It's been a while, but I don't recall anything about anyone coming from the Beggarwood. Amandine did mention possibly convincing/hiring some of the Beggarwood folks to guard supplies being sent to Jambis, but the idea was to go find them and make the offer.

News travels fast around these parts. With few other diversions, gossip is a popular pastime.
The people from the Beggarwood heard tell that Lady Betony was thinking about hiring them for a job (i.e. transporting supplies to Jambis), so the more eager among them decided to trek over to Stachys to offer their services so as to not miss out on this opportunity for work.

Amandine Santon |

Ah! That's a new wrinkle. I thought Lotheed and the tax collectors split the collected taxes in some way rather than Lotheed getting paid up front by them. Very interesting!

Dro'gan 'Manyfaces' |

Thanks to this reminder, I took some time to actually updated the loot log to reflect what you acquired from the pump house and the wand you were given for rescuing Festo Mise. I didn't include any treasure from Baron Telus' manor since, I believe, you decided to leave everything to him so he could begin rebuilding the barony. However, I may have him deliver certain magic treasures in the near future as a way to thank you for all you've done.
=)
Well if you want a wish list of possible low-level magic items or other stuff...
*Feather Tokens (any - but Dro'gan prefers the 'Bird' + 'Tree' ones most)
*Cloak of the Hedge Wizard (any)
*Sovereign Glue/Universal Solvent
*Wasp Nest of Swarming
*Various Wands/Scroll(s) of utility Bard spells
*Vambraces of Defense
More Expensive stuff: (eventually...?)
*Gloves of Storing
*Further Enchanting 'Godspike' with the 'Returning' or 'Called' ability (+1 Effective bonus cost)
*Enchant his Bladed Belt if possible...(+1 at least?)
*Further Enchant his armor more...
*Magic Tattoos (any)
Just some ideas.
=)

If everyone else is okay with it, I'll take the bracers of armor. I believe everyone else already has or can wear armor.
It looks like we didn't assign the wand of cure moderate wounds to anybody. Dro'gan and I are the only ones who can use it without a check. I think it would probably be best for him to have it, since I have plenty of other ways to heal people and it makes sure we don't have too many eggs in one basket.

Amandine Santon |

We also have the magical relic longsword Lidia has that's probably up for grabs at this point. If anyone can use it, take it. Amandine is wedded to rapiers due to her class proficiencies. Beside she's a wuss in combat.
Also Lidia has the relic crossbow Destiny's Barb. I suppose Amandine could use it, but she doesn't have feats free to use for ranged combat. Any takers?
Who has the Envoy Ring?
Probably the thing Amandine could use most is items to help boost her AC or INT. Maybe a wand of a useful spell from the Psychic list, or a Runestone of Power to cast an extra 1st or 2nd level spell per day.

Greenly Baerdóttir |

I have the Envoy Ring presently
What adventure hooks do we have about the county rn? I think two somethings about the Baron's land, one that like the Night Swan is a vengeful spirit that folks used to make sacrifices to on the lake? Obvi she's not but could be something there

Amandine Santon |

@Greenly: Ah, okay. I did a quick scan of sheets and didn't see it anywhere.
I think I do remember something about the lake, but I don't have time to search right now.

Dro'gan 'Manyfaces' |

I already have a Wand of Cure Light wounds with 50 charges in it.
Should I take both wands? That seems a bit much. How many charges does the Wand of Cure moderate have?
Did we lose Lidia? That sucks. I really liked her character.

Meraki Hannan |

Yeah, she's posting in her other games (though even then, not for the last couple weeks), but nothing here. I think we should probably recruit a replacement.
The CMW wand also has 50 charges. I can take one of them, then. I think I just felt bad about hanging on to 8,500 gp worth of items, even though most of that is for the party as a whole rather than a direct benefit to myself.

DM Vayelan |

Here are the rumors and leads you have heard but not investigated yet:
1) "You kids are too young to remember, but the Night Swan is clearly the spirit of Lauchlein Lake. Count Lotheed stopped sacrificing virgins to appease it like his father did, and no it's hunting the county again."
2) "Sotto hasn't paid their taxes in over a year, from what I hear, and they always seem to have some new excuse. Baroness Voinum's been stepping in to cover them, as I hear it, but the old girl can't keep Lotheed's soldiers from collecting their due forever."
3) "I hear tell an angler over in Pensaris had the General on her hook for a good 8 hours last month, and almost landed him. Shame no one's heard from her since."
...
Additionally, as other business to attend to and a possible use for excess loot, is continuing your investments in Stachys. You could select new improvements to fund to benefit the village and increase your Loyalty Points.

Greenly Baerdóttir |

Could we reach out before we recruit? IIRC, she was having some difficulty finding a balance with her games, maybe she's in a better spot now? But otherwise, yeah it is time :(
Thank you for reminding us our rumors, Vayelan!

Meraki Hannan |

Yes, definitely! I'm sorry if I seemed in a rush. I certainly don't have room to judge anyone on finding a proper balance!

Amandine Santon |

Sure, anyone want to message Lidia, or should I?
Maybe we can handle the two Lake adventures first. We could do those once we're back together and put things regarding Stacys and Jambis on autopilot while we wait for Okerra's reply to the visit request.
After that we write to Voinum about a visit and go to Sotto as well.

Dro'gan 'Manyfaces' |

Please go ahead: I doubt anything I could say could convince her to come back.
Also, I wouldn't mind looking into the 'Spirit of Lauchlein Lake' when we get the chance...another Swan? Perhaps.
@Meraki: Take the Cure Light wand then, and I will take the Cure Moderate. That makes it a nice back-up if you run out of normal healing. And the Cure Mod wand will allow me to help more easily when needed.

