Sorry busy day and internet was out last night.
"My, my ain't the Capt'n's boys imaginative. M'name's Allysen, the cook's mate."
Allysen comes by after she's finished helping dole out supper.
"Cook's mate? Yer lucky Kroop ain't been drunk in his cabin the whole voyage. Most of my time here he's been three sheets to the wind. Last cook's mate died in the bilges after cookin' a shyte supper for the Cap'n."
Sandara Quinn
Amerdan keeps to himself at dinner as he usually does, but he is attentive to the conversation as he divides his proportionately between himself and his new familiar. The strangeness of how pristine the animal's cage was germinates in his mind.
"Interestin' critter ye have there. Can't say I've seen him on the ship before. Strange that. Find him swimmin' by the ship or somethin'?"

Cog spends most of the time giving one word answers and doesn't seem to warm up to Jasmine at all. On the plus side, he doesn't seem to be more annoyed than usual.
"I've got things t'do. Coin t'make. Jasmine, Amerdan, Allysen, Sandara." he nods curtly to you all and makes his way over to a group of sailors playing a game of Liar's Dice and joins in.

The coins get secreted away wrapped in a bit of cloth with the other coins and tucked into his haramaki. I'm gonna have to find time to check out the quartermaster's store and see if they have anything worth my coins. Maybe I can recover my rapier? or find something of equal interest.

"Allysen! Looks like ye survived another shift in the galley. How'd it go?"
Since your turn was missed (sorry), I'll let you take two ship's actions if you so choose without penalty. You spent the day fishing with Kroop and must make a DC 10 Profession (fisherman) or Survival check to provide enough fish for the meal.

Amerdan looks up at Sandara for a moment before looking down at the otter once more.
"Yes, 'or something.'"
When his rum rations comes round, he tries to dump it. He was already fatigued when he had some the day before, but now that he's responsible for another life, he realizes that he has to keep his wits about him aboard the Wormwood.
Stealth check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 YES!
After discreetly disposing of his rations, he stares into his now empty cup, wondering how long he can keep this up.
Looking back to Sandara once more he asks in hushes whispers, "Sandara, what do you think would happen if the Wormwood ran out of rum?"
He'll try to influence her in the process with a Diplomacy check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Remember, you can also attempt to take up to two additional ship actions during the middle watch in the dead of night, but to do so you must succeed at a Constitution check (DC 10, +4 per extra ship action taken) or be fatigued for the next day.

yes I remember, but Seijiro has a sucky con and doesn't want to risk getting fatigued... last thing he needs is to fall asleep up in the rigging and fall... not to mention risking the whipping to follow if that happens.

She starts at helpful, so she's helpful to everyone but Amerdan who somehow managed to insult her.
She quirks and eyebrow and gets a funny look on her face, as if the tone you were using was somehow insulting, or if the question came across as incredibly naive.
"I think that the crew would get angry, but that won't happen anytime soon. We've got over a hundred gallons of the stuff on board."

