She couldn't help but smile. "The names of your children. ...and you and Kam have chosen a new family name? It seems like a fitting one. A little bit of both of you....Does your grandmother know that you're naming one of the babies after her? It seems like something that would please her..."

"And you're sure those are the only secrets left you haven't told me about?" she asked, wanting to be very sure there were no further surprises going to be sprung later on.

He smiles at Ginni "I told you I'd figure something out. This should work sweety." He says, giving her hug.

Bradley shrugged. "Maybe he didn't see you. Maybe he had an appointment. Who knows?"

"Yeah, that sounds great. Even if I can't do anything, just to be able to watch the birds again would really make me happy."

"This? This is called a cheeseburger. Yeah, it's beef and cheese and lettuce and tomato and pickle on bread. It's delicious....want a bite?"

"Most likely, yes.. " She eyes the pro-offered burger and wrinkles her nose a touch saying, "Perhaps .. another time. I .. the smell is a touch, too new to me. Thank you, your offer is appreciated."

She plops another sushi into her mouth and looks around, seeing some younger people, admiring their faces and clothing, then any gear, before looking back at Bradley.

"If you wanted, we could attempt to get to seeing some birds. What do you mean by 'watch the birds again'. You've said that a few times now- was there a specific set of birds you wished to see?" Her tone was merely curious, nothing pressured in it, seeing as it was mentioned a few times in similar fashion. While speaking with him, she kept her eyes on his face.

She'll continue eating, though she's looking around more now and then, especially if there are other people idling around or passing by, apparently somewhat distract-able.

Bradley blushed, embarrassed. "No, that's not it...it's what my grandpa always used to say. Whenever I went over to his house he'd always ask me if I wanted to 'watch the birds'....I guess I was just mimicking that phrase without realizing it."

"We found a music box on Ianth. I've developed enough earthbending to move pebbles, and you saw how I can shift my hands to their draconic state. Rylith is name after Kamenwati's mother too. We'd have named her after you and her, but we couldn't mix the names in a way we thought would fit her."

"Kam has a secret too, but he's not bound to divulge it to you like I am, is he?"

"You're right....Lilanda sounds.....awful actually," she laughed. "I'm surprised considering Kam's relationship with his mother....but I suppose things weren't always bad between them and there's something to be said for remembering the good times."

"Well, I suppose it depends on the type of secret. If it's the type of secret that doesn't involve springing horrible schemes on others, then no, he's not bound to divulge it. Little secrets that don't hurt anyone else I can live with. It's when they start piling up into bigger secrets that it becomes a problem."

"I have a secret too, but I can't tell you because it isn't my secret and the person it belongs to has to decide when to share it. That is a big part of why I've been having a very long day. Someone was spying on us when that secret was shared and...and I can't find them. So if either of you have any great ability to track someone across the shadow plane, let me know because nanites apparently just can't do it."

"I am pleased to see you developing your earthbending....I'd be happy to help with that if you like....if you hadn't gotten expelled I'd suggest you take classes since the earthbending teacher is a fellow student of Master Quo. There are times I really miss the old man. Like now. Even if he did sound like a fortune cookie when he talked."

Dara only needs small bits. When he panicked he would have instintively grabbed for any metal on Kaze....so pretty much been drawing him straight towards them before he(Dara) lost consciousness.

Sadie fort save to stay conscious 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22

Nope, not so much....and now Dara and Sadie are falling since they don't blink with Vai...

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

Vai (somewhat stupidly) roars in triumph as Kaze falls limp in her teeth, the sweet taste of blood filling her mouth. She enjoys the feeling of bone crunching between her powerful jaws, and then tosses her enemy to the side, his body falls some distance before vanishing, teleported to the infirmary. With him gone, the air returns to Vai's lungs. She roars again, her wings and arms splayed out in victory, the taste of blood making her feel powerful and dominant.

Technically, Vai can bring people with her during her Dimension Door... but this works too. Editing this post to reflect... stand by

Suddenly Vai snaps out of her bloodlust, realizing she had let her riders fall during her teleport. She swoops down, carefully plucking both Dara and Sadie out of the air with her back talons. What was she doing? Where they okay? Seemed to be breathing. She casts Detect Magic, seeing that they were once again breathing normally with nothing interfereing. Vai teleports the group directly into Aananda's lab.

The appearance of Vai in the lab is disturbing for several reasons. She has Sadie and Dara in her claws, unconscious. More disturbing is the blood in her mouth. Both Taron and Aananda immediately see both these facts, and Vai is quickly shifting back to her half-elf form, sobbing and spitting out blood from her mouth as she looks over her friends to ensure they were okay.

"We were going to be free to go where we wanted after that. Travel the Empire and spend all the time we wanted in any spot without worry. Then I got that thought bouncing around in my head. I managed to convince the others to go along..."

"If we can, we'll stay here for a while and watch our eggs hatch with everyone. If not, we'll send you a video from wherever we find safe enough for them."

"Vai! What happened!?"

Image

"Vai! What happened?!" she asked, highly alarmed as she grabbed a first aid kit and immediately moved to check to make sure everyone is okay.

