Silver Crusade

Awesome I'll post it as soon as I find it tonight

Zayne's submission. Is it okay to have an undead of my choice already bound to me? At level 1 I can technically have an undead of 1 CR under my control. Wanted to ask first before adding a companion.

Silver Crusade

I've always viewed CC as very Salem witch trail like myself.

I am currently working on my character. I'll be going with an investigator.

Ha, yeah. If they're going to be hostile to a lady who acts a little funny, imagine what the locals would do to the guy who has a bloody skeleton following him around.

Silver Crusade

I'd love the RP potential of you trying to convince derick to not blow holes into your undead... Lol. Being a undead hunter and all. Could be fun.

I have that covered. Its the reason I took the trait to give my bluff and disguise a bonus. I actually plan to disguise and outfit him so he looks like a bodyguard.

Silver Crusade

Good luck. Its a cool idea. I did the sane but had him as my butler/guard.

Hang on. Wizards don't get anything that channels negative energy. This might not work. I might have to go cleric in which case a lot is changing.

Silver Crusade

Ah! Found it!

Draken the kinslayer:

Draken was born in a smallish town in a rural area. When he was born he looked human enough to pass and was accepted for over two years. Unfortunately, one day he was discovered drinking the blood of a slaughtered hog, and upon inspection of the local clergy, branded a Dhamphir. His mother was driven out of the town after refusing to abandon the “monster” child to death. In the wilds, not terribly far from town, his mother raised Draken as best she could. She managed to build a small, very small, cabin after months of work, learned to hunt, and managed to start a small farm behind her house. Draken grew up never knowing what he was, he never had other children to play with only his mother and he loved her dearly. Eventually he grew old enough to help around the house, and they lived poorly, but happily, for several years. Sadly, on his 14th birthday, he ventured too far out hunting and was seen by the member of the town. When he attempted to approach the woman screamed out, running back towards town, fascinated by a girl who appeared to be his own age, he followed her. Once he got to the town he was overwhelmed with the amount of people. He saw the girl again, she was speaking to a group of men in leather and chain, when she pointed back and turned she screamed again. Draken merely waved, smiling. Not understanding. However, after the men started shouting and firing arrows at him, he began to question. Why do they try to harm me? Have I done something wrong? when an arrow hit his arm, he questioned no longer; he turned and ran as hard as he could. He quickly outpaced the town guard, but unknowingly left a trail of blood straight to his home… Once home, he spoke to his mother about everything and her face darkened as she slumped her head, and shoulders. She spoke not a word as she tended his wound, but when she finished sat back and covered her face with her hands. She spoke then, she told the boy everything. She told him of his heritage, of his birth, the town running them off, thinking them both dead. The boy didn’t understand. He had never harmed anyone; he had never even drunk blood once he learned it was wrong. But they didn’t care, He couldn’t comprehend how people could so harshly and quickly judge someone because of their lineage, how even though he was one of the most honest children they would know, they condemned him to death merely because of his blood. It wasn’t more than a day that a mob found them. His mother begged and pleaded, she told them how innocent, how kind and loving the child was. Her pleas fell on deaf ears. For still protecting them, they labeled her a witch, and a vampire lover, even her once husband, shouted in fear. They rushed the house and tied her and Draken up, then dragged them outside. Outside stood a wooden alter to Desna, and firewood was being placed on it, but instead of the boy, who they gave to the local clergyman, they tied his mother up to it. They said, that she would be burned, and that in the fire her soul would be purged. Ravens and crows had gathered among the trees, awaiting the feast surely to come. As the men held Draken’s face, forcing him to watch, they lit a torch and moved to light the alter. Just then, a voice boomed out of the mobs noise.
CEASE THIS FOOLERY AT ONCE! YOU MAKE A FOOLISH MISTAKE!
Everything grew very still and quite, as a man made his way through the crowd, he carried a backpack filled with books, and had a walking stick. With him was a lad with blade in hand, eyes darting all around the gathering. The man spoke again.
This is naught but foolishness! You kill an innocent woman! This child has done less wrong than anyone of us! I have watched them, and spoken to the mother on several occasion. To kill these people would be murder!
From the crowd, faceless voices shout.
He is deaths spawn! What can he ever be but evil? and calls of He is a vampire too! BURN HIM! STAKE HIM!

