Taedric smiles grimly, "If so, I'll buy you a drink at the next tavern."

Abbas raises his quarterstaff higher, spreading the pool of golden torchlight to its widest. Just so he can see better.
The holy warrior squints up into the sharp stalactites and scans around the blunt stalagmites looking for an ambush. After Elinor's whistle they should have had plenty of time to prepare a good one.
Even so, he grins a brilliant smile at her quip to Pluchak, all perfect white teeth and handsome heroic looks.

The light from Abbas staff does not reveal any hidden assailants. it also does not reveal the source of the scratching sound. Nor does it reveal what made that new noise deeper in... the sound that was very similar to what a tipped cart of gravel might sound like. But, then, it stops as soon as it starts.

Taedric chuckles, "Let's see if it falls for that."

In response to Elinors taunt, from the same area as the scratching sound comes a wet guttural yell, in giant. Somewhere in the blackness deep in the cavern the gravel noise is heard several minutes after Elinor speaks. Another quiet minute and then the scratching and gravel noise are heard again.

Pluchak del Oktar |

The half orc shrugged, "I guess he did." Leaning his bardiche on his shoulder, he cracked his knuckles. He looked at Abbas. "I suppose it's back to work. You ready? Already he was hearing the roaring in his ears. This was going to be a good fight.

Taedric Starfell |

Taedric laughs, "Can you use the dulcet voice to get him to show himself?"

Taedric Starfell |

Taedric sighs and spins his hand in a circle, drawing upon his feygift to hurl spinning balls of light into the area from which the voice seemed to originate.
"No sense going in blind," he offers.

Brandishing her weapon Elinor moves cautiously towards the voice they heard in the darkness. Illuminated by Taedrics enchantments and supported by Bryndyn she rounds a large stalagmite. Nothing could prepare her for what she sees. There impaled on a another stalagmite is a troll. He uses his claws to push himself up, but the effort wounds him anew and he passes out. Moments later his regeneration lets him have another try. He has been here for a while as is evidenced by the gore on the ground. If this was a human, the pain would have pushed it well into madness, though who can say if things work the same for trolls.
When the troll sees Elinor it lashes out with its claws. it is too far away to reach her of course, but it does not stop it from trying to cause harm.

Pluchak del Oktar |

"There's no way it would have done that to itself. Be wary. There's something meaner than a troll down here. And I mean besides me." Pluchak gave the group a toothy grin, and then spat some acid on the troll's head.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Acid Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Taedric offers, "If anyone speaks Giant, maybe it can tell us what did this. Assuming the pain hasn't driven it mad?"
