He looks up at her for a moment before looking back down again.
If she knows much about animals or dragons, looking another in the eyes is seen instinctually as a challenge of dominance. He may not be looking at people to avoid confrontation. Unintentionally, of course. No one is really aware of their instinct.

"It's nice to meet you, Lewis." She put her hand gently on Lewis's shoulder. "You have such pretty scales."

"Would you like to come meet Kitty? She's very nice. She's sad right now, but I bet even with that she'd like to meet you," she said, her tone gentle and encouraging.

"Uh, hello, Simba," she said nervously as she looked at the large owl. On some level she was very intimidated by the large predator. She knew that even in bird form she wouldn't make a very enticing snack for it, aside from the temperature issue firebirds tended to be poisonous to such things which certainly discouraged predations, but still the recognition of looking at a predator was a bit unnerving. Like meeting someone's pet shark or pet lion.

Lang stands right behind Ignace.

he really is a very nice owl. I have been his friend since shortly after he was hatched. I used to share everything with him, well before Sun and before i came here. I don't even know if he understands me at all,but it is nice to have him , and Sun, when I want someone to talk to, He really is a great listener.

Lang shows Ignace where to pet him and where not to touch.

@ Sara:

I am not worried about Stats for Simba due to his really minor role but there is a giant owl stas in the bestiary already.

owl speak to Sara:

If you fly with us you will see the mountains they are to pretty to describe. and to answer the other question, that girl, she is the one Lang kept talking about, how pretty she was, how he always looked forward to seeing her, and how he always managed to say the wrong things to her and wishes he was so much smarter about that kind of stuff

Was that not truly breath taking? We could return, yet, the speaking is an issue in that muck of it's atmosphere. The teeming new born life... Every second there, the illumination and conditions cause new beginnings, at an unprecedented rate- ahhhh, glorious to behold with my eyes, and these new found senses. How is your friend, the Kitsune? He appeared restored to health, I am glad he choose to return all things considered. I must ... Focus, one moment."

With that, Anahita stood quiet and closed her eyes, drawing in a breath. After a few seconds, she opened them again and smiled awaiting a response with a calm expression about her face.

Vai was also taking deep and calming breaths as Anahita talked, obviously the adrenaline from the experience was still fading away. Her hair had fallen in front of her face somewhat, but she pushes it back so that it's tucked behind her pointed ear. "I'm not hurt, thanks to you. It really was beautiful. Very... intense, but wondrous as well." She does speak somewhat with awe in her voice, but then turns to face her companion. "Keme's doing fine. He was getting up and seemed to be doing well."

"Maybe we can go back shortly... but I thought you wanted to speak with me? How are you managing now that you've had a little more time with this?"

But, I understand her draw to this place, I think my patron finds it as delicious as Hope, as nothing is as willingly deceptive as an insecure teenager.
Did she make the mistake of sharing any of her plans with Lumos with you before you decided to turn on her? Did she want you to kill Vai?
What does she hope to gain with an alliance with her?"

"She's not stupid. I don't think she offered the position to anyone here...I think she had someone in mind out in the Empire. Things are bad out there I guess and that's the best time for her. When people lose everything, all they have left is....well, hope. It's a feast for her and one she enjoys given her penchant for pain and suffering. And since Lumos's more powerful Champion wants to destroy this place, she's having her new Champion build their power up elsewhere. I'm not sure how, but they plan to destroy this place....it's got so many Champions here that it really is the most efficient way to strike a blow against all the others. It was....it was supposed to be a three way alliance, but Ephebe has something on Kronos. Something big. Big enough to force him to back out. They....they don't want to destroy everyone, but...they feel like there are too many Patrons. They want to destroy a few of them. Which means first killing their Champions to make them more vulnerable...she seemed to think it had been done once before. Madness meant to do it to everyone but himself. Lumos and Hope are being more selective and using an alliance to make it happen."

