Lureene resists the urge to start explore the contents of the mound-shaped desk, and whispers back to Sasha, "Just keep quiet, if you see a light coming from me, then we are in trouble...I will take the lead."

Lureene sends a message to Grak to watch topside, and make sure no green men sneak up on either the ladies, or Gelik. She then tightly grips her wand, and proceeds towards the bow of the ship and the strange glow therein.

Sasha pats Lureene's shoulder twice in understanding and stays behind her, kukri in one hand, the other on her friend's wing. As they move, Lureene steps on something that pops and sends a cloud of vile spores up into the air. In alarm, the two hurry and press themselves against the western wall even as a pair of hidden vegepygmies tear themselves free of their surrounding and come to investigate.

The two seem to bark back and forth at one another, spears in hand, yet it is the sound coming from further below that causes the two beauties more concern. Somewhere in the darkness below, they can feel the ship shuddering as a something larger and heavier than the pygmies shambles about. It seems to be coming from the room below them...

Leaving the two miniature fungus-men behind them, Lureene leads them further down then feels her heart freeze in her breast when she sees what awaits below. On the ships lower deck, strewn all across the floor, are the ruptured corpses of over a dozen corpses!

Lureene fighs back a sense of panic, trying to calm herself without breathing too loudly. A difficult task, at best she discovered. Only by thinking of Alis and her calm violet eyes...I am counting on you, El... helps regain her focus.

She pauses now, sense stretching for any sign of movement. Not seeing any movement, she decides they need to know EXACTLY where Jask was, not to mention the source of the noises below...

She grips Sasha's hand tightly to keep quiet and chants as quietly as she dared a spell to detect thoughts of those around her...

Cast Detect Thoughts, and scan area for 3 rounds, assuming they are not interrupted...


Lureene stops in her tracks and casts her spell, doing her best to remain silent. Behind her, she can hear the two vegepygmies grousing and walking about but she can't actually sense their presence. She does sense Sasha's thoughts though...

Wish El had a spell that could let me see-in-the-dark, she's shaking like a leaf! Wonder what she's waiting for, I hope she's not losing her nerve or anything — I'll definitely have to give her a massage after we get the old fart out of this place. Hmm... wonder if I can get her to give me one too... 'Oooh nooo, I must have sprained a rib fighting in the dark! It hurts sooo baaad El, can you pleeeaaase help?' Hmm, yeah... of course we'll need to do something about Gelik. Well, unless we just have him help I guess...

Sasha gives a sudden shudder.

Nah, screw that, he'd probably hump El's leg like a creepy little dog. Hmm, wonder how Wuffie is doing without me. I hope Mom didn't hurt him...

Shaking her head and breaking her attention away from Sasha, Lureene stretches her mind's eye further. She is able to detect Jask's mind, but his thoughts are a jumble like someone caught in the throes of a bad dream. She can tell that he's not far away though — seemingly on the level with the grizzly remains of the crew in the aft compartment.


Lureene is glad the darkness hides her blush, but she knew Sasha could feel her trembling, not all due to fear by the way. I would not mind giving Sash a massage, she certainly deserves one...but if Sash thinks Gelik is going to -- She stops that pleasant train of thought and focuses her attention on Jask, trying to pinpoint exactly where he was.

Continue scanning for Jask until she gets a location for him. Once she finds him, she will move to him, and pour a potion of CLW down his throat.

Continuing to concentrate, Lureene is able to determine that Jask is no more than 20-ft away to the south east along the starboard side of the hull and unconscious. She also hears the sound of more than one creature moving around inside the aft cabin.

Thankfully, the two who are in what must have once been the captain's cabin return to keeping watch on the main deck, oblivious to the presence of the two invisible women on the stairs. The succubus can sense that Grak isn't happy about having more company, although he remains silent and doesn't complain.

Lureene smiles to herself, Finally found him! She knows he is currently being guarded by more of the plant men so they would have to be dealt with.

How am I going to distract the guards? I know…

She pulss Sasha close, whispering in the huntresses’ ear, ”When you see light, take out the guards, I will get Jask” She then quietly chants a summoning spell, and several glowing beetles appear, moving to attack!

Use SLA Summon Monster II to summon 1d3 ⇒ 3 celestial fire beetles; have them attack the plant men.


Theme: The Moathouse

"You got it, El!" Sasha replies eagerly.

