Game Master vonklinen

Campaign beginning with 2nd level multi-class PC's. Takes place in a wasteland. PC's are asked to provide security for a caravan heading to an industrial and trade center. Homebrew to follow RAW as closely as possible. I am an inexperienced GM, so looking for patient adventurers. Unique and exciting characters will be given preference.

25 point buy, medium XP track, mythic tiers after level 5.

With the flanking in place, Khartelosch lets loose at the bug, swinging his lucerne hammer in a wide arc to profit from his power attack.

Silvash's arrow flies over the shoulder of the raging bug man, but Khartelosch's hammer followed by the precise strikes of Verrin's sword leave the creature battered and struggling.

Thaane reloads in lightning speed as the next bug approaches from behind.

Thaane takes aim and then lets loose of two slugs.

Damage: 2d8 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8

The bullets shred through the natural armor, but not really into a vital part of the creature causing him to spill his vile ochre in rage.

The large bug creature snaps after Verrin with his two giant claws.

Verrin's torso is sliced open, but not into any vitals, though he begins to bleed profusely.

Verin sweeps his leg at the insects but it has too many to stand on to fall for his trick. He begins to chant ominously and he strikes at his prior target and steps back away from both foes.

damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Spellcombat, strike at the original bug, then 5 ft away from both if possible to cast shield. If he can't get out of threat, use concentration below

One for two on actions isn't bad. AC 24 now.

More of the bug's shell flies off it's frame as it spills the dark sanguine. Meanwhile, the echo of gunfire in a cavern is starting to pain the ears of the party.

Silvash misses the creature as it retaliates agains Khartelosch for the massive damage he inflicted to its shell that is partially hanging off of it's body

Stunned by the blow, the creature clings to life and its massive mandible misses the warrior, Khartelosch.

Leary of another powerful bite like he had experienced before, Verrin circles the creature and attacks from the side.

Current map

Verrin's attack was the last that the beast could handle as it came crashing down with a loud thud. The chamber is pretty dark with just some dim glowing light passing through what appears to be a sturdy portcullis along the back wall. Some sort of faint soft whistling sound can be heard in the cavern, almost like a wheezing.

Ibrah mumbles a few words and makes a gesture--his belt begins to glow, illuminating some of the room. That noise. He tries to locate where the whistling, wheezing sound is coming from.

Khartelosch quickly goes back to recover the unconscious deep dwarf, provided he's still there, and brings him back to the larger room where Ibrah is searching.

An even larger bug creature appears out of the shadows and strikes at Ibrah.

Damage: 3d8 ⇒ (7, 3, 8) = 18

The giant bug alpha shreds through the might apeman rendering him unconscious and bleeding.

Verrin casts in infernal and his blade is covered in lightning, he then leaps forward and stabs his blade in to a weak point.

Ibrah takes heavy damage as the alpha cuts into him deeply with a bug claw.

Verrin and Silvash's timed attacks seem to catch it off guard. It is at least two times the size of the other bugs, but Verrin's grasp seems to almost stun it for a second as it recoils rhythmically to it.

Thaane is almost paralyzed with fear at the size of this creature as it thrashes about savagely.

Trying to conserve bullets, Thaane holsters the pistol in favor of his blade.

Thaane reaches forth and with an incantation summons forth a cloud of mist around Verrin that shrouds him from the vision of the creature as he lies prone.

When Khartelosch first hears Thaane's comments, assuming they echo enough in the tunnel for him to be aware of them, he stops advancing and listens, picking up the sound of combat. He turns around and hurries back to the large chamber, his weapon at the ready.

Upon seeing the chitinous monstrosity standing over the unconscious Ibrah and heavily bleeding, now partially obscured Silvash, he advances in a rage, swinging his lucerne hammer in a wide arc over his head and attacks.

"Ancestors by my side, for the situation is dire!" (If we are using hero points, he spends one right now.)

attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 (+8 more if we can spend a hero point)

damage: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

The mighty bug alpha is startled and damaged by both Silvash's arrow and the thunderous smack of Khartelosch's hammer. Yet in a fury, it fights on.

The bug has found anew foe in Khartelosch. His giant mandible stretches forth like lightning in an attempt to separate Khartelosch from his head.

Khartelosch is caught by the giant mandible.

He joins the unconscious Verrin and the hemorrhaging Ibrah with a deep wound of his own. The gushing blood is not enough to stop his rage.

Anxious about dwindling bullets and loud noise, Thaane decides to shoot anyway for the goodof the party.
