GM Eats the Eyes |

Welcome to the Way of the Wicked. Come on in and say, "Hi," to the others. If you wish to make any changes to your character, now is the time to do so. A couple things:
•Please place major stats in your heading (Current HP/Total HP || Init || AC/Touch/FF || Fort; Ref; Will || Perception (Senses); Sense Motive).
•I will roll initiative and any reactive rolls for you.
•Combat will be done in blocks. Ex:
Initiative comes up:
Gilligan ->8
Skipper->13
Mr. Howell->1
Mrs. Howell->20
Ginger->4
Professer->25 (Improved Initiative) :)
Mary-ann->15
Enemy Animated Coconuts->10
Enemy Tree->18
Combat will go: Block A (Professor and Mrs. Howell)->Enemy A (Enemy Tree)->Block B (Skipper and Mary-ann)->Enemy B (Enemy Animated Coconuts)->Block C (Gilligan, Mr. Howell, and Ginger)
You can act any time within your block, I will take actions within any given block in order of who posts first. This should reduce wait time without invalidating a high initiative modifier.
•I expect 1 post per day over the week. On the weekend, you can post as much or little as you like--and I will try to post if you do--but I don't expect it and I don't expect I will get a post up every weekend.
•I will mostly try to run RAW, but I am willing to change some of them if presented with a good reason as to why it should be different.
•This game is designed for a lot of the things you can't do in the hero campaigns. If you want to become a vampire, it's possible. A lich? That too. Something else? Let me know and we'll see what we can come up with. As long as I can keep the game balanced (meaning you're all about the same power level), we'll figure out a way to make it happen.
•Any familiars, animal companions, other companions that cannot be dismissed to another plane have been killed. Those who have a class feature with one of these things will get a chance to receive a new one. If you have one, please let me know what kind you want so that I can have it appear at the appropriate time.
•Most of all have fun! That's what this game is for.

Zova Lex |

I don't believe I have any changes to report to my character.
I will be playing Zova Lex: A Half-Orc with Shoanti parentage, a former Hellknight from the Order of the Scourge, and now convicted murderer of a Mitran inquisitor. I suspect I can reveal more information in character though ^_^
I'm excited that I was chosen, and really glad to be playing with you all!

Nera Leroung |

No changes here either
I'll be Nera Leroung, HumanWarpriest of Moloch who got arrested for desertion before she could turn it into betrayal. She traces her heritage back to the Leround family of Korvosa and Cheliax though her branch of the family moved to Talingarde many, many years ago.
I need a horse. I guess the most logical for her would be that her horse was confiscated, the link somehow broken and the beast is now a nameless horse in Talingarde's army.
It's a shame that I can only get a horse (or a camel), while small folk have a real good selection (especially the wolf). Almost makes you want to dip Mammoth Rider and get a huge beast (a bull perhaps, sacred animal of Moloch).

Cоrаl |

Nice to meet you all.
I will play Coral ,human wizard, expelled from the mage academy and convicted for high theft .
Coral evildoing record will probably be the lowest of the group ,but i do plan to catch up.

Zova Lex |

Could we know a bit about the setting we are in? Perhaps we could start to roleplay in character, but not do anything to try and escape until you prompt us to go ahead.

Tenoch Itzcoatl |

Tenoch Itzcoatl. Monstrous Qlippoth-Spawn Divine Verminous Hunter of Baalzebul. Cast out from birth, even the orphanage didn't want him. Learned to survive in the slums, garbage pits, and wilderness. Desecrated a Mitran temple due to their hypocrisy.
Tenoch can have a vermin companion, but when they killed his last, the giant fly that connected him to the Lord of Flies, he became infused with its power (continuous Vermin focus due to dead companion) so he'll be fine without one.
Note weekends I'm rarely online. Luckily, it seems weekend posting isn't a huge requirement.

Yes, I was getting ready to put up the first Gameplay post in a just a little bit. Looks like most have already checked in, we will have Ardra here as well.
@Zova: Is there another avatar that would fit the half-orc better? I'm prepping the stuff for maps and wanted to know.
@Nera: I have an idea that might work. We could use a horse mechanically, combining the hoof attacks and bite attack into one gore attack that does 1d6 damage and increases to 1d8 at 4th, then call it a bull. How do you feel about that?
@Tenoch: Sounds good. If you decide you want one later, make sure to let me know.

