" I can't work like this" She drops the sling and pulls daggers. She than throws one through the opening.
[dice=attack]1d20+5
[dice=damage]1d3+1
Priscilla's dagger would have hit if not for the extra care she has to take to make sure she doesn't hit Wilfort or Tarvellin.
-4 throwing into melee.
Andrek Valorn
Round 2 Init 8
Andrek winces at the wolf bite and is mad at himself for being careless. He assesses the field getting the hang of the wolves' tactics and tells the barbarian, "Tarvelin get that wolf on the other side of you by Wilfort! I have this one and we are not letting them get away"
Assuming that Tarvelin does that he will attack the wolf at I13, otherwise if it is dead he will move to the one at J12

Greataxe Power Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18Wow. That hurts.
"Get down!" the raging dwarf yells at the gnome as he swings the greataxe around. The heavy blade cuts deeply into the wolf.
Ares Valorn
As the last of threat is taken out, Ares drops to one knee and digs his blade in front of him. He begins to pray, "Bladed Maiden these creatures were granted a honorable death, watch over them in the after life." As his prayer finishes he raises and pulls out a red cloth. The Aasimar says a small chant as he cleans off his sword then puts it back into the sheath. Ares looks to the group looking them over, "Everybody okay? By Muir, everyone handled themselves real well and be proud of granting these creatures a good death." He bows his head to the group.
Lucia Moonshadow
Huzzah! Good thing we've got a strong party. Lucia forgot to pick up Weapon Finesse so shes gonna be a little weak in the combat department until next level xP
"Well, it looks like I made the right choices when it comes to strong allies! Good job everyone." Lucia says, calmly brushing dirt off her pants.
Wilfort Spindlethwaite
The fates side with us this day. But don't get complacent, the fates always switch sides eventually. That is when the true test begins.
.
I don't know if any of you want to try and get a bit more rest. {shrug}Doesn't seem much point to me.
.
Let's drag the bodies out of sight down wind so they don't mess up our breakfast. The us casters can prepare for the day.
Priscilla Springheel
Gah my post never posted
"Sounds like a plan you big guys go pull the bodies away while the casters do there caster thing and I can get some more sleep"She says as she slides back down and begins to curl up.
"Seriously wake me when the food is done"she than goes back to sleep with a light snore.
Tarvelin
"I'm fine on rest. Shame these creatures don't have much meat on them. Wolf goes well in stews."
Tarvelin grabs two of the wolves by their back paws and carries them out of sight.
Ares Valorn
"Well come on hero of the fight, let's see that strength Muir gave ya and give us some help with them." Ares says to his brother with a smile.
Then Ares grabs a couple of wolves and helps the dwarf with the creatures, humming a lighter victory hymn song as he does so.
DM Grimmy
There are hills beginning 3 miles away in every direction except the one you came from.
The Azor river should be about 6 miles west, the Citadel of Griffons about 6 miles north.
The overgrown wagon trail where you camped winds North East for about 18 miles towards the Stoneheart River where it connects with an ancient road North to the Village of Taverlan.
Jeb Hardthorne
"Since we're up and it'll take a while to break camp, I am going to take care of these creatures."
After helping the others move the bodies of the wolves, Jeb drains them of blood and then skins them. Next he removes their fertility organs. He buries the bodies under moss and leaves.
Well fought, brothers. May you find worthy hunts in the next world. Your bodies will help enrich this land, by the will of Freya.
He then draws a falcon in the ground and lays the organs inside the outline atop kindling. He burns them in offering to his patron deity.
Survival to collect pelts: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
***********
Returning to camp Jeb has a collection of pelts on a cord.
"Shall we get going? It's early but that just means we'll get there sooner." He looks up to the sky. "Could be just as beautiful a day as yesterday."
Priscilla Springheel
knowledge(local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
"Seriously you all are tall" she says as she sighs not looking forward to this march. Damn long legged folk, with long strides, pfft. Let them walk a mile in my shoes and have to deal with my view. Grr,calm down Pris it could be worse, you could be next to the gnome!
Andrek Valorn
I believe we are heading north by north-west to the twin shrines? If so the towards the river the following it north?
