I thought we were using the speeder to get to the Hutt - which is the whole reason we went through that.
You can take the speeder to the Hutt or the Interceptor. Your choice but I wanted to get Noss back into the game first. The Hutt is NOT in the city to be clear.
Gamemaster the Dark Side |
So... how do I use this spice to save my butt? :)
A simple injection and it will fight the infection. May want to give the Niktu one as well.
Taras Vaskor |
Oh, I thought our reasoning behind getting the speeder was so we didn't show these guys our fancy Sith ship. I'm fine with swinging by the ship to pick up Noss--give him a ring on the old commlink--but I figured we'd do it stealthy-like, so they don't know for sure where the ship is or what it looks like.

I figure that if you want to keep these guys silent you can just silence them. Though it seems like Cardis will honor the deal with Biggs, guess I'll find out as we progress. The Nikto though has to go as your "mission" is to slay the Hutt and he is one the Hutt's bodyguards.
Gamemaster the Dark Side |
Now that we ave discussed what is what we can have slight retcon where Noss meets you near the ship and these two do not see it. Either way, let me know when you are all ready to proceed now that the entire group is back together.
Noss Varra |
Getting a ping on the commlink, finally, Noss growls into the communication device, "About time...yes, I'll meet you at that intersection..."
Glad to be out of the confines of the ship, Noss grabs his gear, and, after securing the ship's systems and ensuring the cloak remains ,descends the gangplank, pressing the button to seal the ship.
Stepping back, he can't help but admire the tech that makes the cloak possible.
He strolls casually to the meetup point...

So...I'm wondering something. What would happen if, say, we decided not to execute Miko, and instead found where Popara actually was and returned Miko to him, and then told Popara that Zonnos hired us to kill Miko initially? Just as a hypothetical.
Well Miko IS Popara's favorite. Hypothetically I would say that you would probably get what you wanted anyway, hypothetically speaking of course! Plus there is no longer a PvP aspect to the game so there is no chance of the Jedi showing up to rescue him as you seek to slay him. Well no PC Jedi anyway...

Endregaard - Day 4 - Mid-Day - The Forest Near the Infiltrator
The Sith agents along with the Nikto and the scoundrel Biggs finally return to the area near the infiltrator. The spot where there is an actual path through the woods. Biggs jumps in surprise as Noss casually strolls out of the woods and steps onto the transport.
Biggs regards Noss, "You must be one tough SOB to have been out here for a few days like that. Name's Biggs, I am your new, uh contact for lack of a better term coming to my mind".
The Nikto seems anxious, "As long as we can use it to find my employer I don't care what it looks like!"
The transport speeds through the woods under the steady hand of Cardis. Praxis gives a dose of the spice to himself. Do you inoculate the Nikto?
The sun begins to set as the Nikto keeps repeating, "It's close. It's close. Soon we must cut off the path. It's close. It's close".
Do you push through into the night or set up camp? It seems you will NOT be able to reach the crash site before the sun disappears.
Praxis Thorpe |
if theres enough, i hold it out to him.
"Take it. You're no good to us dead."

Cardis Rin |
Basically I'm wondering if Zonnos will try to double-cross us to avoid giving us the routes through the cluster, or if he even has them.
Oh, and I wasn't worried about any Jedi. I was going to use my Deception to trick the Hutt into thinking they were the assassins so his guards would deal with them while we "rescued" the Hutt.
Cardis looks at the setting sun before turning to Biggs and the Nikto. "What sort of dangers prowl the woods at night? What are we likely to be attacked by if we try to push on?"
Noss Varra |
Noss casually nods and raises a hand to Cardis and Taras, but grins wolfishly at Praxis, "A little under the weather ?"
He turns to Biggs after the man addresses him, looks aside at the Nitko , then addresses his comrades, "What's the story with these? I heard bits and pieces over the comm..."

Endregaard - Day 4 - Evening - The Forest
Biggs shrugs, "Lagartidark is the greatest danger out here. It's a huge lizard with a poor disposition that hails from this portion of the galaxy, specifically this world. Think reptilian Gundark but not quite as tough. They are usually out in the deserts but sometimes they can be found in the forest too.
Not sure if we'd be attacked with greater or less frequency if we move through the woods, I never came out here much except to raid the occasional spice delivery.
Though the swoop gangs used to a be a big problem, outside of the city. Now they're a big problem inside of the city".
Taras Vaskor |
"I think we can deal with a big lizard." Taras folds his arms and looks to the others to see what they think. "But camping down for the night might be a good idea, too."

Endregaard - Day 5 - The Prize
As the sun begins to rise the beacon indicates that the ship is quite close by! Once Garrett passes along that realization the group sees a handful of Nikto standing on top of a small cliff. They train blaster rifles upon your transport!
The Nikto riding with you grins, "He is still here, hand me a comm!"
Currently they are 30 squares away with partial cover.