Zova Lex |

I'll choose another avatar right now. And taking a look at Tenoch...I know who I will trust to have my back in serious melee.

Nera Leroung |

A follower of Baalzebul, I know who Nera will trust least of all people here.
@Zova: What's wrong with Nera for melee? Sure, she won't do that much till 3rd level and the Whipmaster feat but once that is in she's quite formidable.
@GM: That sounds just fine. Just need to reach it now.

Zova Lex |

Oh nothing's wrong with Nera. You see, the thing is, Zova doesn't have much in the way of Sense Motive (but a decently high perception) so she can't really tell what you can do just yet... Tenoch looks like a big scary combatant, sniffs smells like a big scary combatant, and thus due to Zova's powers of observation... she has concluded that he is a big scary combatant :)
Plus, in Hellknight armor, all her allies looked the same. Big, scary, DEMONIC LOOKING, scary combatants.

Ardra Pain de Veau |

Hi all, Ardra checking in. I'll be your Alchemist and caterer for this shindig. Nice to meet you all.

GM Eats the Eyes |

That's fine. It is your choice, though diplomacy is not the only way to get what you want. Especially for villains.
Anyway, like I said above, you have a little time to alter your build a little if you'd like. I think we probably won't hear from Tenoch till Monday (I play in another game with him, and it is rare when he can post on weekends). So I think I will start the real action then. You have till then to make any changes.
Edit: Actually, I might start it tonight, but you can still have a little bit to make changes.

Nera Leroung |

Nera is done being sous-anything so I doubt it.
Beyond that there is just one question I have, but it's aimed at some point far in the future: Nera's level 15 ability from her archetype only works in mass combat and when using the mass combat rules, would that be of any use at all in this game? Just curiosity really.

Ardra Pain de Veau |

please remind me, assuming I ever knew, once we acquire new spell and formula books, will we be starting with a full complement of spells/formulae or just what we'd memorized before capture?

Zova Lex |

I also have profession soldier, but could be convinced to take torturer... and dont look at me for many face skills. I cover survival and perception pretty well (I dont have my shret in front of me right now, but I know there was something else... if no one has a good sense motive, I could take a trait that gives me that as a class skill. Hellknights should be able to tell when someone is lying to them after all.

GM Eats the Eyes |

please remind me, assuming I ever knew, once we acquire new spell and formula books, will we be starting with a full complement of spells/formulae or just what we'd memorized before capture?
Honestly, that would depend on how you come by the new book. There are several options for how you come by a new book, some come with lots of spells, some with none. Entirely up to you.

Zova Lex |

May I take a drawback in order to take a third trait?

Zova Lex |

I took the Suspicious trait and will take the Cruelty drawback. Is that fine?

Ardra Pain de Veau |

GM Eats the Eyes wrote:The only other company is a large creature in the cell next to yours that hasn't moved since you first arrived.Oh yes. You can all see him too. He sits behind thick steel bars, unmoving except as he breathes. The smell is strong, as if he had not had a bath in a long time.
oh look at that, he's in the room description. sorry

Zova Lex |

So what seems to be our 'in character' group roles?
Coral seems the logical choice for leader, with her high intelligence and charisma.
Tenoch's stats and skills show that he might easily be the dragon (brutish, tough, yet intelligent enough to be second in command)
I have absolutely NO idea what to think of Andra's all around amazing stats. (Seriously, I would kill for that set... actually, I am Neutral Evil...)
Nera seems to be a bit of a soldier and a bit of a priest (and if I'm looking correctly, is our only divine connection with Asmodeus... unless you wish to count my mere worship as a connection)
Zova is an all around brute who will be the sword arm of the party (and the person willing to take a blow for anyone else thank you barbarian HP, not willing to betray such a powerful party, as long as the destruction of the Mitrans is the ultimate goal. Funnnily enough, though not lawful evil, I could see her being quite the loyal character.

