Foolish is the party who does not follow its cleric's advice, so we return to Tenser's abode to spend the possibly last night of our lives and prepare for the Armageddon!


Tenser and his guests welcome you back to their Tower where they greet you with food and wine. They hear your stories and are amazed by your defeat of Lashonna, Dragotha, and the Broodfiends. Tenser addresses you, "You are the worthiest of heroes and tales of your exploits will live forever if we can stop the apocalypse. Lashonna and Dragotha were Kyuss' generals so you have greatly weakened his forces. However, he still has the power of a god. I have done all I can but I cannot stop the manifestation of Kyuss onto the Material Plane tomorrow. I promise I will delay it as much as possible to give you a fighting chance. Unfortunately, even I as an archmage, cannot offer much hope than that. You five have never let us down. The fate of the world is in your hands. It is a huge responsibility and one that I live with daily. My home is open to you and you may travel freely. I can arrange to have delivered whatever you need, be it food, delicacies, books, and any other pleasures, even of the flesh that you may desire this night. If you are shy, you may come ask me privately in my chambers for your heart's desire." Tenser smiles and answers any questions you may have at this time.

Valgrim asks the archmage for the finest dwarven spirit he has access to prior to dinner and then during dinner, he stands and toasts his friends and addresses Tenser/Manzorian after his speech: "You may see this as our last supper before the apocalypse, Archmage and I understand your point of view, but you have not lived or seen the battles I have with these friends here present for the past years, ever since our foray into the Whispering Cairn. We have faced death and undeath at every turn and survived, thanks to the skills of my friends. So I know this with the greatest of certainty, that we will survive tomorrow, and we will prevail. So save your whores and whatever other earthly pleasures you offer, no disrespect intended, because this is what is going to happen. Tonight I am going to drink and drink of these fine dwarven spirits until I pass out and you're all free to join me. Then tomorrow, Friar's feast will cure me of any hangover and we will go do battle with the remainder of Kyuss' forces, including Maralee who we have yet to see, and then deal with a god. And after we defeat it, however we manage to do it, and stave off the Age of Worms, we are going to bask in the praise of the city. Then after the celebrations die down, I am going to take my share of the immense Dragotha hoard and I am going to find myself a fine dwarven lass and I am going to make a litter of babies and go retire as a dwarven king in some mountain range. Once done, he stands in silence as his audience waits, unsure if more is coming. He gives them a deep and respectful bow as the ghostly bard disappears. ”This will have to be the performance of several lifetimes. If you’ll excuse me, at this moment, another voice calls to me.”

The half-orc cordially makes his exit, politely visiting with those that wish to critique or praise his spontaneous poetry, but eventually making his way out of the room to a window where he stares off into the distance, remembering someone he had never expected to find and hoping that she is able to escape harm in the battles to come.

After your Feast and buffs, Manzorian and Agath wish you well, before they teleport you to the Tower. You appear and see nothing has changed from whence you left the battle the day before. The corpses of Dragotha and Brazzemal still litter the battlefield. You fly up as before, with Exousia carrying Bubba, while Friar activates his Boots of Flying. You pass the empty corridors of enemies you have cleared out previously. You reach 100' from the base of the Spire and continue flying up. You pass by the area with the three Broodfiends you killed previously and continue rising up for another 200'. You now find yourselves 600' in the air, when you reach another balcony, 150' high. As you look in, you see an assortment of enemies have gathered here, perhaps their last stand, in defense of the Spire: You count 2 Broodfiends and 9 Kyuss Knights, all flying or Air Walking, one of which is distinctly the leader and quite different from the rest, as it wears a face-plate and has wild white hair. To those with a sharp sight (Perception +15 and higher), you can tell the emaciated undead form may have been a woman in life. Perhaps because you were once infused with Balakarde's spirit, but you instinctively know this is Maralee, the dead archmage's daughter. She commands in a powerful voice, "Death to the intruders! Our god Kyuss commands it!"

Alie could only think about escape, so she cast a Quickned Dimension Door to move 40’ to the right, putting her group in between she and the fiend.


A confident maralee walks forward 40', wielding her executioner's mace, and looks upon Valgrim and Exousia who are now within 30' of her. Her terrible gaze starts to affect your eyes, causing you pain!