The professor appears to grow angry
SILENCE NOW! Control your fears or they will control you! These two have been living here since you ran them out, and have done you NO HARM! Use your heads! Stop a moment and THINK! I beseech you, ask yourselves, what have they done to deserve this?
As he speaks many torches are lowered, people begin to glance around, questioning there intents, the frenzy begins to die down... but then the clergyman speaks
DEVIL, DEMON AND DEATH LOVER! MISGUIDER AND BEGUILER! Surely you are this foul beasts Father! he jerks up young Draken.
YOU SEEK ONLY TO SAVE YOUR EVIL ILK! YOU PLAN TO TURN US ALL INTO YOUR SLAVES! The man rants longer, as he rants people begin to frown, and voices start to rise again. But then, as if an epiphany comes to him, the strange man speaks again.
I AM PROF. LORRIMOR, The Leading expert on undead and seeker of evil. I work with many of the church to root out evil and plots before they happen, and you sir I find guilty!

He pulls out a silver holy symbol of Iomeade, pressing towards the clergyman, suddenly the priest jerks away, hissing. The Prof presses on, and the man still flees. Suddenly a light as bright as day appears shining directly over the priest and he stumbles and falls, his wide brimmed hat flies from his head and soon the man begins smoldering.
You are the vampire that taints this town, YOU infused that child with the blood of undeath, You would have them kill an innocent woman, would say that child escaped, and blame any deaths, feedings and the like on him. Well you shall torment this town NEVERMORE! Now, GO TO YOUR ENTERNAL DAMNATION!
As it writhed in agony the vampire spit out a curse, and managed the sputterings of a spell, let you be cursed Lorrimar, let you and your family suffer for eternity! If I am to go to damnation, then I will see you in hell! Then suddenly, the gathering of ravens and crows took flight, and attacked Drakens mother, knocking the torchs from the mens hands and alighting the alter. They pecked eyes, and clawed ears, allowing the flame to grow and begin to burn the woman. Then they flew at the professor, only to implode upon coming near him. But the distraction caused the light to vanish, and the holy symbol to be turned away. The vampire morphed into green gas and escaped, leaving behind an echo of laughter as Draken watched In horror as his mother was burned alive, the flames too strong to be stopped. The screams where forever ingrained into his memory.
The prof fell limply breathing a deep sigh, looked up and said see, I knew those scrolls and training would come in handy one day.... im just glad they worked. I had hoped to finish him at a later time in more private terms, however my hand was forced.

Later, he was given the “key to the town” and apologized to directly by every single towns member whether they meant it or not. Draken only nodded, he didn’t want to forgive them, he wanted to blame them, wanted to get away from this narrowminded and stupid town. That night he snuck away from his new “family” and caught up with the man that had saved his life.
I want to learn from you. I want to avenge my mother, and make sure nothing like it ever happens again. I want to prove that even people like me, can bring good to the world.

