Since it will be a megadungeon that no one ever came back alive, how will the chosen ones survive (food and drink)? Do we need to figure it out (like everyone have a ring of nourishment)?
Well I can literally eat corpses to survive, diseased or not so Im not too worried, but it might be a relevant question for the rest of you longlegs :)
That and healing might be an issue.| Vinsomner |
So happy your discussion these things :)
Yes, food is going to be an issue, every time the group rests you must be able to consume something for nourishment. So food shortage and starvation will be prevalent to the campaign.
And you can craft junk in your specialization. You can give said junk to other players, but if your a gunsmith, then you can only craft guns and ammo.
DekoTheBarbarian
Actually, my character is going to be a cook (literally, he's gonna have ranks in Profession [Chef]), and will be taking a lot of food stuffs with him.
Speaking of, here's his background. Sorry it's later than I said, and wanted, but stuff happens.
But, he had a secret he kept from his parents for years. Though he enjoyed cooking, even loved it at times, he always felt that there was supposed to be something more to his life. That he was supposed to do something more than cook for others. He never knew what that something was until the city guard called for people to help repel raiders from Huth'han. Wanting to help protect his home, he signed up for training.
Joshua proved to be a quick learner with firearms, particularly one-handed guns. He took to his training like he did with cooking, and was soon put on a squad. His fellow recruits quickly grew to respect him both on the fields of battle and off. His quick wits and calm demeanor helped settle more than one dispute, and his culinary skills kept his squad in high morale.
During his time outside the city, he found himself growing to love the life, the excitement of adventure bringing feelings he just couldn't find working in a kitchen. When his tour was over, he went back home to parents that didn't understand his new look on life. After many arguments and tears, Joshua finally left and applied to work directly for the guard. Taken in, he got the training he never could as part of the militia and rose quickly in rank, attaining the position of Guard-Captain at the age of 27, the youngest ever.
He stayed in that position for several years, turning down promotions so he could stay with his men that he had grown to care for and respect. Now, though, now he found a challenge that he couldn't refuse. With the way things had been going lately, if they didn't find the cause of this plague, he wouldn't have a home left to defend. So when the summons before the council came, he was quick to respond and accept.
Sorry this took so long, and I hope it's acceptable. If there's anything you're concerned about, let me know.

Looks like we have a huge kingdom problem so far! I could probably change my kingdom (Ferralathia) to Irullia with no problem, or even to Guzzathan... Although I doubt that the dwarves would let a gnome to represent them!
And we will definitely need a healer or a ton of potions and wands...

Ok then step right up and let me craft you all some items. I can do Armor, Wands, Weapons and Wondrous Items.
Let me take a look at the kingdoms again and see if I can find another one.
EDIT: I believe coming from Lur'dalen makes sense after all the search for more knowledge is right in my wheelhouse.
Vinsomner
@Adornis Vrastoyllar: IF there are no dwarven character applications (I believe one player is still applying with one (I believe an oracle) if they are still interested. Then a gnome would fit well with Guzzathan.
Also thank you for getting that list together :)
@Eysterlun: Lur'dalen would work well for you.
@Roman Ke: Get your healing pots right here! Healing pots! Only 1 gold a bottle, will be sure to heal you right up! Put the strength back in your body with this miraculous potion!