That's cool, just a general reminder for everyone as well for those of you who are feeling extra adventurous.
Jasmine Rose
Jasmine is still a bit weak from the night before. She is calculating how she can make a few coins for gear. She should have taken a rank in perform.
Jasmine blows out a noticeable sigh when she hears over a haundred gallons. Typical pirates, plenty of bloody rum.
Amerdan Stormspeaker
Okay, I just reread the Diplomacy rules and now realize that that was the worst possible roll I could have made. I apologize. In Amerdan's defense, however, he doesn't spend much time around people and we didn't really know that she's helpful...
Seijiro
When he hears how much rum is aboard, Seijiro lofts a brow and smirks. Food sucks, but there's plenty of good rum... figures, they're pirates. Wish I were a drinker, I might even enjoy this.
He does look surprised at the tone in Sandara's voice and wonders what Amerdan did to piss her off.
Jasmine Rose
Jasmine leans in to Seijiro and Amerdan and whispers,We need our gear back at least few weapns. They are hunting merchant ships and we will be the first to board. Without weapons, we won't last long."
Watching each there reactions, "Grok likes me and we chatted today about gear...he needs coin but there are some short swords, long shorts, a fancy rapier, and a couple dagger,"
The cook is friendly and may loan a little coin, Adding a bit optimistically.
Seijiro
Seijiro perks up a bit. "A rapier, ya say? I'd be missing one, perhaps the one he has is mine... and a dagger. I've managed to hang onto a few coins those blaggards missed when they took me, maybe it's enough, eh? I'll have to cadge a few minutes time when Grok's open ta stop in... not easy when I'm up in the riggin's all day tho."
He pauses a moment in thought. "Fancy rapier, ya say? Maybe isn't mine then, eh? Mine was plain enough I think. Still, as long as it's sharp enough, dun really care where it came from."
Jasmine Rose
"Grok says not a shackles craftman, 20 gold, not sure if she will take less. I do know she won't give it on credit...we haven't built up the stripes for creidt with her. 2GP for daggers."
Seijiro
"Good ta know and yeah, mine wouldn't be Shackles-made, so mebbe it is. I'll find out when I can get in ta see her. Thanks fer tellin' me 'bout it. Twenty's a lot, though. She's askin' a steep price, that she is."
He sighs and bites his lip as he contemplates. I shouldn't have to pay for my own gear. I really hate this ship.
Sandara Quinn
Amerdan stares at her dumbfounded. So much for that idea... The witch lowers his head in a gesture of apology.
"I didn't mean to offend."
Over a hundred gallons? Bloody pirates.
She smiles and lights her pipe. "No offense meant, none taken." she replies, even a little unsure as to her reaction.
She looks around and moves closer. "Word is that Scourge's taken a special dislike t'ye four. Not sure what's got 'im riled up but I heard Sy talkin', said that the boatswain put 'em up to tryin' to keep ye all down in the hold before mornin' bell.", she takes a pull from her pipe. "That's just what I heard though, could just be smoke in the wind fer all I know. Any reason why he'd have it out fer ye all?"
Seijiro
Seijiro whispers to Sandara and the others, making sure that no one else except their own small group can overhear. "Scourge seems like a bully and most bullies are really cowards at heart. Mebbe he hates us 'cuz we're not cowerin' in fear o' him and his boys. We did stand up to em that mornin'" He shrugs.
"Dunno really, tha's just a guess. On the other hand, mebbe he's just a bastard." Seijiro chuckles softly and shrugs again, growing silent.
Amerdan Stormspeaker
Amerdan nods his head in agreement with Seijiro's remark.
"He's vile. I can only imagine what sort of man the captain is if he suffers Scourge to be in his service. Well, besides unfriendly, that is. But Jasmine is right, it seems like we are being set up for failure. Oh, and death."
Amerdan's tone is somewhat sardonic at that last remark. His trust of the others is steadily increasing.
Maybe Sandara's sudden negative emotions for Amerdan are a nervous expression of her suppressed feelings of desire? Eh, eh?
Sandara Quinn
Sandara thinks for a moment.
"Might be, might be. The worm made a pass at me t'night before ye all arrived. I show'd him my response with my fist an' he hasn't been fond of me since but that's a man for ye.", she winks.
"Maybe he's just a bastard and there's nothin' else behind it." She turns towards Amerdan. "Harrigan? A vicious, an' very dangerous Free Captain of the Shackles. Scourge is a soddin' cur but he an Plugg keep us little people in line which means he's at least good at his job." she rolls her eyes.
Jasmine Rose
Jasmine Rose wrote:Would Scourge in anyway know who my father is?Highly unlikely, especially if he sailed a long time ago. Scourge isn't exactly a student of history.
I was thinking more along the line of the slave trade.
Seijiro
Seijiro shrugs slightly, sighs. Might have signed up with this outfit if they'd asked me proper to begin with. Might have regretted that decision, but still, would have been my own choice. Now they've got an enemy for life. Doubt they care though.
He whispers, "Better keep his passes for the ladies is all I can say, or he'll be losin' bits he'd rather keep, I'm thinkin'." He chuckles darkly. Might be good at his job, but he's a hateful man, makin' enemies left 'n right. Be worth our while ta make friends with as many of them that have no love o' Scourge as we can."