"I don't know if Lumos is planning to kill the Vai here....I do know that with the more powerful version out there, that our Vai is less valuable to Lumos. More easily sacrificed. But they probably want her alive for now so they can use her as an unwitting spy."...

"She had mentioned in her tirade that she had destroyed Avalon in other timelines. Why tell us this though? If we leave under the assumption that we are the cause for Avalon's troubles, then we will not be here to protect it if we are wrong.

We need to find the new Champion of hope, and stop them before they gain power. Shadow and Love are operating in the Empire. We should send word to fill them in, and have them look out for the Champion."

"A lot has happened to me sis, though most of it for the better, I believe. Several months ago, perhaps about six now, I was visited in my dreams by the spirit of Agartha, the world we live on. She informed me that some great evil was going to attempt to destroy this world and that She had chosen me to be her emissary and defender. She laid before me two monumental tasks, to seek out the powerful artifact The Heart of Agartha, an emerald infused with massive life and nature energies and bind it to my own heart. It was, without a doubt, the hardest I've ever done. Not only due to the physical challenges, but the spiritual ones as well." He sounds a bit sad as he says this, as if he faced something terrible.

"The other task I was given makes finding the Heart a simplicity. I am to attempt to unite as many of the natives of this world as possible, to face this coming threat. Not just the peoples either, but the very beasts and trees themselves. When I awoke, I lay in bed for several pre-dawn hours, contemplating her words. We Lycans can't even band together, how was I supposed to convince other whole races? It seemed an impossible challenge, but one I decided I must take up, if the dream was true. Despite everything, I could not sit idly by and see the world I was so close to be destroyed, especially if I had the means to stop it."

His voice gets angry then, very angry. "Just as I reached this life changing decision, a band of elven guerrillas chose that moment to strike at us. It was a viscous, bloody fight, but we beat them back. Not without great loss however, including the girl I had intended to mate with."

All these events in their succession, though, leave a touch of suspicion. Perhaps you can share of your own acceptance of the role as well? Keme looked at Ryuzo oddly. "You don't really understand the psychology of fear well, do you? She was trying to demoralize us, but at the same time motivate people to try to stop her....make them do the whole last-ditch stand thing."

"Anyways, yeah, getting Shadow and Love to help you find the new guy is a great idea. And since I'm at the end of my usefulness, I'm gonna go check on Kitty and make sure she's okay."

"If there's anything I can do to help, especially to help protect this timeline's Vai, let me know. She's a friend and I don't exactly have a long list of those," he said to Fei.

"So you're some kind of shaman now? Does the alpha know?"

She sighed. "I'm sorry about your girl. I really am. And I understand where you're coming from."

"You're still dead wrong. And we'll all be dead if this doesn't stop. We kill them. They kill us. And on and on and on and on it goes until everyone is dead. Enough! At this point we've all lost someone dear. Mourn them, miss them, feel angry at the senselessness of it all...fine. But this revenge business? This idea that killing to make yourself feel better is somehow justice? Get the hell over it already. It's killing us. It is killing our people and if you want to be a part of saving them, then deal with your own pain in some other way," she said harshly.

She peered around quickly and re-appeared, seated nearby smiling. Clearly enjoying the method of movement.

"I'll... do my best, Anahita." Vai moves to sit next to the girl - the Champion of Life - not using her teleport as a way to move around when her legs worked just fine for it. She sighs a little, but goes into the brief explanation. "Okay... so the Patrons - of which Jivana and Lumos are included - are in essence all of their domain, personified and with sentience. They are so mind-bogglingly powerful, they view the gods as mere playthings. However... a long time ago, their battles nearly tore the multiverse asunder, and so they agreed as a collective that they would use mortals as a conduit for their power. That's us - the Champions." Vai takes a pause for a moment, a deep breath.

"We are, in essence, pawns in a huge deific game. The patron can gather power from their Champion's actions and location. This is probably why you feel so good when you're surrounded by the teeming scores of life on that world we went to - Jivana wants to encourage you to be around Life as much as possible - she will be able to draw power from it."

