Retraining out of Tattooed Sorceress is the most simple way. It would cost 10pp and 200 gold. Or you could retrain your bloodline to one that doesn't get a familiar which would only cost 5pp and 100 gold but I imagine you wouldn't want to do that.

Thanks again Red I think I will just keep it the way it is. The cost is to much plus I still get the Serpent Friend - speak with animals at will ability just not the familiar.

Planned on it.

The Viper would just be a familar with levels equal to your combined character level in this case.
-2 vs equal to your tattooed sorceror level is still a level 3 familar.

You just don't get much use out of your additional class feature.

anyone still running season 0 scenarios?

Got a question.

I am about to level to 3rd with this character and I get

Serpentfriend (Ex): At 3rd level, you can use speak with animals at will with reptilian animals (including various forms of dinosaurs, lizards, and other cold-blooded creatures), and you gain a viper familiar using your sorcerer level –2 as your effective wizard level.

She is also a Tattooed Sorceress which gives her

Familiar Tattoo (Su): A tattooed sorcerer gains a familiar as an arcane bond, as a wizard equal to her sorcerer level. Her sorcerer levels stack with any wizard or witch levels she possesses when determining the powers of her familiar—this ability does not allow her to have both a familiar and a bonded item.

Unlike most familiars, her familiar can transform itself into a tattoo that she carries in her flesh. Transforming into a tattoo or back to normal familiar form is a move action for her familiar. In tattoo form, the familiar looks like a stylized version of itself, but does not count as a creature separate from the tattooed sorcerer. In tattoo form it continues to grant its special familiar ability, but otherwise has no abilities and can take no actions except to transform from tattoo into creature. A familiar tattoo cannot be erased or dispelled.

This ability replaces her 1st-level bloodline power.

How do these two abilities work together in PFS?

Thanks for any help.

I'm not seeing the conflict here.

Seems to me you would have a viper familiar as wizard equal to your level that can turn into a tattoo.

Is there something I'm missing?

Male Arrancar

i think they just didn't want redundant class features. or they just weren't sure how they interacted due to the redundancy.

I, too, am working my way through Seasons 0 and 1. I'm also trying to clear through both standard and core.

For now I'm at my bandwidth limit for games, but that will change after Gen Con. I'll be posting here.

I apologize Trotter. I haven't been around the Flaxseed much lately, and forgot about the new protocols. It won't happen again.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

It's really not a bit deal, there was just a lot of OOC-chatter going on in the gameplay and some people find that distracting. I try not to be too draconian in enforcing things like that though.

That's good, because I don't speak draconic.

The prestige point restrictions on retraining means of you realize at level 3 that you don't like your class you're pretty much screwed; time to abandon the character. :-(

Just a general follow on from Year of the Shadow Lodge.

I have submitted the requests for both the GM Boons, and the Table boons that were won by participants. I expect that these may take a while to come through, pretty much in line with the experience from the Game Days.

When I see something come through I will communicate that back to the crowd.

See you all for the next one post GD V.

When do you expect GD V?

VC - Sydney, Australia

They were waiting until we cleared through the multi YotSL before they announced, and now I'm waiting for them to announce GD V so I can plan the dates for Blood under Absalom :)

I'm not connected to the GD organising, so I have guesswork and conjecture - but the upcoming Conventions will no doubt keep us all on ice for a while.

Great times to be a PbP player - an ongoing festival of events...!

Meanwhile, I'm planning a local con with my spare time. Do many of you guys VTT?

Male Arrancar

i tried once in a Way of the Wicked that fell apart. :( why do you ask?

"Do many of you guys VTT?"

What is VTT?

Female Human Pathfinder Society GM Thistletop Combat Map

Virtual Table Top. It refers to gaming online but all gathered at the same time and communicating over skype or roll20 or some similar thing.

And it's not something I have tried, but would be willing if the times were possible for me.

Reason I ask is a bit of a funky one.

