I usually use a bow and a sword, while Nelphys uses small blades and short bows. When we woke up, those appeared to have been confiscated, we don't know where.

Are you recruiting future staff here?

Personally i'd find it appropriately funny, if Elsa would take leadership at lvl 7, but that's up to you.

At lvl 7, that nets one of max 5th lvl.

Or, you could have the lumberjack do some retraining, he'd been assigned as you guys' villa's Carpenter/repair man, and is currently a lvl 3 warrior.

The two mongrelkin look surprised at Elsa's sudden ordering.
There is some soft hushed talk in undercommon.

Tarrus: "I have no problem with inspecting doors, but Nelphys would be better suited making them secure."

Nelphys looks a bit confused.
"What is a steward? Is that a spokes person?"

Tarrus explains it's sort of such, and that when they meet up with the others, a steward is to introduce a person of position upon a meeting.

Orland for the life of him simply tried not to make eye contact with the Mongrelmen at all if possible. He knew he was a half-orc but even for him the mixture of the different parts was something... unnerving to him. And he faced Eldritch Blood Creatures!

Orland said in a questioning manner as if he just forgot the man's name. Of course looking at the ceiling or off in a direction rather than right at the mongrelman.

Finally leveled up... sorry for my part of the delay.

"Well let's keep on going then; I'd hate to miss them after hope seems to finally be on the horizon!"

So I got a new buff, Powerstrike. I can spend 2 rounds to give a single weapon the keen property for 6 minutes, or 3 rounds on the weapon to make it last an hour. So depending on the plan, I can improve Sivar and Grint's weapons.

Oh yeah... don't suppose we found any arrows among the loots for poor Grint? :P

With the team leveled, and the two mongrelkin geard up as best they can, they head down the tunnel.

Tarrus: "Given you surfacers, aside from two of you, seem to need light, it might be easier for the grey skinned ones to notice you.
They only use lights where needed, and they didn't light any torches when entering."

The two mongrelkin can be used for distractional purposes, granting a +4 to stealth checks, if asked of.
Or scouting and hitting opponents ahead before falling back and having you deal some justice.
Tarrus is trained in the heal skill.
Whatever option, you can send one or both, doubling the bonus.
It will get the one(s) to be absent until you reach the quarry, though.

Between the two of you, you mention the partial words, and Father Burdock can translate what he can.

It takes just a little effort with the partial words, but it's become obvious the voices were discussing recent prisoners...or slaves, as the grey skinned dwarves prefer to call them.

You see Nelphys toss something behind you, a small baby beetle...where'd she get that?

The duergar enter from the other one, and you can hear some disgruntled talking behind you.

"A mere beetle? Bah..and i thought there was something proper to fight."

"We head back, come on."

The quick sound of something hitting chitin and a squishy sound are all that is coming from behind you.

I'll get to the proper part when i get to my maps folder again.

Sivar is trying to be stoic and silent.. not knowing if he should speak or not as he doesn't want to create an echo and give them away.

He follows along someone who seems to have an idea about what they are doing down here though.

The team continues their trek through the tunnels.

The sound of grim voices increases in occurrence, a sign you're getting pretty close to densely populated caverns.

Your tunnel exits at a natural platform of sorts, overlooking a broad operation down below. A camp lies below.

Lights from braziers are scattered, and the number of duergar are larger than a mere patrol.
Down here are a little over a dozen, but some of them move around from time to time. You notice some beetles among them.

There seem to be two passages down there, each of which has a mine cart exiting from a track sometimes, filled with ore and rough gems.
A group of bound humanoids are led into one of the passages.

The platform you are on has two slopes down, left and right.
The left one has some more duergar, but more cover for stealth bonuses.
The right one has less duergar, and a little less objects to sneak behind, but includes a few beetles.

You can use the services of your aides, should you wish.
Getting past these guys, you can take a passage to either the quarry, or another mine.