"No Patrons have all sorts of rules between each other, and honestly I haven't a clue what their games are sometimes..." Vai looked as though she was about to continue, when she stopped suddenly. This would seem odd to Anahita, as if Vai were being coerced or otherwise in not speaking, or in changing what she was about to say. After a moment, she does continue though. "As far as my acceptance... it's a little bit of a long story, but I'll start with Khoda I suppose. The first friend I made at Avalon was a sylph by the name of Nasima. She was... the Gate, or something, for a demi-god or something - some sort of extremely powerful Storm elemental. Either way... Khoda was in possession of a Seed of Destruction. Destruction is... similar in many ways to the Patrons, but he is not a single being, as that would require an act of Creation, which is the antithesis. So... Destruction's power is scattered among Seeds, and Khoda had gotten ahold of one, and was eating Nasima's soul though her Gate."

Another pause, Vai was getting a little nervous at speaking so long, but she keeps her gaze steadily away from Anahita for a moment, looking out at the sun shining it's light down on her for a moment. Remembering her committment to Lathander this morning. "Lumos - Light - offered me a chance to help save Nasima if I became her Champion. I accepted, and I do not regret it for one moment, even if..." Once again Vai is cut off mid-sentence, frowning now, apparently some internal struggle going on.

Female Human Teenager

Can you clarify if her pauses were noticeably 'odd'? Massive Sense Motive and/or Spellcraft to, perhaps, spot coercion?

Anahita nodded and listened, then seemed to follow Vai's gaze to the Sun, peering at it as well.

Closing her eyes after a moment, she merely asks, "So, as the agreed pawn, as you call it, do you feel you succeed in the appointed duties set before you? I cannot image what might be asked of myself I am already inclinded to do given my devotion to the Wyrd. There appears to be constants, even here, that are represented. Why I was sent here, however, seems more clear, without proof however. Jivana claimed I was breed for this, but, with all due respect the embodiment of all that lives may easily state such. It does give me pause in reflection on it."

While seated there, Anahita is clearly studying Vai's features and form as one might a complex piece of newly observed artwork. She is certainly intrigued without appearing anything other than amazed.

She does wait, though, seemingly in no rush. Where she sits, grass and other flora immediately near her is growing and now and then a small creature flies off, ladybug or similar. This seems to be growing outwards from Anahita's seated position in a full spherical radius with her in the center. Unless Vai opts to shrug off the other Patron's boon, she would realize herself charged with life, or positive energies. Not quite coffee in its manner, yet, stimulating regardless. Life's aura seems to grow outwards without noticeable bounds, albet, not in a rush.

With the agreed take twenty and whatever high int/dex bonuses there are, he can do the basic things. Nothing fancy, but it gets the birdies to the planet.
Hermes takes the controls and after giving Mel time to be safely off he follows after.
He follows air traffic protocols to the letter and even goes into the in depth radio tower to pilot protocols that are legally there but usually ignored.
After all the boring rules niceties, he follows Mel and Arthur back to their landing place on Agartha. His flight is textbook and very uneventful.

Vai does not appear to be affected by Anahita's aura of Life and vitality, though whether by her own choice, or whether Vai's own patron is blocking the effect, is not immediately apparent. "You and... Wyrd are friends? He's... kinda strange." Vai says, sounding just a little surprised at that, but she carries on. "Honestly, Lumos rarely gives me things to do, so I don't know if I really I have any... 'duties', though lately she seems to...." Once again, the girl falls silent, and she frowns even more deeply.

I hope we can be friends....I know what it's like to feel insecure in a new place and I'd like to help you."

She looked over at Repp. "I'm sorry to not have answered your question sooner. Dom is with Tami. They probably decided to sleep in after the events of yesterday. And Melody is okay too. But she has a detention this morning I think...she had some personal stuff come up during all the chaos yesterday. But you don't need to worry about them....Michael, do you think that Kitty would be okay to see us now? I know it might be a little overwhelming for her, but even being overwhelmed is better than letting her wallow in her current mood. I'm trying not to listen in, but it's pretty overwhelming."

