Pillars line the center of this long hall. At the far end is a low rostrum, the dusty stumps of ancient votive candles lining its outer edge. Two of these have been knocked over. Colorful murals of Thassilon pilgrims and giants marching over an intact Irespan cover the walls.

Surprise Round
Teeth looses a bolt at the rat on the far side of the room. It zips across the intervening space, but strikes the wall just above the rat, which squeals in surprise. He shouts, "Nasty ratses! Die!" It echoes down the stairways, altering Omoro and the rest of the party to trouble.

Nadja Cazynsik
Clicking her nails against the stone, Nadja purses her lips and waits for Omoro and Teeth to return. We still do not know the reliability of the goblin. The pensive witch muses. Omoro was sent along with him to hopefully curtail any foolishness, but one can never be one hundred percent positive of any factor until it has been closely examined.[/b] Closing her eyes Nadja straightens her back and brushes a hand against her hair, moving a lock out of her face. [i]Yes one can.. wait in the hell was that. Inwardly groaning Nadja listens as Teeth yells something about a ‘rat’ before Raven begins to sprint down the stone passage towards Teeth and Omoro. I should have left the little runt in that warehouse to die. Nadja seethes, rushing down the corridor behind the other varsian woman.

Nadja rushes up the stairs, catching up with the others.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
The tengu is about to take aim at the rat when he hears skittering up the stairway. He winces as he hears Teeth's shrill voice crying out to kill the rat again. "Che'! We've been spotted!" He rushes up the stairs to the next floor and tried to see the source of the noise. If I can silence it before it can raise the alarm...
Move up the stairs, and try to see if I see anything. If I do, I'll shoot it!

hehe DM - so the action I posted will go up after Omoro then?
By the way, I really enjoy the map - might actually make more sense to do it like that than the hassle of clearing PDFs and such, and it actually looks really cool - I like it. How did you superimpose the charcter icons - is the map assigned as background on an Excel sheet or something similar?
DM Bound Shade
@Omoro: You can't see any creatures from the top of the staircase.
@Jotune: No, the rat is not visible at all.
@Calendir: Nope, I was just noting that Omoro's action for round 2 was already received. Thanks for the map. It's done in Adobe Photoshop. The icons on on separate layers and I've got the lines lined up with a grid and use the snap-to function to line up the icons.
I've got Omoro's actions for Round 2. I still need actions from Teeth, Jotune, Raven, and Aurora.

Round 2
Raven delays, unwilling to rush ahead of her more martialy inclined companions.
Omoro
|
Omoro curses under his breath and returns to the group. "I am sorry, Nadja-san, our presence is known in these walls now. The mission has now gone from intrusion to invasion. We will meet readied resistance from hereon in. The Tower Girls know we are coming. Do we retreat for now? Or do we press on?"
Nadja Cazynsik
Looking from Omoro to Teeth and then back to Omoro, Nadja gives a sigh of disgust. We will speak of this later Omoro. Now’s not the time. Besides.. The witch pauses frowning at the thought. I should have known better then to trust an untried resource. You are not at fault for this discretion. At the word discretion, Nadjas voice turns cold and you get the feeling that if she had the power to she would have gone back then and their and cut out Teeths tongue while she had the chance.. that or left him to the dogs. Making a dismissive gesture, Nadja points to the stairway. We must strike now before they have the chance to group up. If we move quickly there is still a chance we can over take them. Any hesitation and we lose the initiative, let’s move. Gesturing for Calendir and Jotune to take the lead, Nadja moves up behind them while calling upon her patron to protect and shield her.
Cast: Mage Armor and move up behind either Calendir or Jotune.
Teeth
You stupid. Not Teeth. You leader and had scout with light. Even goblin know that dumb. Teeth frowns at Nadja. You no longer Teeth boss. You no different than goblin king. Mean and hateful. Teeth work for these others now. He points to the companions who have been kind.
Nadja Cazynsik
As Nadja turns to move down the hallway behind Calendir and Jotune, she suddenly becomes very still. Quietly turning back to the foolish little runt, Nadja’s eyes are very.. very hard. Teeth.. do not mistake my leniency for weakness. This is your only warning. If you cross me I will have your name written down and spread among the city. I will hound you with dogs and curse you with things worse than you can think of. We have no time for infighting so I am making myself clear enough that even a goblin would understand. Do not challenge me again, or you will not live to regret it. I swear it on my secrets and shadow. Now move! The witch snaps, pointing in a sharp movement to the stairs while shaking her head. Idiot goblin.. I can't believe I allowed the others to bring him along.