Didn't see an announcement of the player list and I've been looking for a new campaign, so going to roll my stats. If it is too late let me know (or if I see a selection go up, obviously).
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (3, 6, 1, 6) - 1 = 15
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 2) - 2 = 12
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 2) - 2 = 16
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 6) - 2 = 10
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 3) - 1 = 9
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 4) - 2 = 10
Will be working on fluff and build. Assuming I can get it up tomorrow, is that in time for consideration?
Ciaran Bran
hi! this is Firefoot17, here is the character I created for this campaign. as you can probably tell, his name I Ciaran Bran
Ciaran grew up in a happy family, and was the oldest 3 kids and was born with the blood of dragons coursing through his veins. However, after a bandit raid from pirates under the command of a pyromancer named Fastues, left him without family when he was 14. Without any reason to stay on the island he left to join the navy of Irullia in hopes of catching the criminals that killed his family.
no one knows much about Ciaran or where he really comes from, in fact no one even heard about the now famed warrior till after his first battle among the Irullia navy when he was only 16. The battle took place against a group of pirates, led by a powerful pyromancer named Fastues, to raid the irullian ships during a war game set to take place between 5 ships, just off of the coast. When the battle first started the ship that Ciaran on, the gray wol f, was hit by a large fireball on the deck which sent the ship up in flames and caused many of the crew members to jump ship. The battle continued with the pirates pressing the unprepared navy hard, one already sinking due to cannon fire, and the other was up in flames. This left only 3 able-body ships against the pirates 4; however, since this was a war game, the navy’s ships only had their reserve supply of black powder and cannon balls, while the pirates were sure to have their ships full of gun and powder. The battle was hard and vicious, but because of the fighting, no one noticed that the grey wolf was slowly turning and moving towards the pirate’s flag ship the Red Drake, and towards Fastues. The demonic looking ship was seen to be piloted by a lone irullian soldier with a large two-handed strapped to his back. Unfortunately for the pirates, they didn’t spot the evil looking ship until it was too late to try and outmaneuver it. The air was split with the deafening noise of timbers splintering as the grey wolf’s flaming prow drove itself into the Red Drakes hull. A single figure jumped through the inferno that was now the [i]grey wolf onto the deck of Red Drake and stopped once it reached the middle of the deck and started to have a coughing fit.
Fastues stared at the figure of the man who just rammed a flaming ship into his. Judging by the insignia on the figures armor he was a soldier of Irullia but as took in more of the boys features he was probably no older than 16. The child was tall for someone of his age probably stood around 6’ tall, he had long brown hair, and carried a large two-handed sword on his back. His clothing was a standard irullian uniform with a tunic that covered the scale mail that the lad wore. He might be considered handsome, but right now he was covered with black ash. After a while the boy stopped coughing and stood up and said “you Fastues the pyropirate?” , “I’m much more than that lad, im every seafarer’s worse nightmare” replied Fastues. The boy gave out another cough and said [b] “word of advice, next time you throw a fireball at a ship, make sure you’re burning the sails as well” . As if to prove the boys point, one of the burning mast’s of gray wolf’s let out a loud groan and fell down and lodged itself against the mast of Red Drake. When Fastues looked backed at the strange boy he saw that the young man had an evil grin. “its time for you to die Fastues ” the boy said “my name is Ciaran Bran, and I am the man who’s going to kill you” with that Ciaran drew his large Great sword and plowed head first into the group of pirates that stood between him and his target.
The battle between the pirates and the navy continued, as the battle progressed only 2 figures were spotted on the Red Drake, as flames from gray wolf started to lick the side of the boats, one carrying a Great sword and the other lobbing balls of fire in a battle to the death. Eventually, both boats began to sink, taking the 2 men down into the water. With the pirate’s leader gone, they made a panicked retreat. After the battle a search party commenced to look for the body of the young man who gave his life to help win the battle. But after several long hours without a sign, it was assumed that the body was trapped within the sunken ship and that Ciaran Bran was dead.
When the ships returned back to port they had a funeral procession for Ciaran. Two weeks later Ciaran walked through the gates of a nearby outpost and asked for transportation back to his station. It was then found out that Ciaran and Fastues fought until the fire and smoke made it impossible to see and breathe, and then jumped into the sea and swam for the shore. But since the shore was too far he ended up passing out and, by luck, washing up on the shore he was swimming for. After waking up on the beach he used his used the stars to direct his way and the training he received at home to survive off the land as he made his way to a military outpost, it’s still unknown whether Fastues also survived the battle. Shortly after he returned to his post he was declared a war hero and was promoted, ever since then he’s rise his way to become one of the nation’s most famous warriors and survivalists. Today he is 21 and one of the kingdoms elite fighters, and bears the nick-names Dragon Hunter and Gray wolf from his first exploit against the Burning pirate Fastues. Because he is known to be adaptable, a survivor, and a berserk of great strength he has been chosen to help explore the citadel

Personality: Ciaran has a very happy- go lucky personality and tends to joke a lot, however he’s also a little shy. He doesn’t boast about his powers or his strength .He smiles a lot, but because he witnessed the death of his family his smile never really seems to reach his eyes. Despite being a berserker he’s quite gentle and try’s to be careful, knowing that with his strength he has to be. When he’s at a group gathering and starts talking with people he looks happy and makes jokes, but whenever he’s alone a more dark a brooding side comes out, one that’s filled with regret. He’s doesn’t rise to aggression and allows people mistreat him to a certain extent, but whenever a woman or a child is mistreated he instantly enter a stage of blood lust, with the intent of beating the assaulter within an inch of their life, normally it takes someone he knows and trusts to calm him down and stop him. Also when Ciaran enter his bloodlust, he isn’t like most barbarians where he’s screaming; instead he is almost completely silent and doesn’t say anything. When he does talk in rage, it’s normally is harsh whispers.

