my bow is a +4 Str so wouldn't help me :) None of the gear is really that great for me. THe Ring of Protection and Amulet of Natural Armor should go to the front line as well.

Caladwhen |

Wondering if Caladwhen could get some of the armor enhancing stuff? It's the one seriously defective thing about Caladwhen given her crappy dexterity, so it couldn't hurt (though that said, it won't save her either I guess)

Cole Adams |

Yep, we are high enough level that if we are not focusing on armor, meaning we are in the 30's by now, then it will never catch up enough. Better to load up the frontliner and try and stay out serious threat.

Item Purchases:
Wand of Speak with Animals [CL 1] - 750 GP
Wand of Mage Armor [CL 1] - 750 GP
Scroll of Speak with Plants [CL 2] x2 - 200 GP each
Total: 1150 GP
Suggestions on what to craft/do with the money:
I can't recommend Handy Haversack enough. Craft one for everyone! Replace our backpacks! Never worry about item weight and capacity! Get things out with a move action! I will resort to buying it, really.
Upgrade Sindran's Headband of Alluring Charisma from (+2) to (+4) // Cost (craft): 6,000 GP
Spellguard Bracers for casters // Buying is 5,000 gp, Caladwhen doesn't have the feat prerequisite
Get a Wand of Cure Light Wounds for Talon/Caladwhen/etc. Someone needs to be able to heal if I'm not there. I have Wand of Cure Light Wounds [CL 5] (30 charges) if anyone wants it. I'll swap it for a CL 1 Wand of CLW.
When we get to level 9, Caladwhen should start crafting everyone Cloak of Resistance (+3). We could do (+2) for now and upgrade it later, too, but we're close to leveling I think.
Also, metamagic rods and Pearl of Power for you guys. And a Bookplate of Recall because your spellbook is important.
Eyes of the Eagle for a Perception bonus.

Caladwhen |

Yes actually, if you have the other prerequisite feats, than we can work together to build the Spellguard Bracers.
Good suggestions Sindran; incidentally, a Metamagic Rod is exactly what I was thinking for Caladwhen, and Pearl of Power's are always nice.
