Aishe looks the team over. "Well, if this is the sort of reception we can expect, probably best to heal up and make camp; once we recover our spells, we can continue."

Charles Beecroft |

Charles nods.
"I agree, that was painful. I think we should press on a little bit longer - perhaps explore some of the central buildings? That way, we have a smaller, more defensible area, in case we are ambushed during the night."
Charles also makes a point of searching the bodies for anything of value.

The sharp tang of woodsmoke fills this building, where a giant
fire pit set with roasting spits takes up the northern half of the
room, positioned just below an open hole in the roof. This building served as a traders’ hall for ancient
Sumitha. A recent earthquake collapsed most of the roof.
Two cyclopes labor here, readying the fire pit and preparing a massive pot of stew as they make the most of the tribe’s few remaining food supplies. The cyclopes defend their food against anyone who enters. Though they put up a fierce fight it is nothing compared to the rage and fury of your group as you catch them off guard.

Charles Beecroft |

Let's avoid camping in the Cyclopes' kitchen...
Charles decides that trying a different room would be a better idea.
Specifically, the building across the path.

![]() |

Smashed tables and chairs, all sized for giants, lie scattered about this building’s single, large room. In the heyday of ancient Ghol-
Gan, Sumitha hosted travelers from a variety of cultures, most coming to visit the Eye of Serenity. In exchange, the cyclopes charged a hefty sum, establishing an arbiter here to act as money changer.
Long forgotten among the detritus of Sumitha’s ruin, several
ancient coins from vanished empires can be found scattered about the room. All told, they’re worth a total of 2,500 gp to various collectors.
Luckily this also looks to be a good room to fortify and be able to get a nights rest.

![]() |

Where to in the morning?

![]() |

The night is indeed tense as the sounds of many cyclops wander the area. Though the night proves to be restless, the group still finds enough time to be able to recollect spells lost and bandage wounds from the gargoyles just a few hours prior.
With the morning sun Charles sets out to explore more of the structures. The architecture of this building is markedly different from others in the valley—it appears to have been built for human-sized occupants.

Aishe Kaleja |

Before resting, Aishe would have used up the last of her spells on healing:
Cure Serious Wounds (Jack): 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (6, 5, 4) + 9 = 24
Cure Serious Wounds (Charles): 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (1, 6, 1) + 9 = 17

Cure Light Wounds (Aishe): 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Cure Light Wounds (Aishe): 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Aishe shrugs as well, following Charles in.

![]() |

Looking around the building itself it looks to be completely abandoned for many years. Aishe uses the opportunity to heal the many injuries.

A large brass door provides access to this ruined hall, though an additional hole gapes in the northeast wall. Inside, much of the roof has long since collapsed and a garden of vegetation has taken root.
The cyclopes once maintained order from this ancient courthouse. Now, the building lies empty, overgrown with plant life. One of the trees inside bears a strange olive-like fruit, harvested by Ishtoreth’s tribe for sustenance. Several more root vegetables, herbs, and medicinal plants grow among the wild grass and shrubbery underfoot.

![]() |

Opening the large set of double doors Charles finds the passage to be completely shut off by a cave-in and unpassable.

![]() |

Charles finds this route choked off as well. Frustrated the bloodrager tries a few more doors to find them in the same state of cave-in.

Jack Handsome |

"What a huge pile of goo. Well on the other hand, I did not expect a castle stuffed with willing virgins and coated in gold and peanut butter! Well thinking of it Joy of the tropes, coconut butter mmmh. A well."

Charles Beecroft |

Charles shrugs.
"'Tis annoying, but there is not much we can do about it, at present. Local property values must be fairly rubbish, though..."
With a sigh, he moves to investigate the round structure in the middle of the 'yard'.