Teeth
He cowers at the witch's orders. Teeth quickly moves over toward Jotune as he comforts him and holds on to his leg like a scared monkey. Teeth do what evil woman say. He whispers to Jotune with scared eyes. Teeth just want to help bosses and please them.
Teeth
Still whispering Teeth know when goblin womenses bleeding in places they hateful to male goblinses. They scream and throw things. Maybe evil longshank bleeding today? Teeth looks over at the witch and then ducks behind Jotune's leg again.
Calendir
Calendir places himself ahead of the group and at the base of the stairs, lifting one hand in request for silence, as he listens, and surveys the steps.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
If he hears no further sounds and detects nothing abnormal on the stairs, he starts moving ahead.

The group advances up the stairs to the next room. Pillars line the center of this long hall. At the far end is a low rostrum, the dusty stumps of ancient votive candles lining its outer edge. Two of these have been knocked over. Colorful murals of Thassilon pilgrims and giants marching over an intact Irespan cover the walls.
Nadja Cazynsik
Quit gawking at the murals and stay focused! Nadja snaps pointing towards far end of the room. We can come back and record them later.. we have more important things to deal with at the moment. Like keeping the Tower Girls from slitting our throats. Shaking her head in disgust Nadja continues to stalk down the end of the hall We have a job to do and they want to look at pretty pictures? Bah! Idiots!

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Omoro glances with idle curiousity at the mural, but only makes a mental note to come back after it once the attack is done. He silently treads up the stairs, keeping an eye to the shadows for movement. "Be wary. When they attack, it will be done obliquely. We will not face them directly. You know what we face in here, so ready yourselves accordingly."
Nadja Cazynsik
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
That was your last warning you odious little runt. Nadja hisses pointing at the goblin. I will brook no mockery from such a vile little nothing. Taking out a small black leather book, Nadja scratches the word ”Teeth” into it. I gave you your name and I can take it away from you. I will take your thoughts one at a time.. scribbling them down in my book. They will slip away from your tiny little head until this is nothing left. You will do as I tell you. Do you understand me?
Demoralize: You can use this skill to cause an opponent to become shaken for a number of rounds. The DC of this check is equal to 10 + the target's Hit Dice + the target's Wisdom modifier. If you are successful, the target is shaken for 1 round. This duration increases by 1 round for every 5 by which you beat the DC. You can only threaten an opponent in this way if they are within 30 feet and can clearly see and hear you. Using demoralize on the same creature only extends the duration; it does not create a stronger fear condition
Shaken: Characters who are shaken take a –2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.
Intimidate: Demoralize Teeth vs DC12 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Demoralized for 2 rounds.
Nadja Cazynsik
Look at you! A dark voice wells up from within the shadow of Nadja’s soul. Being manipulated into anger by a goblin.. a goblin of all things?! You should be disgusted with yourself. Stomach heaving Nadja takes a single hesitant step putting an arm on a column to steady herself. Do NOT forget the bargain we made sweetling.. The oily black whisper resounds within Nadja’s skull, sending a shiver of pain and ecstasy coruscating through her body. As she does so her snake uncoiling from around her arm, slithering up the woman’s shoulder and coiling lightly around her neck.. giving the most gentle of squeezes. What was giving can be taken away. As Dagon’s tongue flicks out testing the air and touching upon Nadja’s ear the witch gives an involuntary shiver. I.. I understand. Nadja stammers, giving an hesitant nod. My gifts are not for the weak willed. You have been chosen. Do not make me regret my decision.
Then as quickly as the blot of darkness overtook her it was gone again. Like a woman seeing the sun for the first time in weeks Nadja blinked rapidly and rstraitened her posture. Taking a deep breath the witch righted herself and then looked at Teeth before riping out the page from her book. Perhaps.. I was too hasty Nadja whispers. The fiery undercurrent of her soul disappearing beneath a thick layer of ice. Keep your name, it is well fitting Teeth. Nadja states waving a carefully manicured hand towards the goblin while tearing up the piece of paper. Letting the pieces fall to the ground Nadja takes single deep breath before setting off into the watching darkness.
Teeth
Teeth smiles a big teethy grin at Nadja showing off his pearly yellows. Oh thank you thank you! Teeth will not disappoint if you give him another chance! If you allow him to scout ahead, Teeth will do good. Teeth promise.
Teeth
Teeth Edges towards the stairs and starts ascending into the darkness looking for traps as he goes. Unless something happens, he will head up the stairs and see what is up there.
