Thank you, I never used this system, or heard of it until now, lol. But sure why not, though keep in mind if you do use it the enemies will have it too. :) would be only fair.

By all means. didn't expect only PCs to have it

Works for me, your hired as crew, background but can talk during "roleplaying" scenes, not active during fight scenes.

I like this idea.

This does sound interesting.

What about feats at 1st/NPC level?
The NPC level is effectively level 1, so you would start with a feat, if you don't qualify for a feat you want as an NPC, then leave that slot empty until you get your heroic class assigned. Though we are full up for this ride, You could sign on as a cargo sweep or deck hand for now, we could always put some people to work until a guest room opens up on board.

I thought I was pushing my luck for getting aboard.

Being signed up on stand-by as a deck-hand is fine, though.

Sooooo, my own concept would be:
Race: Human
Name: Mishtes (or something similar)
NPC Class: Aristocrat
Future Class: Magus
. . (Eldritch Scion archetype. GM can feel free to choose the bloodline. But DEX favoured over STR)

Reason for being aboard (as a deckhand): An illegitimate son of a noble, who has a bad temper.
Exasperated by his father's legitimate heirs being incompetent nitwits who will inherit everything while he gets nought.
After one dust up too many with one of his half-brothers, he left home with little more than the clothes on his back.

optional bits:
Feats and traits that I'd probably pick for the NPC and PC classes anyway:
Traits: Bastard (social), and Dirty Fighter (combat)
Feats: Toughness and Weapon Finesse

Sounds good all. I'll get the gameplay thread up today, and start popping in events on the ship after it leaves port. :)

(sick kid may delay this a little, if I don't have it up tonight this is why, but it's coming.)

gameplay and discussion boards are now live. Active PCs, and inactive PCs (i.e. Crew may post until[if] combat starts.)

Please buy and equip, any gear you intend on having at the start.

If it helps this is normally a 'pleasure ship', meaning it is bigger than a typical sailing ship, and outfitted with finer rooms and a higher scale of accommodations.

I'll work on an actual floor plan later but it has 3 levels. Deck, below deck 1, with rooms and beds, and a lower deck with supplies, and crew quarters etc.

With this being a pleasure ship, I would think my character may be on board as more of an attraction than simply a good source. While he was kind of gang pressed, they now use his presence as an exotic delicacy. Considering the amount of good berries he can produce per day, they may even charge a fine deal for the opportunity to eat one.

How does that sound to you, Koralie?

I'm ok with almost any reason to be on ship. :) so sure.

If I remember correctly, to lazy to look :P, but when we take a PC class, we will have a lot of healing potential.

My apologies on the delay. The weekend was rather long for me, I was out volunteering at a mini-convention. I'll get a post up today.

It's a relaxed posting schedule, it's vacation time for most people. I plan on 1-2 bigger posts a week, usually DURING the week. Weekends are kinda busy for me, but I'll shoot posts and stuff in there when I can.

I'm getting information up in the profile now. I had chosen to take the storm-lashed feat awhile back as I thought it fit his living outdoors. Why would a plant choose not to ride out a storm? If you have any issues with this, please let me know.

Sovereign Court

if there is an empty slot I have an idea for a character I would like to run

@ "The Lucky Halfling", you might want to make your post regarding posting and stuff in the Discussion Thread instead of Recruitment Thread. Just some advice.
