The wards are a bit sluggish right now, but they did knock out Ignace so it was only one round of damage. But with burns that bad he would be teleported to the infirmary. He's not in danger of dying or anything but no doubt lots of pain. Pretty sure everyone else in that hallway was a firebird.

Say what? He took 65 points of damage. When I checked his character sheet (which is when I noticed his age) he has plenty more hit points than that. Even if that's only when he's got his powers activated, they were activated at that time. So Jacob should be fine if a bit singed.

Maybe? It's not exactly clearly delineated. Regardless, Lamir was there, yes? He had the armor and shield and so on. So he should also have the hp.
Was he not in magic shield guy mode at the time?
I thought he turned into the guy and was blocking them.
Sorry for the confusion, everybody. I'll try to clarify:
1. Jacob has two legends (characters in stories that have become so renowned that they have a will of their own and work with those who can channel them). One of them is the Protector, a paladin-ish figure clad in full armor, a bastard sword, and a tower shield. This is who manifested when Jacob was defending Ignace.
2. The reason Jacob came to Avalon was that Lamir, a powerful demon, was bound to him after he wished for protection and came to the attention of a sadistic demon lord. This is the Synthesist part of Jacob's gestalt, except that Lamir is far more powerful and Jacob can't control him. So, the 250 HP beast you saw in the statblock is Lamir. Lamir comes out whenever Jacob is hurt badly-such as in this case.
Again, I apologize for the confusion. I'll clean up Jacob's statblock at some point. Any questions?

Okay, first you need to put Lamir's info under a spoiler tag to avoid any future confusions. Then you need to include Jacob's actual stats. His hp, CMB/CMD, etc are not listed. Also you need to detail what the legends do (what bonuses and such they grant) so that it can be easily viewed at a glance. Because I clearly had some misunderstandings about the character and that's never good when what you meant and what the GM reads don't line up :)
Long story short, this was never intended to kill Jacob. Still don't know his actual hp, so not even sure if 65 points of damage would actually kill him or if he gets any bonuses from his Protector thingy that would help. Worst case scenario he gets whisked to the infirmary before he's actually dead dead and is able to be stabilized and healed. Wards are sluggish not off.

Honestly I got lost too. Last I remember, Shees had made a pond (with fishies!) for Al to practice in and Ryleh was getting ready to walk him through learning to control his fear aura. Then there was a fire in the distance, and Ryleh and Shees were going to have to go deal with it, but then it went out. So as far as I know they went back to training Al. Pretty sure we can sum up in a handy-dandy training montage. :)
I have a cool idea, which would obviously need Lyn's approval:
I recently finished People of the Stars, which includes four new alien races, including this really cool four armed race. As there's about to be a ship containing new refugees arriving, I thought that would be a good way to intro the character.
Then I thought it would be a lot more fun if it was a group of new PCs, each a member of a different alien race. Doesn't need to be one of the four in the People of the Stars, but could include any number of nonstandard, bizarre races. Even throwing on a crazy template could work.
The group might even be your typical adventuring party, but the main idea would be these people were captured and experimented by the Empire/Dragons. This could be used to explain the template, or even the race itself.
Did not even realize that book was out. Are any of the new races up on pfsrd? Would love to look at them. Anyhoo, we already have a little bit of everything on Agartha already. (There's a thri-kreen working in the infirmary and nobody thinks this is even a little bit weird...need I say more. :P ) But if you have a character that you want to bring in from the outside, yeah, we pretty consistently get refugees from the Empire. Don't feel any time pressure to get in with this group of refugees. Pretty sure this game focuses on the individual more than it does on parties though, so not sure how practical that aspect of the idea is. But if it's just that you want the group to already have a built in social network amongst themselves it can work. It can also fall apart quickly. (Whatever did happen to Shara and how bad is it gonna bite us in the butt when we find out?....reference to our last group of draconic victims who were rescued and brought to Avalon) But that can be fun too.
We're gonna need a MONTAGE...lol I'm ok with that :)

It came out last month(or so), and I've had the idea long before you posted as Jasper for the first time, but I waited for Lyn to be in a better place to post about it.
Kasatha first showed up in the Advanced Race Guide as far as I know.

Well, there were four armed races before. Okay thri-kreen were 3.5, but that does not stop me from using them. And of course there's girallons. And probably some other stuff too. It's not like four arms was super rare. Aegis has an ability to get extra arms too if you were unfortunate enough to not be born with them. :P
Point is, it wasn't actually a super rare thing. Anyhoo, I'll look up the kasatha when I get a chance. Sounds interesting anyways.| 2 people marked this as a favorite. |

While I appreciate the consideration, there's no need to sound snippy about it. You have no idea how long Magic was working on Jasper either.
And it's not like there isn't room for more than one four-armed creature at Avalon. :)(Thank goodness. We can't afford to lose anymore infirmary staff. :P)
The point being that there is room for more than one take on any particular idea.

But dang, that is probably the longest post I've ever made on this forum, and if I hadn't had to go and/or if he was just a tad deeper into the madness place it would have been a little bit longer his plans becoming more and more ambitious and implausible
From converting the energy into matter to make more drones to get more energy
To using that energy to make a utopia
Or simply a super weapon to take out the empire
After that he would have gone on to "correct" melody's math ("you seem to have acounted for cosmic background radiation twice rendering rendering your area of effect off by a factor of 0.0112 percent off and [incert meaningless technobabble minucia]")

And that's the problem with comminicating in a text based medium. It doesn't communicate tone well. I'm glad it wasn't intended as a snippy comment and I think we're all on the same page here. Nobody trying to hurt anyone else's feelings. Sometimes similar concepts happen to come around at similar times.

1) I'm acting rather out of character in a manic sort of way. This tends to draw attention.
2) it's a group project. Communication is important (or so Hermes tells me)
3) he did ask you a direct question, and he corrected your equation
As a note: once this is over Arthur's next planned project would be to build a larger version of the arc reactor in his and Hermes' chests and just make metals as a byproduct
The thing is he would require a lot of start up materials to get the apparatus built and we don't even have a chunk of paladium the size of a small cat apparently and it would only work up to things with an atomic weight of iron or less, unless Arthur can do a better job of it than the sun and/or just forgoes getting any energy out of the reaction and puts a lot more in than he gets out so it won't be able to actually make paladium or any of the fun heavy metals but he's in the madness place right now and logic like that doesn't occur to him and besides that titanium and aluminum for example as a byproduct would still be very useful.

It's always spooky. You should know that. You're a Whovian. Last time I checked the list of things to be scared of includes (but is not limited to) statues, mirrors, strange symbols for the name of a wifi network, diet pills, and our own shadows. :P
Not to mention never knowing if you're awake or dreaming, and if you are dreaming, you're brain is being slowly digested by an alien crab and you don't even know it...
