The Tomb of Horrors Part 1 (4e) - Group 1

Game Master Rev Rosey

The monster that is Tomb of Horrors.
Two groups are going through this.
For some reason I set up a second game thread for Group 2, but not for Group 1.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

I don't think this hits.

Melee Basic (She attempts to stomp on it's head): 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (9) + 23 = 321d8 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Internalize the Basic Kata (Feat): Anri may now activate Flurry of Blows with a melee basic attack, IF the melee basic attack hits. I don't THINK it hits, but it IS prone, so she MIGHT get lucky.

Flurry of blows: 7 Damage, slide gargoyle 1 (+1) squares to Ii11-12...it's large sized, you get the idea. The reason I haven't moved him yet on the dabbleboard, is because I'm not entirely sure if that was good enough to hit. If it did: Combat advantage for EVERYONE!

Nothing like a good ole glory stomp.

Rothel and Anri join forces to inflict more hurt on the stone beastie. The newcomer stubs her toe on its head, narrowly missing.

The gargoyle shuffles closer and reaches out with four clawed arms at the nearest intruders.

Crawls - so Lyan and Anri both get OAs.

Mauling Claws (AC). Four claw attacks, no more than two to a single target. On hit target takes 10 ongoing (se). If a target is hit twice, it is dazed (se).
Targets Lyan x 2, Anri x 2
1d20+23=30 v Lyan. Miss.
1d20+23=27 v Lyan. Miss.
1d20+23=31 v Anri. Ack. Don't know if that hits or misses. Anri, can you get some stats in your profile for me please?

If the gargoyle moved away from Rahz-Ahk without shifting the spirit gets an OA.

If that's the case Spirit's Fangs 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28 vs Ref, damage 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13. That may just be a miss.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Fort: 25, Ref: 30, Will: 31, AC: 34. It's a total miss.

Melee Basic (OA): 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 251d8 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13 Add combat advantage to the attack roll, and that's still only 27.

Ouch. Well, she's going to go for the Drunken Monkey then!

Drunken Monkey (Attack) (Dex vs. Will): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (11) + 20 = 311d8 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Ouch. Her Kung Fu No Good here? Well, it's vs. Will, so here's hoping it DOES hit, I'm pushing him down one square: Once again, CA For Everyone. And then the gargoyle has to make a Melee Basic Attack against itself with a +5 bonus to the roll. Furthermore, if it hits, Flurry of Blows hits for +7 damage. I won't slide him, because Drunken Monkey already pushed the guy where we want him.

The companions gain only bruises as they try and fail to hit the gargoyle.

Thank you :) That's very helpful. If you could start adding in the powers and skills as well, it would be even more so. Alternatively, if you upload her into iPlay4e and post a link that works too. Basically, if anyone ever needs to run her, the information has to be available.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Sorry I posted so late guys. It was a hell of a day.

Anri's eyes are fueled with murderous intent.

"crush-you-crush-you-crush-you-CRUSH YOU!"

Melee Basic: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (16) + 23 = 391d8 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Forgot to add the +5 to Hit and Damage, +2 from CA. I also forgot that if it hits, it automatically deals max damage. I'm assuming this hits and thus automatically deals 23 damage.

(Feat): Internalize the Basic Kata, Anri applies Flurry of Blows to her Melee Basic Attack.

+7 Damage. (30 total so far)

Anri's normal turn begins.

Anri holds up her dagger, and lightning flows from it around her body. Then she spins around to perform the deadliest technique of Tae Kwan Leep upon the stunned Gargoyle: Boot to the head.

Arc of the Flashing Storm (Lightning)(Dexterity vs Reflex): 1d20 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 20 + 2 = 272d10 + 10 ⇒ (6, 8) + 10 = 24

Hmmm. This probably isn't going to hit, even with the CA. Can somebody give her another bonus? Because if this hits, she can push the gargoyle 3 squares in any direction, and THAT would set off the environmental hazard and do another 4d10 damage to it.

IF somebody can give her another bonus, making the attack hit: she pushes the gargoyle away from the party, forces it to set off the environmental hazard, and then uses the "Arc of the Flashing Storm" movement power to teleport after it. Otherwise, Anri's turn ends here.

Anri Vitals:
AC: 34 (36), (39 vs Gargoyle)(+1 Fluid Ki Focus, +2 Defensive Advantage Feat, +2 from Lisbarr). Fort: 25 (27), Ref: 30 (32), Will: 31 (33).

Unless someone can give you +5, that second attack isn't going to hit.

Anri's fists and feet remove another chunk of rock from the gargoyle's hide, but her dagger is less effective. The blade clatters against the stunned creature, but cannot do any futher damage.

We all delay our turns with prepared actions with our favorite attacks for when it drops it's stone form? Makes sense to me.

Paizo flipped out on me and wouldn't load.

Rothel, there is nothing more to learn. You can't bypass the statue form or stop it regenerating. It is what it is.

Lyan and Lisbarr contemplate the room as Anri outlines her battle plan. Apart from leaving and going back the way you came, there is no other way out. If you wish to battle Moghadam, you will need to find a way past the gargoyle.

Lisbarr's attention is attracted to the plinths on each wall. It seems to him that one of them may conceal an exit, but he will have to risk moving adjacent to each of them to be sure.

List your readied actions, if this is what you're going to do. Still in init order, so Norrin is up.

Norrin - 10 ongoing (se)?
Rothel
Gargoyle - can only move adjacent to Lyan to end Lyan's next turn; under Akemi's Oath; stone form (resist 30 all, regen 5, tremorsense 10)
Anri
Lisbarr
Akemi
Lyan

M Hobgoblin Battlemind/Quicksilver Demon 17 (Foe Killer)

Clarification -- I didn't intend for trying to remember that to be Lyan's whole turn, and I was asking about other routes we hadn't tried yet before getting to this room. Thanks!

Norrin also gets that immediate save vs ongoing on my turn.

Akemi will ready Bond of Pursuit next turn, to strike the moment it turns out of stone.
