Ibrah moves to flank the bug with Verrin while Khartelosch maintains the front and reach withhis hhammer. The bug lets out at Verrin again.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
GM Gristle
Ibrah moves to flank the bug with Verrin while Khartelosch maintains the front and reach withhis hhammer. The bug lets out at Verrin again.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Again, the bug creature struggles with disorientation as it misses Verrin.
Khartelosch
With the flanking in place, Khartelosch lets loose at the bug, swinging his lucerne hammer in a wide arc to profit from his power attack.
atk: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 2 = 21
dmg: 1d12 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
This time he connects with the satisfying crunch of cracking chitin (I hope).
Verrin Kord
Verrin continues to aim a flurry of stabs at the giant insect. (or moves over to his cousin)
attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 21
damage: 1d8 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 16
attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 27
damage: 1d8 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 15
GM Gristle
How did I lose a post here?
Silvash's arrow flies over the shoulder of the raging bug man, but Khartelosch's hammer followed by the precise strikes of Verrin's sword leave the creature battered and struggling.
Thaane
Thaane reloads in lightning speed as the next bug approaches from behind.
Thirteen
Thaane takes aim and then lets loose of two slugs.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Damage: 2d8 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8
The bullets shred through the natural armor, but not really into a vital part of the creature causing him to spill his vile ochre in rage.
GM Gristle
The large bug creature snaps after Verrin with his two giant claws.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
ATTACK 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Damage claw 1: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (3, 7) + 4 = 14
Verrin's torso is sliced open, but not into any vitals, though he begins to bleed profusely.

Round 3
Ibrah
Silvash
Khartelosch
Verrin
The new creature moves forward to flanked Verrin as the old creature tires.
Khartelosch
"Verrin, retreat behind me, these things are deadly!" Khartelosch advises and attacks the first bug in rage, hoping to deny them opportunities to flank him and his allies.
atk: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
dmg: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
oops, it's dmg: 1d12 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Verrin Kord
Grr... they sting a bit.
just on the off chance, flowing monk redirection on the new bug for a immediate action trip attempt.
trip: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 [ooc]Not likely
Verin sweeps his leg at the insects but it has too many to stand on to fall for his trick. He begins to chant ominously and he strikes at his prior target and steps back away from both foes.
attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 1 - 2 = 10
damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Spellcombat, strike at the original bug, then 5 ft away from both if possible to cast shield. If he can't get out of threat, use concentration below
concentration: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
One for two on actions isn't bad. AC 24 now.
Ibrah Narishtahir
Watch for the opening he leaves, right--------now! Ibrah shouts as he strikes at the bug.
Temple Sword, Attack, Advice, Flank, Divine Favor: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 23
Temple Sword, Damage, Advice, Divine Favor: 1d8 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 12
GM Gristle
Silvash's arrow goes wide as the first bug creature is dropped by Ibrah's blade. The second creature shrieks furiously and advances toward Ibrah.
Working on map now.
GM Gristle
More of the bug's shell flies off it's frame as it spills the dark sanguine. Meanwhile, the echo of gunfire in a cavern is starting to pain the ears of the party.
GM Gristle
With my current tech and time, maps are slowing me down. I do like them though.
Ibrah and Verrin, go ahead and act.
Silvash misses the creature as it retaliates agains Khartelosch for the massive damage he inflicted to its shell that is partially hanging off of it's body
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Stunned by the blow, the creature clings to life and its massive mandible misses the warrior, Khartelosch.
Ibrah Narishtahir
Ibrah flourishes his blade before driving it once more against the bug's carapace. We have him--press the attack!
Temple Sword, Attack, Advice, Flank, Divine Favor: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 18
Temple Sword, Damage, Advice, Divine Favor: 1d8 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 8
Verrin Kord
Leary of another powerful bite like he had experienced before, Verrin circles the creature and attacks from the side.
attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 22
damage: 1d8 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 15
GM Gristle
Verrin's attack was the last that the beast could handle as it came crashing down with a loud thud. The chamber is pretty dark with just some dim glowing light passing through what appears to be a sturdy portcullis along the back wall. Some sort of faint soft whistling sound can be heard in the cavern, almost like a wheezing.
GM Gristle
WEEEEEOOOOORRRKKKNGGGGUNG!
An even larger bug creature appears out of the shadows and strikes at Ibrah.
Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Damage: 3d8 ⇒ (4, 5, 2) = 11
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Damage: 3d8 ⇒ (7, 3, 8) = 18
The giant bug alpha shreds through the might apeman rendering him unconscious and bleeding.
Verrin Kord
Is there no end to these things?
Verrin casts in infernal and his blade is covered in lightning, he then leaps forward and stabs his blade in to a weak point.
attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 1 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 5 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 1 + 1 = 12 + shocking grasp: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 4) = 15
GM Gristle
Ibrah takes heavy damage as the alpha cuts into him deeply with a bug claw.
Verrin and Silvash's timed attacks seem to catch it off guard. It is at least two times the size of the other bugs, but Verrin's grasp seems to almost stun it for a second as it recoils rhythmically to it.
Thaane
Thaane is almost paralyzed with fear at the size of this creature as it thrashes about savagely.
Uh, Khartelosch, you had better come here.
Trying to conserve bullets, Thaane holsters the pistol in favor of his blade.
GM Gristle
The bug strikes out at Verrin.
Claw: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
damage: 3d6 + 13 ⇒ (4, 4, 2) + 13 = 23
His claw rips deeply into Verrin as well who bleeds at the same rate as his comrade Ibrah.
Khartelosch
When Khartelosch first hears Thaane's comments, assuming they echo enough in the tunnel for him to be aware of them, he stops advancing and listens, picking up the sound of combat. He turns around and hurries back to the large chamber, his weapon at the ready.
Upon seeing the chitinous monstrosity standing over the unconscious Ibrah and heavily bleeding, now partially obscured Silvash, he advances in a rage, swinging his lucerne hammer in a wide arc over his head and attacks.
"Ancestors by my side, for the situation is dire!" (If we are using hero points, he spends one right now.)
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 (+8 more if we can spend a hero point)
damage: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
GM Gristle
The mighty bug alpha is startled and damaged by both Silvash's arrow and the thunderous smack of Khartelosch's hammer. Yet in a fury, it fights on.
GM Gristle
The bug has found anew foe in Khartelosch. His giant mandible stretches forth like lightning in an attempt to separate Khartelosch from his head.
Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Khartelosch is caught by the giant mandible.
Damage: 3d6 + 8 ⇒ (5, 1, 5) + 8 = 19
He joins the unconscious Verrin and the hemorrhaging Ibrah with a deep wound of his own. The gushing blood is not enough to stop his rage.
Khartelosch
As yet unwilling to succumb to the overgrown cockroach, Khartelosch again swings his lucerne hammer, hoping the creature cannot take much more beating and that his allies can hold out for a few more seconds.
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
dmg: 1d12 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
GM Gristle
Let's kill this thing and then we can level!
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Verrin is stabilized. Ibrah and Khartelosch still have fight in them.
Realizing that Thaane is now a threat, the beast lunges for him.
If Ibrah or Khartelosch have AOO, they could use it now.
claw: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Damage: 3d6 + 8 ⇒ (6, 1, 2) + 8 = 17
Thaane is slashed across the chest in the same manner as the others sharing in their pain.