With the casting of her spell, a trio of glowing beetles appear and immediately skitter and fly into the lower aft cabin, knocking skulls, shattered ribs and broken furniture out of their way as they clatter to attack. From the stairs, the two women hear commotion and tumult. From after there are grunts, the plopping sound of something wet slopping about, and the angry buzz of the fire beetles.

Yet elsewhere elsewhere in the ship's hold, Lureene can just make out faint squeaks and chirps of anger. Lureene's skin crawls as little green men begin to climb out of the ruptured remains of the dead bodies down below!

Sasha pats Lureene on the back and squeezes past her. Yet instead of moving to engage the enemies in the hold, she rounds the corner, following the light of the beetles and passing out of Lureene's sight — unable to spot the additional threats in the darkness and failing to hear them over the noise to the east.

"HA!" Sasha's laugh is dampened by the profusion of fungus blanketing the floor and walls. Lureene feels a swell of hope at the ranger's enthusiasm, before she faintly hears her mutter, "Well that didn't do a whole lot..."

Ohhh…GREAT! This is shaping up poorly...

Lureene sighs in frustration as the enemies show their true numbers. Hang on Sash… Knowing getting caught and encircled would mean their deaths, she opts to trap those in the hold…

Sticky, clinging webs fill the ship's hold. The one furthest from her is completely obscured — lost to her sight thru the thick mass. The next two are just barely visible, but the succubus can tell that only one of them is rooted in place. Finally, not far from her, squeaking in anger as it gazes upon the newly materialized pink-skin, the fourth pygmy struggles against its bonds, black eyes locked upon her.

'Misssstressss,' Grak hisses, 'the green men are going inssside. You ssseem anxiousss...'

All around Sasha, the buzzing and clicking of beetles is strangely muted. Yet for all their bluster, they didn't seem to be doing a whole lot of good.

Well, at least I can see now...

"HEY FATSO!" She shouts, grinning savagely at the very large 'pygmy' that was still holding the massive spoon it had been using to cram some greyish green muck down Jask's throat, "TIME TO GO ON A DIE-ET!"

In the next moment, the ranger unleashes a flurry of slashes with her two small blades. The hulking brute throws its swollen hands up to shield itself from her brazen fury, sending a spray of its vile soup through the air and splattering her face even as it howls in primal rage.

The sinuous winged serpent waits until the small, green men have their backs turned before he slips silently into the air. A single beat of his wings close the distance and he bites down on the neck of the first fungus man, yet his tiny fangs don't even puncture the spongy green surface of their 'skin'.

The pygmy that Grak bites gives a squawk of surprise and tears at the pearly-skinned snake with its grubby black claws opening a nasty gasp on the side of his neck. The eidolon cries out in pain but retains the presence of mind to flaps his wings out of the way just in time to rise above a jagged spear thrust for his heart.

Lureene can see her webs shaking as the creatures trapped within attempt to free themselves and struggle through it. Further east, a small shape comes tumbling out, a spear in its hands. Yet she has little time to think on it as the vegepygmy ensnared not 10 feet away tears lose and leaps free, brandishing the jawbone of its 'host', yellow teeth bared in a high-pitched hiss.

Her moment of shock is broken as the rusty spearhead of the other foe screeches off her mage armor, passing just inches in front of her bust!

A great, grizzly spoon, cauldron full of bubbling muck, Jask laid out on a side board, old pots and pans clattering about beneath her feet. Yes, this was definitely the ship's galley at one point and she was about to be the crew's next meal!

Nearby, the little monster on the table had just leapt off and ripped one of the beetles in half, splashing glowing juices across its face and the floor. Beside her, another of the vicious brutes was doing the same to another beetle, although that one at least did not just vanish. With some chagrin, the huntress noted that the glowing remains and, what was that, blood? vanished along with the creature itself.

A dull *BOOM* rang out as she ducked a powerful swing of 'The Chef's' club-like ladle, the massive spoon striking a rusted-up cast-iron griddle hanging near her. She quickly knocked aside a slash of its greasy, black claws, catching the attack on the spine of her kukri, noting the raw power the monster's bulky, bloated form lent its
attacks.

"HEY EL," she frown at her voice sounding so much softer in the unsettlingly velvety interior of this dank place, "THEY'RE SQUASHING YOUR BUGS!"