I just held an event over the weekend (Another Multi-table special) where we had a major concentration of players at my home location, and another location about 600 miles away also participating, and connected up via multiple comms mediums. Went swimmingly and a great time had by all.

We will be doing it again, though it might have even more satellite groups (or not, as my Mercurial nature dictates) and I am going to expand from an 'event' footprint into a 'con' footprint. Basically now I know the system works, we I will go again - a 'Decentralised Convention' (Australia is a big place) and I figure it would be interesting to hold in real and virtual environments all under one umbrella. VTT works, but PbP does not.

We seem to be EITHER virtual con, OR physical con, and I'm thinking 'whats the difference?'.

Just the crazy musings of a wild eyed loner coming down from the mountain.

It will be in October regardless.

(Side note, how does a PbP convention work? I assume the Game Day is the only legit vehicle for this? nfi. Something to ponder on my next afternoon jog)

- INACTIVE (finished campaign) -

I do it with some friends and family. Scheduling can be difficult. It is nice to keep a group together through moves and the like though.

I would be interested in a VTT special

You might be interested though. I even have a fires started stat.

I could do VTT if we are using Roll20.

From the reporting side of YotSL:

All tables have been reported. Shoot me a PM if I made an error somewhere.

Cheers Magabeus,

Looks like all the things we need to do are done mate.

/high five.

Have a look at the feedback that came in too if you haven't already, pretty good. And a bunch of things to take forward to next time.

Shifty - first off, a huge thanks to you and the other organizers for the special, it was a lot of fun and I met some great new players!

Second - you mentioned the feedback that's come in - can you tell me where I can provide such feedback? I know there was a thread for the special, not sure where that ended up.

For all interested in the Deepmarket Deception:
I am currently wrapped up in some pretty hectic RL stuff.. mostly an accelerated RN program. This week and next are absolutely brutal for me, and I really don't want to start off with slow, haphazard posting from the GM. I am also running another game that is likely to wrap up within that timeframe, further extending my ability to focus correctly on your game.

That said, the response has been incredible and much more than I expected! I will figure out what I am going to do with all of you, and then get the game rolling as soon as I am able to commit to the time yall deserve. Please be patient with me, and I will see to everything shortly.

You're welcome, it was an interesting experience to be sure, and now I suppose 'we know how the monster works'. Blood under Absalom will be the next one I run.

With regards feedback - on the player info collection link I sent out to the GM's they were able to pass that on to their players or collect data and just bulk input. If your GM collected your data then the GM provided the feedback, although if the players did the work they had access to the commentary box.

If you have something you want to raise, or other feedback to chuck in, feel free to PM me :)

I'd like to join in. As for PBP conventions, I think we could totally run another one. We need 15 plus tables and maybe a theme to link us.

Hmm

Knowledge Checks -Sky Key Solution Aid Token

I would not mind running a PBP for the online convention.

VC - Sydney, Australia

I would be interested to know what does and doesn't qualify - and how it is (from a Paizo perspective) required to work.

A local convention is easy, but I suppose an Online/PbP one does need a theme, otherwise its just 'business as usual'. I suppose that is where things are interesting on these boards, as they are in effect one long event. I looked at my PbP entries under my 'Shifty Business' event ID and theres basically 100+ tables of play spanning about two years. That would have been one heck of a convention :p

Perfect news for me; hopefully Serpent's Rise will be done by then and I can join in.

Not that this will help in the near-term, but if there are still people looking for deepmarket deception when I'm ready to start another scenario (which may be a few weeks) I'll certainly run it.

Now that will be interesting.

Any plans to expand it out in number of tables or approximately keep it the same? (I'm 5 stars, so this isn't for me unless you end up short of GMs somehow. :p)

VC - Sydney, Australia

I'm still aiming for about the same footprint of 15 :)

I'd love to get GM credit for Blood Under Absalom, but like Andrew I'm already at 5 stars so I don't need the specials, just the credit.