Nera Leroung |

Fun part is, Nera doesn't even worship Asmodeus. Her veneration goes to Moloch, Hells' great general, and a little Eiseth on the side (pays to have a back up plan).
She's the tyrant type Lawful Evil but also knows she isn't too smart and lacks the brawn to beat someone up. Her choice of weapons (whip initially and some longbow later as well) are based on this.
She is a commander but not a leader if that makes any sense. Give her a squad/army and a plan and she'll execute flawlessly but don't ask her to come up with a plan of her own (though she is more than able to analyse and critique plans of others).
Oh, and she's good with animals. In fact she tends to prefer a well trained animal to something more intelligent as there is less of a chance to be stabbed in the back. As such she also is far kinder to animals than to humanoids.
EDIT: My biggest issue right now is that Nera is physically weak so while she can hit she'll hardly hurt anyone and her spells are very limited. An even bigger issue with spell is that I can't cast them as I lack an appropriate unholy symbol.

Zova Lex |

Hmm, I see. I'm not sensing issues right now for my character, but later on, I was thinking of taking a fun template... but the problem is, most templates replace my constitution modifier for my charisma modifier when calculating things like HP, and my charisma is TERRIBLE. At this point, I think it'd be smarter for me to build a straight CAGM Barbarian. (Not as fun, but losing con hurts... a lot.)

Ardra Pain de Veau |

Ardra doesn't worship Asmodeus either, but doesn't have any interest in religion whatsoever.
Her role in the party is gonna be up in the air for a while. She's got a lot of hats available though, she can hit hard up close and at a distance, she's got some healing, a roguish set of skills and can buff. I think she's here to fill in the gaps, but she not really great at anything.

Nera Leroung |

When it comes to templates Graveknight could interest Nera or maybe Vampire. Some kind of fiendish transformation would also be cool.
When looking at (evil) templates I always regret not being a Druid. I love Siabrae.

Zova Lex |

Hm. That's actually pretty useful. I don't think I would mind spending a few feats on a template.
By the way, have we seen how often guards change shifts? And when they do, how much time is it between the time the first guard set of guards leave and the second set take over? (If any at all)

Zova Lex |

Perhaps the GM would be willing to let you give up class levels.

Tenoch Itzcoatl |

Wow I see a bunch of gameplay posts. I guess things have been moving along, lol. Found a bit of time, so I'll see if I can catch up and post something.
As for templates, being in a similar boat as Zova, I think any of the undead templates aren't really on for Tenoch. The Worm That Walks might fit his theme, or just a fiendish or half-fiend template might work. Or just stick with vanilla, we'll see.
As for links to Azzy. Tenoch follows Baalzebul who is an underling of the Dark Prince (much like Moloch is, except Baalzebul got the smack down from Asmodeus a while back).

Ardra Pain de Veau |

are we limited to one post per day during the week? I understand the reasoning behind doing so if we are, i just want to verify.

Zova Lex |

I think we are expected to have AT LEAST one.

Tenoch Itzcoatl |

Yeah, it's probably at least one, although for courtesy, we probably shouldn't post more than say 2-3 times over and above what the one with the lowest number of posts has made.

Zova Lex |

Lets see what Nera has to say before I start chanting a few Asmodean hymns... I can't do anything magical, but seeing as I painted the walls of my home with the symbol of Asmodeus, I'm sure they're at least likely to come in and try to stop me (or at the very least threaten me). Perhaps I can jangle around a bit while I'm at it...

Cоrаl |

So this is the plan then ?
We fake infighting or Ziva sings until the guards arrive.
Then when the shift changes we act.
I think we can deal with 1 or 2, maybe even capture one. If there are more of them we have to try more sneaky approach .

Zova Lex |

I think infighting works best. Perhaps we should leave the person with the tools and the magic item out of it though. Just in case

Cоrаl |

If anyone have to risk getting beaten by the guards i think it should be me, after all when the real combat starts i will stay behind ,plus i have better chance to talk my way out of trouble.

Zova Lex |

Hold on, I swear I had a rank in linguistics specifically for infernal.
GM, I'm taking a rank out of climb in putting it in linguistics. I thought I had done that before.