The Wormwood
Day Four
Weather: Clear
Course: Southwest, passing to the east of Dahak's Teeth
Another day on the Wormwood begins and the crew begins to make its way up onto the main deck. The routine has been established and the amount of discipline both Plugg and Scourge enforce, as well as the nightly grog, has kept the crew relatively quiet despite how most of them are victims of impressment. Sandara and Rosie both say hello to the group and Cog, despite having an ugly look on his face, at least doesn't glare at them as he makes his way on deck.
Jasmine Rose
Jasmine should be back to health by this day. Jasmine will go to the Ambrose and ask him for a small loan. "My friend Ambrose," smiling and flickering her wind blown hair a bit, "Is there anyone that you spot me some coin, to get some of my equipment back. I know its asking a bit much...but...without gear, its basically a deathwish on the first boarding.
Looking at him with her bluish green eyes, "I'm pretty good at mending items, if you have need."
Pausing for a bit, [b]"If ye need anything written, a letter, a receipt or anything at all, I've got a realy pretty script."[b]

Should we assume that we continue our respective jobs as usual?
Knowing that he needs to get his healer's kit returned to him soon and that the ship's carpenter could easily fashion him a quarterstaff, Amerdan attempts to buddy up with Habbly Quarne.
If Amerdan can find the man, he'll approach him with the following:
"You are called Habbly, am I right? I understand that we share a common interest in medicine. While I have little experience in surgery, I am a practiced herbalist and I can help sedate your patients before surgery. I also know the herbs that soften pain, bring on sleep, and speed recovery. Perhaps we could both benefit from an exchange of our knowledge?"

She smiles and thanks him, kissing him softly on his left cheek, "Thanks you...it's so good to have ...a friend on board. Sure you don't need some inventory made or mending...pretty handy with both. She would smile happily, pick up flotsam and stroke him under his neck.

Daily tasks are allotted to the crew once everyone is on deck, as usual.
Amerdan has been assigned repair duty (DC 10 Profession (sailor) or Dexterity check) which is comprised of sewing sails, splicing rope and other such duties. Jasmine will be doing rope work today (DC 10 Profession (sailor) or Strength check. You must make a DC 10 Constitution check to avoid being fatigued at the end of your shift) such as tying and untying knots in the ship's ropes and moving heavy coils of rope from one part of the ship to another. Seijiro will be on mainsail today (DC 10 Profession (sailor) or Strength check. You must make a DC 10 Constitution check to avoid being fatigued at the end of your shift) which is raising and lowering the mainsail upon command.

"What do ye take me for? A novice surgeon? I know about those herbs, I even use them on my patients sometimes. Don't you have a job to do or were you assigned to bother me? Get back to work before I let Scourge know you're slacking!" replies the Stitchman, obviously irritated.

Jasmine starts to use her sailor skill to move on knot work and moving the heavy coils. The work is hard and tiring...

Amerdan stutters before leaving, obviously taken aback by the carpenter's reaction. He gives a silent nod before departing.
Deftly handled, Amerdumb. Now, just open your mouth a few more times and then you will won't have any friends on this vessel.
Amerdan returns to his duties even more sullen than he was before. He realizes that he has little experience with other people, but he's nevertheless confounded that all of his attempts at friendliness have been rebuffed or misconstrued.
Profession (sailor) check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Confused and upset, Amerdan masks his emotions by throwing himself into his work. Mending the sails reminds him of stitching wounds back on Tempest Cay and for the first time since his abduction, Amerdan's homesickness hits him like a fist to the stomach.
Jasmine Rose
At dinner time, Jasmine looks around the ship for her band of misfits. She gets her slop and finds Amerdan. "Hello, looks like gruel today," with can you believe it again expression on her face, " go get yours and come and have a seat."
