You cannot get that close without falling in Sorek.
Mojo, I cannot see how you would ever get sneak with them in the pit, but you kill the one you hit with your arrow.

"Yeah! I'll take a swig off of that!"
If a zombie crests the pit while Myrick's taking his turn, he will chuck the bottle at it.
Sorek
Myrick..beware the corrupting influence of Pekko...or at least the corrupting influence of her Warpriests
Sorek
I guess we are waiting on Lars then.
I think Lars and Myrick are having drinks while waiting for those of us with ranged weaponry to finish off the zombies. see below
Lars will take out some ale and start drinking. "Anyone feeling parched?"
Lomyldyr Dweo-Mercraeft
Lomyldyr will keep firing his bow at the zombies, focusing on any climbers.

Round 3
Now that he is in position and ready, the rogue waits for a zombie to climb and then fires at the more static target, aiming for the neck and throat as the undead shambles upwards pathetically.

"Great spell Lom...Like shooting fish in a barrel. And even better we got rid of them without having to wipe off exploding Zombie guts"
Myrick of Muir
"Good work and good ale. Maybe I will have to abandon my quest for a bow and carry more beer into the depths. Ha ha, just kidding. I do need to get a bow as soon as I find some coin or a bow laying around."
Mojo Sniffagem
"What of arras? I doan wanna go down to dem critters to fetch me arras. I not av many. They be goin' away one be one. The ever practical rogue counts his arrows left and counts as he goes.
"15 arras."
Brvheart, do all arrows get destroyed or can they be recovered some of the time? Arrows and rope next time.
brvheart
Generally speaking, ammunition that hits its target is destroyed or rendered useless, while ammunition that misses has a 50% chance of being destroyed or lost.
So what are you doing when the pit expires as it will do so in a few rounds?
Lomyldyr Dweo-Mercraeft
Lomyldyr nods to Sorek and the others, "Well done my friends. Beware the putrid liquid when the spell expires."
Lomyldyr shoulders his bow and moves to a safe distance.
Sorek
Heeding Loms advice Sorek avoids the pit area and the impending puddle that will form once the pit expires

You do know the demons are associated with disease. This seems like it may come from the same source.
Myrick of Muir
"Isn't that just the standard green slime that inhabits places like this? Well, let me see . . . "
Detecting evil on the sludge
Mojo Sniffagem
The goblin scuttles back away from the pit when the last zombie slumps into the green mud of the pit's bottom. He promptly forgets about the arrows he fired.
"Not like this zombie slime. It better not follow us.I be watching," he finishes with narrowed eyes.
Sorek
was it getting close to the wall or the puddle that made me roll the save?
Sorek
am I safe to explore the room now the I've resisted the effect? or do I feel like it could potentially affect me again if I stay near it?
brvheart
You don't think anything is completely safe against this demonic disease. You have resisted the effects once, but....
Sorek
Good thing we've got a 5th lvl Cleric
"be careful! Don't get too close to that foul stuff. "

brvheart
The north door opens to a hallway leading to another. There is a pool of Pestilence in the center of this room, door. The room contains a shelf with ten large, leather-bound books on it, as well as several copying tables. There is also a locked cabinet bolted to the north wall. At the north end of the room’s west wall, there is a bas-relief carving of a left hand.
Lomyldyr Dweo-Mercraeft
Lomyldyr will detect magic on the room. After Mojo checks the room for traps he will proceed to the books - giving the pool of pestilence a wide berth. After detecting magic specifically on the books he will scan the titles on the spines and will pull each one out individually to leaf through it.
brvheart
You detect magic from within the cabinet. The pool is 15' from the door so it will be difficult to 'give it a wide berth'. Only a couple of the books can be reached within the first 5' of the door.
Mystical Diagnostics
Introversions of Toxins
Lomyldyr Dweo-Mercraeft
Lomyldyr scowls, "We can't be deterred by the pestilence. Let's go in and stay to the left of the pool. I want to take a closer look at the books and there's something magical in the north cabinet."
He turns to Sorek and Mojo, "Lead on."
Mojo Sniffagem
Sighing inwardly, the goblin hugs the wall as he goes round the edge from the pool. He tries not to breathe as well but that doesn't work as his green skin gradually turns brown then red.
He heads for the far cabinet and gulps air before he works on the lock with his lucky ironpick.
