... which may have the unintended side-effect of screwing Zayid's chances to shift up even more (it's an ability check if I recall correctly : /)

Any thoughts on how to deal with this? Just boping Zayid on the head Noro style and then what?

Either we fight the boss one man short (worse odds and Zayid just gets to watch) or we slink back home empty handed. Hmm

Edit: That is assuming he just doesn't scurry away. That is going to be a hassle :P

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

I'm just looking on with steepled fingers as you guys figure this out. :)

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

And those options aren't the only ones, freia. You could always have the were-zayid help. I hear wererats are natural sneaks.

Female Tiefling Magus 4 Harbinger 1 | Hp 7/38 | AC 19, Touch 14, FF 16 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Resistance fire, cold, electricity 5 | Per +5, Darkvision, Deathwatch | Init +3 | Status: Aura of Misfortune, Fast Healing 1

Yeah, there are a wealth of options : )

We could, for example, toss Zayid in a bag and when we encounter the 'boss' throw said bag over him. Should distract him adequately from spellcasting : P

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

I'd prefer if this didn't go into actual combat round. If you guys can narrate/RP a way through this it'd be better, I think.

Noro is only ready in case he takes an offensive action against us, give him a chance to see if he retains his own mind. But Noro will not just sit there and pretend that there isn't any possibility of that.

basically strike only in retaliation.

Every decision your character makes is your decision first.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Huh. I've never seen a name put to that, but I've seen it. I've done it to one extent or another. Thanks.

F Elf Wizard 3/Psion 1 [ HP 3/21 | AC 14 Tch 12 FF 12 | Fort +2 Ref +4 Will +7 | CMD 13| Init +10(+6), Perception +10]

Don't lycanthropes change alignment when transformed?

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

No? I've never heard that anyway.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Used to be an old rule for any afflicted Lycans in the eras prior to PF.

Psst.. Zayid, check This link! :D

Female Tiefling Magus 4 Harbinger 1 | Hp 7/38 | AC 19, Touch 14, FF 16 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Resistance fire, cold, electricity 5 | Per +5, Darkvision, Deathwatch | Init +3 | Status: Aura of Misfortune, Fast Healing 1

Yeah, Lycan's used to switch to their forms alignment (usually some combo of C and/or E, with the Werebear being the big exception [LG]).

3.5 srd d20 wrote:

Lycanthropy As An Affliction

When a character contracts lycanthropy through a lycanthrope’s bite (see above), no symptoms appear until the first night of the next full moon. On that night, the afflicted character involuntarily assumes animal form and forgets his or her own identity, temporarily becoming an NPC. The character remains in animal form, assuming the appropriate alignment, until the next dawn.

The character’s actions during this first episode are dictated by the alignment of its animal form. The character remembers nothing about the entire episode (or subsequent episodes) unless he succeeds on a DC 15 Wisdom check, in which case he becomes aware of his lycanthropic condition.

Thereafter, the character is subject to involuntary transformation under the full moon and whenever damaged in combat. He or she feels an overwhelming rage building up and must succeed on a Control Shape check (see below) to resist changing into animal form. Any player character not yet aware of his or her lycanthropic condition temporarily becomes an NPC during an involuntary change, and acts according to the alignment of his or her animal form.

A character with awareness of his condition retains his identity and does not lose control of his actions if he changes. However, each time he changes to his animal form, he must make a Will save (DC 15 + number of times he has been in animal form) or permanently assume the alignment of his animal form in all shapes.

Once a character becomes aware of his affliction, he can now voluntarily attempt to change to animal or hybrid form, using the appropriate Control Shape check DC. An attempt is a standard action and can be made each round. Any voluntary change to animal or hybrid form immediately and permanently changes the character’s alignment to that of the appropriate lycanthrope.

Don't think it is still present in the PF rules as mentioned earlier : )

Which, incidentally, mean that one of the most effective redemption methods in 3.5 would be a pack of werebears infecting all evil doers. Unless they are cured, said evil doers would change over to LG sooner or later :P

That sounds like a fantastic idea for an adventure. :P

No kidding. Good enough for a one-shot, at least.

Yeah.

You are Linus the Lich. After some pesky adventurers killed you, you have finally rejuvenated and wandered back to civilization from that godforsaken place where you hid you phylactery.

You are out for revenge against those uncouth snots.

But once you make it back and start gathering your fleshy minions for the next showdown, you quickly realize something is wrong. Terribly terribly wrong!

Drurgmurg the Destroyer, your trusty ogre henchman, is now selling flowers down at main street. Melinda of Malice, your personal assassin, works at an orphanage. And your apprentice just picked up bee-keeping.

Everywhere you turn you are greeted by stupid smiles and petted puppies.

What sort of terrible curse has taken hold? Better find out quickly: word on the understreets is that more and more trustworthy thugs and shady organizations are succumbing to it, turning from bloodthirsty killers to pacified teddybears.

Soon, there won't even be enough minions to rob even a candystore anymore ...

*Insert a picture of a lich in trenchcoat and fedora, noir style, walking down the streets as the sun shines brightly and everyone around him dances happily and throws confetti around.*

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Or you could play the other side too. :) That sounds like a climax to me.

I'm heading out tomorrow on a camping trip, and will be back next Tuesday or Wednesday... or possibly Thursday, depending on how lonely the bears are. I won't be posting during that time.

Thanks for letting us know.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Map is done, I think. I has estimated Noro's position, but it should be editable, so move yourselves as you will and describe any preparations you take, including if you point out that ladder to Halsanna. :)

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Yeah... I'm definitely putting some points in climb at the soonest opportunity.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

I'm just giving you options. You don't have to climb. :)

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Psh. Like Halsanna wouldn't love a vantage point?

Though that does remind me. I'm going to have to look into a "fast exit" method for her as well. No point in being up high if you cannot get down practically.

I edited my post to state my pre-fog action.

The post-fog post I'll put in a spoiler here in case I need it unchanged

stashed post:
"Halsanna, can you see if he exits the mist on the other side?" Freia whispers along the message spell. "I'm going to try and head over to the other side of the spell!"

Double-move straight south and drawing her sword, enhancing it with a pool point.

By the looks of it, she'll reach the south edge of the mist. I didn't move her since she might bump into the target

(the dice roll can't be deleted/moved without f$*#ing up the dice roller, so that one stays.)

Also, with Freia's spell, the boss is now extra susceptible to (one) opposed roll or save ... Just sayin' :P

And given that operation 'suckify Choon's dice' was a success, going along that route anyway cant hurt ^^

Female Tiefling Magus 4 Harbinger 1 | Hp 7/38 | AC 19, Touch 14, FF 16 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Resistance fire, cold, electricity 5 | Per +5, Darkvision, Deathwatch | Init +3 | Status: Aura of Misfortune, Fast Healing 1

If we manage to keep all Choon's rolls sub 10, I think we actually have a great chance to pull this off :P