@Augar Stonefist: yes you still have time. Monday the 28th is the cut off time.
@Tharasiph: A Hobgoblin you say? Interesting, lets shoot for it. Yes you have my ok :)
@mdt: That sounds good :) I hate it when you get useless double ups on feats when multi-classing.
@Eysterlun Macros: Great! It's looking good, and thank you for switching to Lur'dalen, I think it just fits better :)

OK, so just to make sure I've spotted everything...
Starting wealth is usual class wealth rolled, then x8.
We're starting at level 6.
Are we allowed to use the Variant Multiclass System? I have the idea for a particularly fiery and glory seeking Dwarf Barbarian who has some of the Order of the Flame traits. He'd be taking the Elemental (Fire) Totem, because the idea of someone who gets so angry they start smoking appeals to me.

Decided to ditch the Undine idea. Initial character concept and build below, including "big ticket" inventory items (armor, weapons, etc). Alias will be created and inventory finalized if the character is selected. Backstory will also be expanded, as it's still too barebones for my tastes.
Raised by his human mother in the nation of Irullia, Corin never knew his father, knowing only that he had been an elven adventurer his mother had traveled with for some time. Despite being raised in the largely nautical soceity off Irullia, Corin never took to sea. Instead, he became a hunter, and when he was young his catches provided a much-welcome break from the constant diet of fish in his village.
In the spring of Corin's twentieth year, disaster struck. Animals, driven by some sinister will, began to ravage the area; attacking people and other wildlife in a mindless destructive rampage. Corin was one of the many people who tried to get to the bottom of it. He braved the suddenly-perilous wilds and discovered a hidden cave system wherein sheltered a mad druid. Despite a brutal fight which left Corin near death, he triumphed. The scars of the shifted bear-druids claws still show on his face.
In the years afterwards, Corin continued to explore and map the cave system, which turned out to be quite extensive. Eventually he become locally famous for his expertise on the many wonders and dangers to be found hidden away beneath the earth, and as his reputation spread others sought him out to make use of this knowledge. He visited caves, caverns, dungeons and tunnels in many nations. Sometimes exploring, sometimes hunting, sometimes guiding and sometimes guarding, the deep places of the world became his domain. His skin grew pale as years and years went by with him as often below the ground as above it.
Then came the ravages of the plague, and suddenly Corin was called upon for a much more important task than had ever been asked of him: to accompany a group into the largely-unexplored dungeon beneath the Citadel and stop whatever was causing the sickness.

Jon's character. I'm still taking the fluff beyond the 'angry fire dwarf berserker with tons of armour, bad Scottish accent and a twisted sense of humour' along with the rest of my notes, but the crunch should be done.
My only regret is I couldn't wrangle in a permanent point of Fire Resistance somewhere, and take some Fire Ink tattoos. This one is arrogant enough to have 'Ah have killed nine twenty three forty eight orcs and Ah Am AWESOME!' written in fiery Dwarf runes down his back.
Oliver Ebonlocke
Oliver Ebonlocke was born as a recognized, but illegitimate son to the Ebonlocke's of Redale. His father, Altris, the younger son of Baron Ebonlocke, was somewhat embarrassed by the half-blood, especially when his father, Baron Ebonlocke, recognized him on Altris' behalf.
Oliver grew up in a strange half-world, neither fish nor fowl. He was minor nobility, but barred from inheriting any titles or lands. He was well educated, had access to the best doctors, and equipped by the family as befitted one of their station, despite not being of their station. The Baron considered it a good investment, as it had two benefits. One, Oliver was a steady ally, and two, he was a constant reminder to the rest of the minor nobles children to behave themselves and have a thought for the consequences of their actions.
As he grew up and matured, Oliver became an excellent marksman, a shining example of a modern warrior. His skill with a rifle became one of the prides of his family.
He also found himself called to the service of the Church, which also reflected well on the Ebonlockes, given that he found himself called to the Order of the Dawn Gun, a well known and fierce order of Paladins at the call of Saranrae. The Dawnflower's worship was especially wide spread in Redale, and the goddess popular, given her message of peace and tolerance.
When the call went out for Redale to send a representative for a new attempt at the great mystery, Baron Ebonlocke lobbied for Oliver to be the Redale representative. The church also liked this, for it allowed the a representative of both the Redale nobility and the church. The other noble families found this a good compromise, for Oliver, should he return, was barred from inheriting his families titles or lands, which was a bone of some contention over who should go.
Background, somewhat vagueish, since I have little knowledge of the world. Can tweak it if the GM prefers, or change or expand it.
