That is the only one that I have played. I am looking for someone who can run the other 4 parts.

He just started the Stolen Heir. It is very tempting though.

I have a Rougarou and a bunch of replays to burn, just trying to get him into a game. I keep missing all of the recruitment posts.

A tall Osiriani man strides into the room, dressed in flowing robes with a longbow over one shoulder, and a satchel at his hip.

Greetings to all, I am Tothek. I am ready to serve once again.

He sits down, and with a wave of his fingers, brings a a tray of dates and a cup of tea floating over from the nearest table.

I’ve played at least two other sections. I’ll try to look them up tomorrow while not cooking.

Dark Archive

I’ve played (and could run) Thornkeep 1 and 2.

If you will run I will play.

I've never played a PF module. How long would a single part run for? (Alternatively, how many XP does a section contain, as a proxy for length?)

Each section of Thornkeep is worth 3 xp, which is pretty typical for a shorter module (e.g., Godsmouth Heresy, From Shore to Sea, etc.). Some modules (e.g. Dragon's Demand, Plunder & Peril, etc.) have sanctioned content that's worth multiple 3 xp chronicles. They also can be run in campaign mode, with each player receiving those chronicles once the sanctioned parts have been completed.

So, basically, it'd be committing to sometging like 6 months of gameplay?

It'll vary somewhat depending on the speed of the GM and the group, but yes, most modules will typically run much longer than a standard scenario. My experience playing modules via PbP is limited but one took about 4 months (Masks of the Living God) and another took about 10 months (the entirety of Daughters of Fury, but we did a lot of RP too).

Thanks. As long as I know what to expect, that sounds good.

It depends on the module level, IME. I've run Godsmouth Heresy twice (once standard, once core), and it took four months both times. I ran Thornkeep Level 1 in 3. OTOH, From Shore to Sea took seven months.

Nothing original or revolutionary, Watery Soup, but here are some tried-and-true gameplay expediters to consider:

PbP Tips

Party SOPs
For a dungeon crawl like Thornkeep, the table can really expedite play by developing some SOPs for room entry and clearance.

Skill Check Spoilers
The GM can help keep a good pace by making liberal use of spoilers for skill checks that PCs can open if their roll exceeds the DC.

Pre-formatted Saving Throws
If there are a lot of saving throws for traps and other effects, the table could consider having the GM use pre-formatted text for saves, so you're not waiting for a half dozen folks to post their individual rolls, eating up a typical day's worth of posts.

Dark Archive

And don't forget botting spoilers for combat! Everyone needs those!

Hey, Watery Soup. I've run the whole set of Thornkeep on tabletop. It was a bit of as push, but we finished each floor in a 4 hr block, about the time to run a long scenario.

I had my group bring in Level 2 characters. That lets the group run all 5 floors straight and end at level 7.

Grand Lodge

Speaking of modules, I have just listed a run of The Harrowing (for levels 8-10) here.
As mentioned it will probably take 5-6 months to complete.

Grand Lodge

And...recruitment is closed. :)

Will the six who signed up proceed back to the recruitment thread for further directions.

Damiar Apastron wrote:

No they don't. They just need to play.

The GM is there giving the group a whole world full of people after all. The least a player can do is do the thing they signed specifically up to do and play their own character.

Aside from serious real life interruptions of course, because life happens.

9 people marked this as a favorite.

That's why everyone needs botting spoilers, for when life happens.

What TOZ said. Botting spoilers are a helpful thing to make real life disruptions less of a burden on your GM/other players.

I am always making use of my own Botting spoilers. I include the dice expressions so that I can just cut & paste common actions.

Hmm. Thought I'd poke my head in, but all I see on offer are 1-5's and modules. I've got a long list of 5-9's and 7-11's (and one 3-7) I'd be willing to take another go at if someone GMs them.

Sorry, I'm not really familiar with the recruitment format here.

If you list a few specific scenarios you're interested in, you can sometimes get a GM who enjoys one of them and/or has them already prepped and ready to go to volunteer. That's how I end up GMing half or more of my games. ;-)

I'm at capacity right now, but you might be able to catch someone else.

Grand Lodge

Bahram, a first level archaeologist, is looking for his next mission.
Scenarios completed:
#5–01: The Glass River Rescue
#9-01: The Cost of Enlightenment
He carries a great axe, but prefers to solve things through sleuthing and diplomacy. It rarely works out that way, however. I'm rather new to pfs, so may need a pointer or two on the finer points of rules for before or after a game. Also, this is for PF1.

The Concordance

Eranahu is a first level Ilsurian Archer (ranger) who is looking for his next great adventure! He is currently trained as a ranger, but his on his way to priesthood through his devotion to Erastil. He is a fairly carefree fellow who gets along with nearly anyone. The only individual he has not been able to get along with and will not work with, is Bahram,
mostly due to the fact that they are run by the same player.
Scenarios completed:
Down the Verdant Path

I'm bumping this to reiterate. I could be that "someone else".

Thistledown, list the 3-7 and 5-9 scenarios you're most interested in (my most advanced character is 5th level and honestly unlikely to reach 7th so 7-11 scenarios are going to be low on my interest list).

We've played live together so you know what scenarios are common in the area. My first choice would be a scenario that I've already played. Second choice would be a scenario that I have no interest in playing.

I have many games wrapping up in January.

Shadow Lodge

If I run a 7-11 campaign, can I apply the GM credit to a 1st level character, or does it have to be 7-11?

Watery Soup wrote:

You can apply it to a first level character but you only get 500gp for it.

That's 10,000 arrows!

You can apply it to a first level character but you only get 500gp for it.

Alternatively, you can apply it to your 1st level character and not benefit from it / hold it in reserve until Level 7. Then your character will get full gold + boons (instead of 500gp & no boons).

Hello all! We are looking for one to two more people to step in for a group trying to complete a run through the Season 0 scenarios, currently around tiers 6-7 at the moment. The group also is planning on mixing in content from Dragon's Demand as well. The group is currently a cavalier, alchemist, and a life oracle; looking for another melee character and potentially an arcane caster/expert.

If interested, please check out our Discussion Thread or send me a message for more information!

Now recruiting for PFS1 # 0-13, The Prince of Augustana at Subtier 1-2 here.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Prince is one of my favorite low-level games. I'd love to play in Core, but I assume it's Standard so I wish everyone a good time.

Open recruiting for 3 spots in PFS1 #4-09, The Blakros Matrimony (subtier 6-7).

Looking to see if there is interest in playing Unleashing the Untouchable. It is the Season 8 seeker adventure. Tier 12-15.

@GMAndewW, I would be in at a later time. Right now, both of my Seekers are in games. The Archivist in Ruby Phoenix Tournament is near the end I think (in the semi-finals). Maybe another month? My cavalier is near the end of Passing the Torch 1, but will do Part 2 after that.

@GMAndrewW - I would burn a replay (for unleashing the untouchables). I have a 15th level Wizard that can play.

I could run Rasping Rebirth if there is interest. I ave run it several times before.

I could play either with my Wizard. I guess it depends on what people would like to do.

Tomb of the Iron Medusa is one that I was looking to play if you are taking requests. Or most anything in the 15-17 level range. I would love to play my 16th level Zen Archer/Inquisitor again.