Lorrimar, after a grueling session of questions, accepted. After teaching the child for 5 years, he figured he had learned most he knew to teach for now, and bid him join a church that Lorrimar had ties in. After a long discussion, Draken Accepted, and joined the church to learn to combat undead, and evil, further. He was trained in his deities favored weapon, and taking advantage of his natural agility, taught him how to wield a crossbow, and bow. He learned more about the weakness of the undead, even studied fiends and demons, though to a lesser extent. Eventually, he was sent on his first mission, clean out a small catacomb of any undead and slay the necromancer there, he was accompanied by a paladin and a cleric. He proved his worth that night when he personally slew the necromancer with a crossbow shot to the head. After that he began to study a new weapon, black powder, and firearms anything to help him find, and kill the monster that took his entire world from him. Eventually, a few years after the day he was first left at the church, a letter came. It told of Lorrimars death, and that he sought to gather his friends together for a reading of his will. It mentioned that it was of the utmost important to come. Not more than a day later, Draken put his quest of vengeance on hold. Not more than a day after that, Draken Caladran Lorrimar, set off to the professors home town. A heavy heart and a heavy step followed him the entire way, he was forced to stay away from towns, lest his blood hinder him. He couldn’t help but think, one day, I will be allowed to freely walk where I please, I will prove to the world that a dhamphir can be… good. . Finally he reached the town where the man that saved his life would be buried, the man he looked up to, idolized, a man he called father.

let me know what you think please.

Submitting Vivia Zoran for your consideration

Hi if you are still looking for players, I am interested in playing. I do not currently have stats, but I'd like to play as an Oath of Vengeance Paladin. I'm typing up stats and background for her now - I have it all written up and expanded on elsewhere. Linked in this alias's profile

I am at college as a computer science student, so I pretty much always have access to a computer every day, so I should be available for to post every day!

Silver Crusade

BTW I can post several times a day

I'm seeing a lot of alchemists being submitted, yet each unique. Besides alchemists, the others look great, too. I don't envy the GM's inevitable final choice.

Yeah I'm enjoying reading all of these, very nice everybody!

This is true but, I don't care about filling roles I would rather have a group of all fighters that can role play well than a completely balanced group ^_^

And recruitment is still open for two weeks ^_^

Only for the Commanding of undead. No actual channeling of energy.

Silver Crusade

Have you looked into the undead lord archetype for cleric?

I figure the glut of alchemists doesn't help my chances. But darn it, I've been wanting to play Vivia for a while now.

@rorrek 55

I'll look over your character tonight just glanced at it so far, but it seems cool tell you what I think soon

I was thinking it would be really interesting to see a bunch of alchemists all specced differently in the same party. But yeah, alchemist was the first thing I thought of and it looks like lots of people are the same way.

On necromancers, I tried building an arcane necromancer once and ended up going with a negative energy channeling cleric because it was so much better at the job. Just getting access to Desecrate and being able to channel to simultaneously heal minions and hurt enemies is a big advantage on the cleric side.

Fun fact when channeling you have to choose whether to harm or heal, you cannot do both. It's a hard to find rule but it's somewhere in the books. Learned from my time playing a necromancer.

Anyway, I finished up my character, so if you've looked at it before there is now a finalized version on this alias.

Dropping Jeane, don't think I can change the character to meet the needs of the game and still have the same interest in the character. Hope everyone has a lovely time.

I have my stats. I just need to work on my background, personality and appearance, and prologue response. So I should have it up soon.

Silver Crusade

Draken appearance-
Think a similiar get up to the iconic inquisitor but pure white robes and hat with a black feather on the hat.

like this, except pure white color and male.

Holy crap you hit that nail on the head with that ^_^ I know you said that that was an old back round you made but dam dude awesome. It completely captures the feel that I want for this game if you could though add some more hooks like that so I could use it in this game loved reading that props

Silver Crusade

Thanks I wanted to get a feel of wanting revenge but also wanting acceptance.

People in the setting he would most likely know-
Kendra,I see them being close to the same age, and having been with the Prof for 5 years surely would have met.

Also, I'm sure the girl that first encountered draken is somewhere in the setting.

I'll get an alais up tonight.

Updated background to fit the theme better. Hope you enjoy.

On second thought, not enough time to commit to another game with a daily posting requirement.

My apologies. Withdrawing.

Okay I decided to commit to my build and added a backstory. Personality and Description pending.

Silver Crusade

bah, I can't decide on melee or ranged inquisitor :/

Silver Crusade

I can't find this thread in the recruitment section, can others?

