The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Sounds perfect for this game.

Just keep Michael away from it. He's stated out as level 8, with his Copycat ability evening the playing field a bit.

*sigh*

You know that's practically an invitation. ;P

Shadow Lodge

Careful, he'll copy that Wail of the Banshee. After that, Madness will be trying to get his claws in him again.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Might anyways...Madness is getting a little desperate. He just can't seem to get his claws on his obsession...:)

Shadow Lodge

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. :)

I love that in this game this sentence can be taken as either a proverb or a descriptive sentence for something that is actually going on. :)

Make sure Enre is not around for Demi-Lich. Anyway what is everyone up to?

But...but....but he's the most likely to be able to squash it! :)

And do you mean in game or out of game?

Shadow Lodge

Now, interestingly enough, Michael might be able to stand against Champion-based powers... as long as he grabs a Champion's immunity to other Champion's powers.

I may have accidentally created something far stronger than I originally hoped for. Things may have gone horribly, horribly right.

I know he is why I said that, not fun for everyone else if Enre just goes and smashes it.

Out of game, I am in final week so I am relaxing until later. Have outline to do, than final tomorrow and Friday.

Me too on the final week. I took my first final this morning and am currently studying for my chem final this afternoon. And my math final is tomorrow morning.

Shadow Lodge

Finals, finals everywhere, and I missed yesterdays. :\

Oh, no! Can you do a retake?

Shadow Lodge

Yeah. Got weird block scheduling, so I should be able to take it tomorrow. Or today even, since my last period is a freebie, I think.

Well, good luck. :)

So I have two gods thought out woot.
Is a death god who is all about balance and justice a good idea?

Shadow Lodge

I would say yes to balance, but no to justice(unless it determines where you go in the afterlife).

My reasoning for balance comes from an old Greek myth, the one where Hades kidnaps his bride. He eventually agrees to let her leave his realm for six months out of the year.

The reason? Her mother, a nature goddess, was not letting any plants grow as long as her daughter was imprisoned(this is the reason for autumn and winter). It was explained to Hades that, if he didn't let her out, everything would die. This seemed like a good thing until it was further explained that his realm would stop growing after that.

In order for death to hold power, life must hold equal power.

Should of explained god more. My death god is the leader of the gods, he is also a warrior god. The justice comes from he choosing where you go in the afterlife. He also judges the living who have done crimes against well nature. Which are but not limited to genocide, making undead and turning yourself undead.

Shadow Lodge

Both balance and justice seem to fit then.

The Exchange

Male Human Bard 1/Barbarian 1

I've fought a demilich like that before. Going through Tomb of Horrors in 3.5. That one's considerably stronger, I believe, but still beatable.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

I played in a campaign where we went to epic levels in 3.5, and in the setting, undead weren't de facto evil. We had a necromancer who became a Demilich near the very end. Three of us attacked a city of mages and won.... I was thinking of running a PBP in that homebrew setting actually.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Well that would be an interesting world to play in. Especially if you were interested in playing one of the 'otherwise living'. :)

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

The undead thing was sorta a side-note. When my brother and I created the world we wanted to do away with all the Tolkien-esque fantasy stuff, so the world has only humans. The main problem with this of course is variety, so for races we split the humans into "bloodlines", each one based on one of the inner planes (fire, earth, air, water, light, dark (positive/negative energy), but with only very slight distinguishing features (things like eye colour, hair colour), so instead of racial motivations, it became an intense politically based game.

Damn, the more I remember it, the more I wanna play it.

Shadow Lodge

I had a Life Oracle in Council of Thieves that I said, at the end of the game, was pursuing lichdom as a way to reach the next "level of life." She was a doctor-type with the wasting curse. Quite fun to play. I'd recreate her for that game.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

I have a hate-on for Life Oracles right now.

In the Carrion Crown I'm running IRL, unless I throw enough damage at someone to kill them outright, the life oracle can have them at full health again by the start of the next round.

Quite frustrating playing a horror campaign with a healer so powerful.

Shadow Lodge

Take a look at the Heal skill. Yeah, I maxed that one out too.

Bestow Curse: There is a 50% chance that you are treated as Undead when effected by positive energy.

That help?

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

That would be freaking hilarious!

The Exchange

Male Human Bard 1/Barbarian 1

Now that could result, quite easily, in the death of whatever character gets this curse, if this healer is as good as you say he/she/it is.

This being said, I love it.

Shadow Lodge

Especially if it is the result of an item that has that particular aura hidden via magic aura.

Fear my ideas, for I help my GMs create monsters. Like the original Dweomercat for instance. CR 13~15 I think.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

They're going into a haunted tomb (an addition of my own design, so no spoilers), and I may just throw that in as a haunt on the last boss. I'll get something written up Dragonborn. Would anyone else want to play in that campaign? It would be pathfinder exclusive with 3.5/3rd party agreed to on a case-by-case basis.

My middle name is now in my profile. My plan to get it has worked!

The Exchange

Male Human Bard 1/Barbarian 1

I'd definitely be interested. Not sure what I'd play, but it sure sounds fun.

Congrats. I don't have a middle name, and I'm not sure I could get mine the same way you got yours.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Alright, I don't think we should crowd up Agartha's discussion board with talk of my campaign, I'll start my own discussion board before we talk about recruiting. I'd prefer to play with folks I already know than recruit a bunch of folks that don't commit. I'll have the link in an hour or so. (Gonna write a schpiel)

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Here is the discussion thread. Please post there if you're interested. I will updating the campaign info with a world map, countries, gods, and bloodlines, and that should be enough to start.

Shadow Lodge

I'm going to post this here so I don't give out ideas to a lot of people.

If this game is gestalt, I have two builds that will be very annoying.

Cleric/Oracle(maybe 2 paladin levels)
Domains: Healing and Protection
Mystery: Life

or

Bard/Master Summoner

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

No Gestalt Dragonborn. I am open to custom PrCs though, but I will tweak them for balance purposes.

Shadow Lodge

You're just afraid of my combos! ;)

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

pretzel/nacho cheese combos!

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Pretty much. I've seen enough of them in Agartha to KNOW to be afraid. :P

Shadow Lodge

Really? So far the only combo that made people afraid was Lysander's Soul Knife/Inquisitor combo. I wasn't even trying on the others.

I heard magus/full BaB class breaks things. I just wanted to rage and cast spells.

Shadow Lodge

Lyn, I'm sending an email.

And I have replied to your reply to my reply.....this gets silly quick. :)

Especially since I just replied again. :)

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

The godess of death in my homebrew was LN until she was corrupted by the god of evil CE.
So I'd say, yeah, that's possible and doable.

Ditto.

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

I played a LE magus (blackblade) inquisitor (normal) anti-paladin 20/20/20 (started Magus 10/Inquis 10) with some really lax multi-classing rules.

He was nigh unkillable.
The teamwork feats he took boosted his casting defensive checks,
He had the rage inquisition for when he needed to melee, and the judgements equalized any loss of BAB, and then some.
His Rp stuff was rediculously awesome, and he had a pet Glabrezu (with druid animal companion boosts, with profane bond class feature).

He was fun as hell.