Endregaard - Day 5 - The Prize
He grabs the comm, "It is I Orgamon. I have brought assistance to help Exalted Mika from the planet!"
The comm crackles in response, "Orgamon, the Master was rescued but yesterday. We do need a transport for the spice Master wishes to get off of the planet..."
Orgamon's body slumps, "I have failed..."
Taras Vaskor |
My only plan that makes sense with Taras is a rash one involving killing our friend Orgamon and offering our transport to the other Nikto (planning to double-cross them once we know where we're going, of course). I figured giving someone else a chance to do something might be wise :)
Noss Varra |
Oops, sorry....
Noss leans over and turns off the comm and gets uncomfortably close to Orgamon, "You'll be dead....and so will they..." he says softly, ominously, "Your only chance of a longer life is to answer the following two questions: Will this spice go to where Mika is? Where is Mike!"
Cardis Rin |
Cardis curses. If only he'd gotten the Nikto yesterday, they'd have gotten to the Hutt first. This wasn't good. They could not fail in this. A new plan was needed. "Stand down, Salacious. Threats will get us nowhere. Orgamon, tell your compatriots to meet us at the crash site. We'll discuss the spice then."
Gamemaster the Dark Side |
Endregaard - Day 5 - The Prize
The Nikto looks taken aback at the threat then turns his eyes to Cardis, "I will".
He opens the comm and informs his compatriots that your group will now head to the site.
The transport arrives at the crash site. Somehow, the ship managed to find one of the few overhanging cliffs in this desolate part of the planet large enough for it not to be seen from the sky. Not that it mattered, the Sith crew did not head in this direction as part of their search pattern.
Small chunks of metallic debris litter the ground but are organized into piles, it seems the Nikto have been busy cleaning the site up. Blaster marks can also be seen on the rocks, there appears to have been a fight here very recently. The sight of three dead Nikto does not move any of you. Biggs asks out loud, "Did Mika go willingly or was he taken?"
The bulk of the starship rests intact lodged into the outcropping. Next to the rocks are the remnant of a makeshift tent, a large makeshift tent.
The Nikto approach, including the ones from the ridge, there are seven in all.
Orgamon replies in common, "Beings who wish to aid the Exalted one..." he pauses and looks at Noss. "I think".
Noss Varra |
Noss waves off Cardis' objections , but nonetheless withdraws from threatening Orgamon further.
As they land he makes a curcuit of the crash area, looking for clues as to who attacked, his head rising at Bigg's salient question.

Orgamon translates into common once more, "Willingly".
The Nikto watch Noss take survey of the crash site but do not say anything or impede him in any way.

Endregaard - Day 5 - The Prize
Orgamon looks a bit sheepish, "He said that one of those who came to meet with Mika wore a lightsaber at her belt..."

I apologize for being absent for a while. I had to force-disconnect myself from the internet for a while and it made doing play-by-post games difficult.
However, that is part of the reason for this post. I've realized that I've been putting way too much time into play by posts, and have signed into WAY too many games for me to reasonably handle with my current workload and changes to my life situation. I needed to cut down the number of games I am in, and this one is one of them. I am sorry. I was having fun, but these games were getting to be one of my causes of stress, and that was what tipped things for me. Thank you for the opportunity to play with you all, and I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Endregaard - Day 5 - The Prize
Orgamon turns back to hi Nikto compatriot and asks that same question.
Orgamon turns back, "They are not sure..."
The Nikto's response is cut off by the sound of speeders, many speeders, racing this way. One of the Nikto still on the ledge above watching shouts down,
Orgamon frowns, "The CSA?"
No worries Praxis, when something that is supposed to be fun causes stress it ceases to be fun. Take care.
Cardis Rin |
Cardis curses. The CSA could not know they were here - that's why they killed the one back there. "Here's the deal. We'll take the spice and get it away from the CSA if you tell us what direction Mika went in. It's the only offer you're going to get, so you'd better take it."
Best of luck, Praxis! I hope life calms down for you!
Related, I've been undotted from all of the games I'm in. You might want to check yours.
Taras Vaskor |
Apparently it was a site-wide issue. I think they finally got it fixed again a couple hours back.
Taras folds his arms and stands beside Cardis, ready to move if need be. Part of him is still itching for more fighting--it's what he lives for as a Sith, what we he was made for as an Arkanian--but most of him knows it's best if the Niktos make the smart move and take the deal so they can all leave. A prolonged encounter with the CSA wouldn't be beneficial to anyone.

Endregaard - Day 5 - The Prize
The Nikto shakes his head at Cardis and Orgamon,
Orgamon turns back to Cardis, "There's a lot of it, too much to load and get away with right now he says".

Endregaard - Day 5 - The Prize
Two of the CSA soldiers ride around the outcropping but from the sounds echoing there are plenty more where they came from.
"In the name of Commander Angela Krin, we order your group to submit for inspection!"
The Nikto grip their weapons tightly and Orgamon turns to the Sith, "Can you negotiate for us? My people will fight and die if you do not..."
See Confrontation with the CSA map above if you want to initiate combat.
Cardis Rin |
"Just find out which way Mika went, Orgamon. I'll try to negotiate. No promises, though."
Motioning Noss, Taras, and Praxis to take up ambush positions, Cardis strides forward, waving to the two CSA soldiers.
"Good day to you both! Tell me, what brings you out here on such an inspection trip? With all the plague problems in the city, I would think your efforts would be far better focused on containment than investigating a crashed ship - especially one that has been down here for several days."

The CSA men look at each other and the speaker replies, "You don't look much like a Hutt Thug. We are here because we think that the spice that's being sold on the black market is coming from this ship. It's causing a lot of problems and we are looking to confiscate it. It's called Tempest.
Now who are you and what are you doing out here?"
Sorry for the delay guys, the week got away from me!
Cardis Rin |
"Kadavo Spectre, and you are correct - I am not a Hutt thug. I'm a spacer and salvager who was trapped here by your blockade. In the interest of ensuring my own health, I've been mostly avoiding settlements. I came upon this crash and have been looking over it for a couple days now. I haven't found any evidence of spice, however. I did find a ship that hadn't crashed near one of the outposts. It was locked up and I didn't bypass the security system, but it was in much better shape than this one. Perhaps that is the source of the spice. I can show you where I found it if you have a map."
Deception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
If he does, Cardis will show him where to find the ship that we rigged with the thermal detonator.