Sadie and Dara were already starting to come around. Aananda pulled something out of a drawer and fitted one over Dara's nose first and then over Sadie's. "There, that should help your body restore oxygen a little faster."

"Vai, are you hurt?" she asked, checking to make sure none of the blood was from her.

"Well, it sounds as if he found a way to bring you peace.. perhaps he knew of what was happening. Is he still at his house? Perhaps word can be sent, or a visit."

The food in front of her was nearly all gone, but she did not mind, each time they talked further, she was starting to paint something of an understanding on this person, Bradley.

At the very least, as well, she had company too. It dawned on her for a moment, and a soft smile formed on her face for it. Bradley certainly wasn't like the others, all haste and rush, asserting themselves. It struck her as ..refreshing.

"Some boy attacked us! In Sifu Daiyu's classroom." Vai sobs, still trying to spit out blood from her mouth, trying to get her sobs under control at the same time. "I'm fine, I sent him to the infirmary... They're going to be okay right?" Vai seemed worried about more than Sadie and Dara... a worry which isn't contained very well. She's a little hysterical. "Why did I enjoy that so much?! Mom, I.... I really liked the taste of his blood, the feel of crunching down on him... what's wrong with me?" the last phrase squeaks out of her.

Sorry folks, fell asleep writing the last response. Dangers of posting from bed I suppose!

"The thing is...where does the council get its power from? Think about it. Everyone does what they say because they agree that the council was in charge....but what if people stop doing what the council says? In small numbers they just end up punished or abjured....but in large enough numbers.....maybe new laws and a new council can be made....But all of that only works if we get there peacefully. And it's not going to be a slow process. I know it's something that Dad has been working on for a long time."

Ardiente sighed. Think long-term... that was the answer? "They're not going to go without a struggle. This is going to end in all-out war isn't it? Or a schism. As if we didn't have enough trouble with surviving." he shakes his head, still frustrated and confused. "You father must know that though. Alot of the young people at the Sun are sick of the old ways - myself included. But... I dunno." At the very least, the quasi-political discussion seems to have pulled Ardiente's worries away from himself and his family and perhaps towards more familiar ground for him.

As Vare steps into the outdoors, once again wary of the snake-handled door, his mind is assaulted by the garden's strange appearance. Usually plants didn't have projections, unless they were sentient... so many different and strange projections. A place to be avoided. "Dammit, we're never gonna find my room. Are you sure you don't want to come back Out Rena?" his companion shakes her head vigorously, "I'd rather wander until the student body is asleep again than risk coming out." her voice was still a little strained. She didn't like being called a monster. "Alright. I won't push you."

'So, you were in a hurry to leave the dining hall, hungry again yet?' the scarf is still around his neck, so Jaiye can see his smirk. He was, of course, teasing her.

Lang practicing his water bending basics decides to try something new.

he remembers how he was able to change the temperature and freeze the water before, but that wasn't planned. can he tap that power again?

ang tries to manuver the water ball and hurl it onto the lake like an attack hopeing to freeze it into an ice ball at the same time.

but his motions are off, again he ends in an air bending form and the ball of water flies in the wrong direction back into the garden turning into a more of a slushie consistancy.

the ball lands at Vare's feet.

Lang looks back embarrased. but relieved becuase its usually Sun that ends up wet.

I thought I was supposed to be better at night, or was that during the full moon?

I'm sorry about that did you get wet?

Tyrrin doesn't seem overly impressed with Ghalen's manners - manners were simply to be expected. Social situations required etiquette, and Tyrrin merely assumed that Ghalen was following what was required of him.

Tyrrin makes a very small startled noise as the skimmer accelerates rapidly, taking her slightly off-guard. It was one thing reading technical specs... it was different actually feeling the acceleration.

"I could be mistaken, but I believe the wards only erase the memories of our enemies. Which, you have said, you are not. I understand that you may not want to put your memory on the line, simply to test it. And thank you for the compliment, but the heavens have plenty of beauty already, and I fear I do not compare." Ghalen gets the sense that Tyrrin isn't being self-depricating. Rather, hers is still the wonder of someone who had not seen the sky all her life, and is only starting to explore it's wonder.

He looks concerned at her noise.

"Sorry! I'll take of easier next time. Did not mean to startle you."

"Yes, I suppose that's true. The wards must read intent then. I shall ask Aananda about it, and see about taking you on a little trip to see for yourself. And don't sell yourself short, Tyrrin." he smirks

They reach just outside of town quickly, and Ghalen looks around for a place to set down, and find their destination.
"Where was this restaraunt at?"

The rather scruffy looking man jumps back, the slush ball only splashing in small part over his shoes. "Cold!" he says loudly, startled. A quick cantrip and his shoes and feet are clean and warm again. "I am fine, young master... who is your friend?"

Inside Vare's Mind:

Rena was watching these two figures with interest. "I think the dragon being is angry Vare... be careful. I will come Out if you need me." Vare nods, grateful as always for his friend. The voice of the backhoe contruction had been that of a young man... it didn't always mean that you got the gender right, but Vare hazarded a guess.

Lang watches it nervously at least I hope that's all it is

Again I'm sorry about the ice thing I'm still learning to control my water bending.

Lang tries to put his hand up by the snake hopeing to gently guide it away from his neck.