Yes, I can still see it in recruitment, it's a few entries down for me.

Have been a bit busy. Lately but I will look over what has been submitted so far and offer some feed back. for anyone else wanting to get in, I'm still taking applications for about 10 more days ^_^

-Posted with Wayfinder

that's so weird, it still won't show up for me in the recruitment thread. huh. Any way, I think everything is in order.

Vivia Zoran wrote:

I get and like your concept, but goblins don't fit with the world I'm setting up for player characters seeing as how most everyone in this region is massively xenophobic is another game I'm going to be trying to set up that's probably going to be the serpent crown but I might not be for a few months your character would work for that.

For everyone else I'm still going over what you have so far I'll have better feedback on your character in discussion for those who have already submitted one I'm still taking more submissions if anybody wants to submit other characters

I would rather use a wizard instead of cleric but there aren't any options that I see to heal the undead I create or summon. I could go Mystic Theurge but that would mean missing out on 3 levels of either wizard and cleric and I couldn't take it until level 7. So I was wondering if some things could be changed:

Mayhaps I could take Corpse Companion from Undead Lord instead of a familiar, that way I always have at least one undead and they aren't too expensive to create.

Change Power over Undead so that it acts like a channel negative but only to heal undead and cleric level is wizard level -2.

Or

Change Bolster to heal as Inflict spell instead of usual benefits.

Or

Add Inflict to spells known.

Thoughts?

I'm going to reply to you in the discussion Jacob since I think Espiritu wants to keep this for submissions.

ok i like what i see so far hope to get a few more submissions tho...

Dotting, I hope to have a submission together tonight (DSP stuff allowed, so a pathwalker psychic warrior).

Ghorrin Redblade

As mentioned earlier this evening, here is a half-orc psychic warrior, Irlena Vanivek.

Description:
At first glance, Irlena appears to be a rather tall human woman, with a powerfully athletic build. A close look might reveal a slight grey cast to her skin, if you knew to look for it. Long black hair is worn in a single braid down her back. When roused to anger, her green eyes blaze with the joy of violent movement. Under the left eye is a cut across her cheek; those who know local dueling traditions will recognize this as a ‘Lepidstadt scar’.

Background:
Irlena Vanivek grew up in the region now known as Canterwall, the only child of a family that would charitably be called ‘minor’ nobility. In more rarefied settings, talk might have circulated about orc blood in the Vanivek family and its manifestation in the tall, rough-mannered girl, but living that close to the Hold of Belkzen, it’s almost more remarkable when a family doesn’t have someone like Irlena in it, so it just became One Of Those Things That Aren’t Talked About. Her family sent her off to study at the University at Lepidstadt, but she was not the sort to retreat into a stack of books. She found her place at university in sword duels, where she started to earn a name for herself as a swordswoman of no small skill.

But soon she started having odd sensations when she fought; moments of strange euphoria when she would lose all sense of time, see double visions of a room, or find herself distracted by overwhelming feelings of deja vu. Whispers started to circulate about the peculiarities surrounding Irlena, that she was possessed or insane. The rumors piqued the curiosity of Professor Lorrimor, who took the girl aside and helped her discover the truth about herself: that she had the ability to manifest psionic ability. He helped Irlena learn to channel and control her ability to the point where she could use it to predict an adversary’s moves in a fight. Forever indebted to the Professor, Irlena returned home to Canterwall. Not long afterward a letter found its way to her that would change her life...

Personality:
Irlena is becoming a supremely confident young woman. Not quite arrogant, proud of the abilities she’s learning to harness, and eager to take measure of herself against worthy foes (that so far have proven to be little more straggling orc raiders from Belkzen). Possessed of a rather brusque manner by nature, Irlena is aware that she is not exactly a “people person,” being pleasant is something she has to make an effort at, which sometimes comes just too little, too late.

(n.b. I still need to give her equipment beyond just "pointy bits")