Vai glances at Anahita, her expression curious at the girl's question. "No, nothing is wrong Anahita. I'm just a little distracted."

Given Anahita's superior perceptions and senses, she will note that Vai appears to be not telling the entire truth, but even more so... Vai momentarily locks eyes with the Champion of Life and nods almost imperceptibly, as if to say 'yes, there is something wrong.'

Simba re-positions himself closer to Sara but still close enough for Ignace to pet him. apparently really enjoying the attention

For all her nervousness, Ignace does know about feathers and how to find the right spot to scratch. Having feathers part of the time certainly helped that.

Asha giggled and shimmied across the beam to be next to Rena. "Okay, I've got the outside of the blanket. If you spin that way we should be able to get them untwisted so you can get out of them."
Asha gets the sense - especially since she had felt Rena's muscles at length the previous night - that Rena simply could've just torn her way out of the blanket. Instead though, she does follow Asha's instructions and eventually gets detangled, and splays all six of her limbs out, glad to be free of the dastardly sheets. "That was fun!" she says excitedly, turning upside down and hooking her legs on the rafters like Asha. "Like this?!" she asks.

"Yep, just like this."

"And if you want to twirl you pull yourself up and use your hands to hold yourself up and you sort of hop and twirl using your legs to keep your momentum going in the right direction...that's likely to be the hard part for you, getting the balance right. Because you're definitely strong enough and then some to manage it," she said appreciatively, reaching out and stroking Rena's arm.

"You are right, there will be another time for this discussion." Vare says, his hand going to his chin in thought as he turns back to watch the scene unfolding in the SIM with Jaiye and Silinrul.

"Perhaps my unique vision would reveal something about her? If what you say is true, and the girl can be saved, then I would volunteer for that, assuming we can take precautions against the disease." Whatever you might say about Vare, a coward he is not - perhaps even a little reckless with his own life, or just undervalues it.

"That could help," she agreed. "I'd have to consult with whoever is going to be treating her, see if they think this is a good idea, and what precautions would need to be taken. And whether they think the potential benefits are worth the risk. If I'm going to ask someone to go and do something that risky I'm not going to also second-guess them and undermine their plans."

Thus, there is likely to never be peace, and when I heard you were with him, and then saw you in bed with him, I struck. To be fair, I did so with my fist, as opposed to my claws, as I did not wish to kill him, yet. However, he has much to answer for."

"Well, it didn't come from Ehos. Or Tyrrin. Hell, for all you know he was lying...or was telling the truth to the best of his knowledge. To a soldier all orders come from the ruling family."

::Ehos, do you know anything about this? Or have any way of finding out? It's possible we might have a problem here...if someone is passing on false orders...::

"Yeah, he's killed lycans. Lycans killed his father among others. Because elves killed lycans killed elves killed lycans and so on and so forth. We all need to stop paying. It's time to end it. It's enough already! You know what the right thing to do is, but you're turning your back on it to pursue vengeance. Dooming our people to destruction DOES NOT HONOR THE MEMORIES OF ANYONE!!!!"

"Screw this! Defend yourself. I'm done talking to you. We fight now."

Do you want to do this cinematic or rolled combat?

male Jabberwocky Like this but chibi and not scary mount

Shoot. That's a me thing. I forgot she introduced herself earlier.
"I'm sorry. I guess I'm just nervous. People usually don't like me cause I'm a dragon. You and Repp are my first new friends."
He moves close to her leg, kinda like a cat or an insecure child, while she talks to Repp.
It doesn't help matters that the Bug-Kitty scares him.

That's it. Just a room. A room that has the wards against violence turned off. Or were you hoping for a 'natural' setting now that you're some kind of shaman so you could cheat to win?"