Lureene grits her teeth knowing once the bugs have been slain the light will vanish along with them. Mentally, she makes a note to see if Alis could give Sasha some sort of magic to see in the dark…

She steps into the doorway brandishing her wand...I have to help Sash out! She focuses on the hulking brute engaged with Sasha.

The sound of glass shattering fills the air and Lureene reappears in the sagging doorway of the derelict ship's macabre galley. She immediately thinks to draw Alis' mithril rapier when she recalls Sasha's advice on thrusting weapons being ineffectual. She assesses the great, 7-ft tall bloated green-grey hulk, and draws her adamantine dagger instead as the brute assaulting Sasha tromps about, ichor leaking from the wounds inflicted upon is thick, blubbery form, things unseen bulging and prodding from within as if seeking escape.

She instinctively points her wand at the monstrosity and a trio of missiles rocket forth impacting it like stones tossed into a vat of sludge. At its feet, a badly injured fire beetle attempts to bite at the goblin-sized pygmy behind it but it's mandibles can't penetrate its tough flesh.

"Thanks!" Sasha says and she tries to finish it off, but with it now wise to her presence, it does a much better job of defending itself, her attacks scarcely grazing it.

Grak feels a sense of urgency from his mistress and knows she is in trouble.

He concentrates his attacks on the pygmy in front of him, flying above him to gain a tactical advantage.

Grak bites the pygmy before him hard tearing a chunk free from its shoulder. The vile creature reels backward, slashing at the eidolon ineffectually with its sharp claws even as Grak's tail whooshes in front of its face.

Further back, the other one thrusts with its spear but its attack is knocked away by it verdant ally.

In the hold below, Lureene can hear something tearing free of her webs and approaching. Looking over her shoulder, she sees the one that was trapped further back approaching just before the one with the jawbone in hand swings at her legs. While she evades its frenzied attack, she just catches something out of the corner of her eye before the edge of the other pygmy's spear opens a cut on her cheek.

Momentarily thankful for her supernaturally tough skin, the succubus hears a crunch followed by warm liquid splashing against her thighs. Turning around, she sees another pygmy shaking its stubby arms in the air victoriously, another of her fire beetles vanquished, the light within growing increasingly dim.

"Cast a damn light spell already! There's only one– OOF!"

Sasha's tirade is cut shot when the chef clobbers her upside the head with his ladle, knocking her back against the sticky wall. Yet before she can recover, the interior of the ship is plunged into pitch black as the last beetle has its head ripped off by the chef's little helper.

"Aw hell..."

Lureene flashes a smile at her bosum buddie, and chants a quick cantrip. Soon a golden light started to emanate from her locket.

Still wincing from the hit she just took, Sasha glances over to her friend and notes her radiant cleavage. With a short laugh, she says, "Nice!"

She quickly sidesteps to hack at the back of the pygmy blocking her before turning her attention back to The Chef. Sadly, the little one doesn't go down, and her swift attacks fail to penetrate the big one's thick exterior. "Crap, even the little ones are kinda tough..."

Grak continues to harass and whittle away at the tenacious creatures before him, all while continuing to flit away from their grubby attacks.

Below deck, Lureene's web spell continues to grief two more of the fungus men. One remains entangled, and another that had been making progress is stymied when its spear arm becomes wrapped up by the clinging strands.Yet that is precious little comfort to the two surrounded women.

Lureene manages to duck another spear thrust at her head, but feels sharp claws dig into her thigh raising angry red welts on her smooth skin.

The pygmy Sasha had slashes does its best to divide her attention even as the chef chokes-up on his mace-like spoon to deliver a crushing two-hand blow to the abdomen, forcing the wind out of Sasha. The ranger spits blood but still manages to avoid an attack by the chef's little helper who has now climbed atop the table next to Jask.

Lureene turns her attention to the hulking brute giving Sasha a good whipping, by the sounds of it. Ignoring the pesky pygmies harrassing her, she faces the chef and lets her missiles fly.

Grak can feel his mistresses' frustration and can only shrug helplessly. He was no combatant and she knew that about him. Still he had faith in his mistress.

The huntress waits just until The Chef swings again and misses then lunges forward, hacking its head off with her kukri in one fell blow. As it staggers backwards and away from a follow-up slash, she spins around and hacks at the pygmy behind her nearly splitting it in half.

"HA! How's tha–"

*BOOM*

Before she can finish, The Chef's body bursts at the seams spewing a foul, yellow ichor everywhere. The huntress just barely manages to dodge it, but Jask, still unconscious, is absolutely covered!

