Desperation starts to sink into Damien as he sees Jerrid nearly dropped by the ettercap's assault. Not again! I'll be damned if I'm going to lose anymore!

"Good, hem him in! Kev, get your ass in here, we need the help! Leo, Astor could use another of those!"

Dropping his hands low in the handle, Damien brings heavy, crushing attacks down on the savage creature, punctuating each with a grunt, "Will. You. Just. Damnwell. Die!"

Don't think so, DMG would have mentioned it and there's a damage counter on the left. He's soaked up just under a hundred at this point. Hopefully pushing it to 115 will be enough.

As Kevezyat hews into her adversary with righteous might, she realizes that it's life was gone before it could taste her sword... Damien's hammer had already delivered the finishing blow.

As the ettercap falls, its sack of webbing slung around it's waste bursts open, spilling out an assortment of odd gems (and a couple rings).

Astor takes the full brunt of the monster fury. Before he knows it he slips into a dark chasm of consciousness, dreaming of when he was younger. That first memory of seeing true warriors in their glory. Watching the blurry images of the battles Astor has participated in, as if he was seeing them for the first time. Slipping in and out, he sees his friend Jerrid furiously working on something, but is this a dream too? It's becoming hard to distinguish between what's real and what's... beyond.

Not sure what I can roll at this point or am I at the mercy of the team?


Astor is stable and unconscious I believe. How many HP are you at Astor? I remember you said you don't like to record your HP total in the mini-stat line, but I forget where you said you do record them.

Once everthing is calmed down and the fight is over, janna looks over her companions, pulling out a small package, wrapped in leather. untying the string there is a greenish looking powder inside.

she spits onto it getting it moist and mixing it into a paste.

going to Damien, she tries to get him to sit down and she begins to rub the paste over the spider bite. This will burn a little, but it will help

Shrugging off her ministrations, he offers Janna a nod of thanks before moving to join Jerrid at Astor's side, "You'll have to ask Leo about the poison but I can probably get his eyes open. Hold on..."

Rubbing his hands together he mutters a few strange words and slides a hand over the worst of Astor's wounds, "On your feet soldier, this is no time to desert."

I've actually been trying to keep track of it in my mini stat because you said you preferred it. I should be up to 1 from the CLW from Damien. I've lost track of the DEX though.

Astor coughs and hacks as the healing from Damien's hands courses through his veins. "Watch... out.. for the .. traps." He lays his head back down, alive but feeling a weight holding his body down, some poison must still flow in his veins.

Damien shrugs, "I think Leo's got another bundle. Our boy seems stable for the time being..."

Getting up, Damien goes to check on the corpse of Mr.B, creating a small sphere of light near the ground (Cast Dancing Light) to help him search for the items that fell out of his webbing satchel, "Someone want to give me an extra pair of eyes? I'm working on a hunch."

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13


Spilled out on the earth next to Mr. B, in the tatters of his burst web satchel, are an assortment of gems and a pair of rings.

In addition to 4 mundane looking cut bloodstones and a pair of sapphires, there is a dusty rose colored uncut stone, a prismatic stone that refracts the light from Damiens spell, and a pair of frail looking crystal shells. Of the last two, one is broken. It is light brown and filled with earthy residue. Still intact is a translucent gem of the same size and shape and brittle crystalline texture.

The two rings are simple bands, one iron, the other seemingly an intensely hardened leather thong.

Sam eventually slips out of his noose and gets to the ground. He tears up and hugs Lannet. Overcome by emotion, he silently takes off the elven cloak and helps Lannet put it back on. He carefully adjusts it to make sure it fits correctly and adjusts it to make sure it is back in place to work as effectively as it can. He squints his eyes and looks at the cloak from many angles before nodding with a look of approval.

"Thanks for coming for me first." is all that he says. He figures Lannet isn't much for big speeches. "It wasn't right to grab the cloak like the others grabbed the soaps."

To avoid the burden of an emotional scene--Sam points to the pile of treasure. "Look treasure Lannet. Maybe we can have some??"
He leads Lannet to the treasure trove.

After seeing to Damien's wounds. she looks to Jerrid, I'm afraid that was my only one, I'm sorry

Janna then goes to Damien as he searches, Janna picks out the contents easily with her darkvision.

helping him gather the things. she notices the prisim. as well as some other interesting objects.

The dusty rose quartz strong varied, the prism illusion, the two crystals (one broken) conjuration, and the two rings faint abjuration, faint transmutation all have magic auras.

Janna separates out the magical items from the non-magical. and examines them.

Jerrid offers up the poultice he kept to the group. "Who needs this most? It can reinvigorate someone."

Then he helps Damien to fish through the pile of gems and rings. Little remembered conversations about this sort of thing do not help much, but Jerrid tries hard to remember anything. He casts a minor cantrip to help with any clues about their magical properties.

Leo is right, we need to regroup and decide from the safety of a way-station.


Ok, it's a dusty rose prism ioun stone, elemental gem (air), ring of protection, ring of climbing, and the merchant's prism shoots color spray.

I'm still at 1hp, 4 dex damage. Also, not gonna lie, I'm not sure how to cure/recover from the dex damage. I've tried looking it up and I must be searching the wrong way...

Astor still feels weak though it appears the poison has done all the damage it's going to do. "I don't know about how far I can travel just yet. That thing got me good! I hope that it left us a little something to remember it by."

He gestures to the prism, "I thought this one might have picked it up, seemed the ugly prick had the run of this place. So that's one problem solved I guess."

"Whatever he was doing here, it sounds like it was some sort of plan to at least thin the stirge population. There are certainly enough of them here. The problem is we don't know how long whatever he used to draw them in will last. If we can suss it out quick enough we might be able to make our lives a hell of a lot easier on the way out."

Leaving the items alone, Damien heads back to look over the body of Mr.Bojangles more closely for anything else the creature may have had on him.