Dro'gan 'Manyfaces' |

Just to be clear:
1. I actually took the 8 points of damage. Right? I just saved against the secondary effects of the magic arrow?
2. Whose turn is it? Are we in initiative yet?

Meraki Hannan |

Posting this in all my games. I'm going to be traveling from June 8th through June 12th. I'll do my best to keep up in my free time, but don't let me hold you up.

Amandine Santon |

I'm very sorry for the long absence everyone. I was getting badly burned out by work especially, and life in general so I took the long holiday weekend to go to the beach and get away for a bit. That made coming back hard, and I just couldn't muster the energy to start back up with regular life. Took few days off for laying on the floor and staring at the ceiling, walking the dog a lot, eating a different kind of salad for every meal including breakfast, and spent one day doing nothing but laying on the couch and binging the entire 4th season of Stranger Things. In sum, avoiding everything.
I'm feeling better now so I'm in the process of getting caught up. Thank you for your patience.

Meraki Hannan |

Hi everyone, I'm back now! Working to get caught up myself. Glad you're feeling better, Amandine.

Dro'gan 'Manyfaces' |

I'm assuming all the valuable equipment we got from the Swan Maiden will be invested in the county? We get more value out of it that way anyway.

Meraki Hannan |

Agreed.

Dro'gan 'Manyfaces' |

I say Improvements first, Persona Phase next, then Lake cleanup.

Meraki Hannan |

I agree!

Hello everyone. I received a message from Amandine requesting that I return. I departed due to a lot of pressure from juggling too much d&d, and I'd be interested in returning now that that burden has lifted.
That is if you're okay with having me back. I understand that unannounced absences aren't good for morale.

First off...hurray!!! Olivia's back!!!
Second, I can understand the pressure of juggling too many games all too well, so I certainly don't begrudge you needing some time off.
Third, you are most certainly welcome back.
Fourth, hurray again!

Meraki Hannan |

Welcome back! I can empathize, I was having a lot of trouble juggling all of my commitments for a while there. I'm glad you feel up to rejoining us. :)

Dro'gan 'Manyfaces' |

The game would not be the same without you and Oliva's voice!
On that note...there was an embarrassing incident with our group vs. a Swan Maiden recently that I won't mention to anyone in the future, if you don't...
=/

Greenly Baerdóttir |

Hooray for Olivia!
Sidenote, did we ever use Festo Mise's temple gift? Because we could just take that for the shrine (4k) and then start working on the advanced temple (10k)
I remember us TALKING about the temple, with Olivia being like "we should make an Iomedae shrine" but I couldn't find it in a search

Meraki Hannan |

What improvements have we made so far? I know we've done both upgrades to the Pump House and repaired the Gold Canyon Bridge, but they're not marked as done on the sheet and I don't remember what else we may have finished.

DM Vayelan |

What improvements have we made so far? I know we've done both upgrades to the Pump House and repaired the Gold Canyon Bridge, but they're not marked as done on the sheet and I don't remember what else we may have finished.
The Stachys and Loyalty Tracker link at the top of the page leads to a spreadsheet with that info. The second tab documents the completed improvements and the benefits they provide.
These are the improvements you have built so far: Basic Farms, Basic Market, Mill, Advanced Pump House, Gold Canyon Bridge.

Meraki Hannan |

Ah! I was looking at the spreadsheet in Greenly's link, and assumed they were the same thing.
Okay, yes, I agree that we should spend the money from Festo on getting the shrine built. With the Market improvement, that will leave us with 1,400 GP toward the advanced temple's 9,000 GP cost, plus we have an additional 3,000 GP in materials from Atratus to use on anything.
Maybe we spend 900 of that on basic Civic Improvements? I think that should be the last step toward removing Stachys's "Gone to Seed" property. I'm not sure what that does, but it's probably a negative one!
Do we need to get the basic Pump House improvement separately, or is that included in the Advanced Pump House?

DM Vayelan |

I think you already paid for the Basic and Advanced Pump House repairs, but I forgot to note down the basic ones. I've corrected that.
I've also corrected the figures to reflect that the Basic Market reduced the cost for subsequent improvements by 10%.
The "Gone to Seed" quality reduces Stachys' Economy score by 4, halves the Base Value and Purchase Limit, and means that there is no available NPC spellcasting. Building the Basic Civic improvement and removing these penalties while make Stachys a more effective base of operations for the party.

Dro'gan 'Manyfaces' |

If basic Civil improvements are only 900 gold, let's do that.

Meraki Hannan |

Yep! And then a shrine, maybe with a fifth, very obscure deity. :)

Meraki Hannan |

Maybe a library is included in the Advanced Civic Improvements. :)

DM Vayelan |

The description for Advanced Civic Improvements is "Investing more money allows Stachys to renovate its waste systems, build new walkways, and construct new buildings," so a one-room schoolhouse could be among those new buildings.
Of course, the description for Advanced Temple is "With a sanctified altar, expanded library, and charitable infrastructure, Stachys develops one of the nicest temples in the region, providing free education, food, and shelter for locals."
Thus, there's a few potential options for a library or school.

DM Vayelan |

Also, regarding places of worship, Stachys starts out with a small roadside shrine to Abadar, Erastil, Iomedae, and Shelyn.
The description for the Basic Temple upgrade says that "with expensive construction this can be transformed into a small temple to any one of these gods."
I'll say that you could, alternately, build a temple to Nocticula, but this might be a hard sell to the locals, so I might have to rule that you'd only gain 1 Loyalty Point instead of 2.
However, I will also say that you could spend 1000gp to establish a shrine (rather than a full temple) to Nocticula, or you could purchase the Basic Temple upgrade multiple times to establish temples to other deities, as well.

Dro'gan 'Manyfaces' |

A temple to Abadar makes the most sense politically since it was that church that invested with us to do it. Correct?
