Righto, this is Johnnycat again. Since it looks like you may want to do this sooner rather than later I'll put my submission up for consideration right now. The crunch is up in the alias but I'm still putting the finishing touches on the background. I did spoiler a summary below that should give you a pretty good idea of who my character is:
Taunk Ironthane was once a soldier and knight until a local lord threw a fit that ended with several razed settlements, Taunk's hometown included among them. This caused the noble warrior to cast aside his sword and swear vengeance against the childish noble. At first he attempted to petition a dozen organizations for assistance but none wanted to get involved in an otherwise inconsequential dispute. Left with nothing else Taunk was forced to carry out the act himself. He used his former rank and reputation as a soldier to get close to his target while his martial prowess enabled him to carry out the deed. Now facing the consequences of his actions Taunk was spared solely thanks to the intervention on his behalf by an agent of the Red Mantis Assassins. They took him away and gave him a new identity, in exchange he joined their ranks as a loyal servant of Achaekek.
Among the Assassins he serves as an informant, often employed to infiltrate the ranks of military elements and provide further information and assistance for other agents. His experience with the role and otherwise unassuming appearance and personality make him ideal for this position. He also often assists with the escape once a job has been carried out; making the most of the ensuing chaos as well as his natural strength to cover the tracks of his allies
Basically Taunk is a big guy with a big shield that is good at pretending to be a normal rank-and-file soldier so that others will have a good stepping-off point for a job.