"THE FVCK? EL!!!"

Wheeling about, you find another pygmy clambering out of The Chef's ruptured husk and that all those present are charging furiously for Jask as if in some sort of mindless fury!

From all around the wreck, the pygmies' shriek like rabid raccoons, hungry for Jask's flesh. The one that had been attacking Lureene with its spear drops it and climbs up a pass-thru counter leading into the kitchen before jumping onto the edge of the table. Those fighting Grak race away, the furthest tearing thru the webs only to leave its injured companion ensnared in them.

The pygmies blocked by the taller women desperately try to shred their way thru them, while the newborn finishes extricating itself from its filthy birthplace.

Atop the table, the one already standing there drops atop the unconscious cleric and begins tearing at his flesh with its claws, rivulets of blood running soaking the fungus beneath him!

She concentrates and calls her spell to mind while aiming carefully...Grak's mental message interrupts her train of thought and she responds instantly, Draw their attacks from me! Hurry!

Grak recoils from the unspoken reply and hurries towards where she is holding off the pygmys.

Double move: Fly to U4.
He will try to draw AoO's from the pygmys so Lureene can get her spell off.


In a panic, Grak races below banking hard to avoid running into his mistress' web spell. He immediately dive-bombs the pygmy behind her, hoping to distract it long enough to buy her time to get her spell off. While the pearlescent serpent's acting leaves much to be desired, his bright white scales flashing before the enraged fungus man's red-tinged gaze is like a cape waved before a bull.

Squeaking with rage, the small, green savage swings, seeking to rend Grak apart, but the agile snake deftly avoid the attacks of no few than three of the creatures!

"Grak hasss your back, Misssstressss!"

Without further delay, Lureene focuses on hitting only the murderous vegepygmies and looses a scorching bolt of lightning that tears past Sasha's head and impacts both of the tiny brutes without harming Jask. The first one is badly injured, its green 'flesh' blackened. The other, however, is split in half like a lightning-struck tree before the blast smashes a hole in the side of the hull.

Sasha spins away from the blast, throwing up an arm to shield her face, life flashing before her eyes. When the boom of thunder informs her she's still alive, she shouts, "HEADS UP MAYBE?!"

Trying to keep her cool, she hacks down the pygmy blocking Lureene then sidesteps hoping to keep the newborn from reaching Jask as she levels her remaining attacks at the one still standing over him. Unfortunately, she's still shaking too badly to connect.

Grinning proudly, he puffs his chest and says, "Master Aberwhinge, AT your service!"

From within the web, the savage on the starboard side, tears free, plunging out of the affected area and straight towards the pass thru. Heedless of Grak, it shoves past its broodmate and climbs up.

The one Grak was hovering over attempts the same thing, but he has none of it. Waiting until it attempts to scale the short wall, Grak swoops down and tears a large chunk out of its back, ignoring the foul taste and giving an angry hiss. While it is not enough to knock it to the ground, the flying serpent does successfully check its advance.

"Ssstay ssstill, ssslimy ssskin!"

"Gel, see if you can wake Jask up while Sash and I hold them off!"

As the pygmy rushes past her, she swipes at it with her dagger.

She pulls up just short of running into Sasha and the redhead gives her a cockeye look, nodding at the ground. "Uh, watch your cooter..."

Below Lureene, the highly agitated pygmy does its best to shred her, but is able to do little more than flail about like a toddler throwing a tantrum, her abjurations foiling its wrath.

Expression equal parts shock and disgust, Lureene slashes downward with her wavy blade cleanly lopping the head off the pygmy beneath her as though it were a dandelion.

More concerned with protecting his mistress than checking the advance of more pygmies thru the window, Grak follows her, punishing the dirty green fellow that dared to lay hands on her creamy skin. He hardly notices as the enraged pygmies try to claw him from the air, missing entirely.

Although you're not certain if the thing can understand the gnome, it nevertheless leaps at him, squeaking in rage only to receive a dagger wound to the chest that sends it tumbling to the floor. "HA HA! I got him!"

Although she is more concerned with the frustrated pygmy that has just opened a gash on her knee, Lureene's web spell continues to delay the last two enemies from joining the fight. They struggle and strain, but the unyielding fibers do not relinquish their grasp.

By the window, the pygmy Grak had injured continues to show single-minded determination in trying to scale the counter that is daunting it but only falling to the floor for its effort.