Andrek continues to lead the group towards their destination Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 +1 More to Track
DM Grimmy
By 9 AM you have hiked into the foothills and sight the impressive 30' high walled fortification. At first you think there is a an aerial confrontation underway but soon you can see that Griffon Riders are engaged in some kind of drill in conjunction with siege weapon operators. The griffons are trailing sacks of grain to be burst by ballista bolts mid-air.
Andrek Valorn
Andrek looks at the griffons and the training exercise with awe. Turning to Ares he says, "To be honest I wasn't really wanting to divert here, but seeing this I am glad I let you talk me into it!"
He goes back to watching the sky show.
Lucia Moonshadow
Indeed. Lucia says, watching the graceful animals fly through the air.
Priscilla Springheel
She looks up at the sight and blinks." those things could swoop down and get me like a hawk hunting a rat!" She says sliding behind Tarvelin.
"Otherwise sure, aside from the halfling eating potential they are very majestic!"
Wilfort Spindlethwaite
Welp. Enough gawking. Job to do. Wondrous magestical bird watching later.
Anyone know if they would mind if we just walk on by or should we check in?
...
Or maybe they have some info we could use.
Yep, that makes sensibly logicness. Let's go say high to the birdy folks.
.
Prissy Pants, try not to get swooped on. Then he mutters to Fluffy Cuddles, Even if she does have some rat like resemblances.
Ares Valorn
"By Muir this is quite the sight!" Ares says as he watches the maneuvers, then nods in response to Wilfort as he brings them back to why they are actually here. He shakes his head to the comments to the Halfling and whsipers to Priscilla, "Don't worry I heard gryphons prefer the more earthy taste of gnomes and dwarves."
As they get to the gate house he produces the writ that was given to him from the high priest. Before he introduces himself he looks to Lucia, "I have the writ of authority Madame Moonshadow, since this is your party do you wish to talk with them or shall I?" Ha asks Lucia.
Lucia Moonshadow
"I will accompany you, but you may do the talking if you wish."
Priscilla Springheel
" Well I wouldn't mind to get under a nice solid roof were those giant bird things can't eat me, second I would love to come in for some ale...maybe a pie? If its not to much trouble?" She asked as she somehow managed to get tot he front to be seen. Standing there she tries to look all cute and childlike in hopes to win the man over.
Ares Valorn
Ares thumps his fist on his chest in salute to the Lyreguards and then points up, "First thank you for the show, second I am Ares Valorn servant of Muir. I am currently in the service of Lady Moonshadow here and we would like to speak to your commander." He shows the writ of authority to show his importance.
Lucia Moonshadow
Interesting, my post seems to have been lost to the abyss. Sorry for the delay.
"As my friend here has stated, we are just passing through and would like to speak to your commanding officer before moving on." Lucia says.
Wilfort Spindlethwaite
"Any chance I could ride one of those?" Andrek asks hopefully.
Oh! Oh! Me too! I want a ride on a gorgeous, exquisite, soaring, griffon!
..
.
And I want a bagel.
.
.
.
But FluffyCuddles doesn't. Want either one I mean. She wants to stay on the ground and doesn't like bagels. She wouldn't mind a mouse though if you still have any left over from breakfast.
Jeb Hardthorne
Jeb looks past the others to the front where the halfling woman is addressing the Lyreguard.
"I don't think those beasts will bother you, Priscilla!" he calls out. "It wouldn't be worth the hassle. It would be like Tarvelin snacking on a mouse pup. Wouldn't fill either of them up!" He throws his head back and for the first time since any of them met him, Jeb laughs. And a roaring laughter at that.
DM Grimmy
"Indeed!"
The Lyreguard lieutenant smiles.
"These Griffon's have been trained to control their appetite even for horses. A halfling certainly will not tempt them.
Please come inside. Our captain Imril is away on business to Bard's Gate. I am in charge here.
This letter says you travel to the Twin Shrines. We must discuss the route you have planned. There is activity in the Lyre Valley I should warn you about."
Lucia Moonshadow
"Excellent, thank you for aiding our effort. Lucia says, walking inside.
DM Grimmy
Inside the Citadel, Imril's Lieutenant and a Sheriff from Waymarch lead you to a meeting hall with a long table.
"The Lyre Valley is fraught as ever with peril. The usual Gnoll's are being challenged by a faction of Orcs. What troubles us most is that the movement of these orcs seems to center on the Black Mires at the Mouth of the Azor, North of Old Silverhelm, where the black dragon Calthraxus has long been rumored to make his lair."
