We are already on round 2? I thought we were still in round 1? Oh well, I'll post in a bit.

I am at the Alabama vs. West Virginia game, so posting will be pretty much nonexistent for the duration. :)

I've got a specific request -if you could, please visit the new recruitment thread - link above - and give me feedback on the characters applying. I don't want more than 10, even temporarily, but there is an event coming soon...any not involved would never quite fit into the campaign - so this is the last recruitment, regardless of how many drop out - and you guys will definitely appreciate any contributing player by higher levels.
It was first designed for six, with leeway, but I quickly discovered I could take more, as people aren't always available...and I can bump the power of any encounter, as I see fit.
Help me pick some good ones for you guys!

Ditto for Auric and Nia'Nikta. They both seem solid and the most interested in the game, which are pluses in my book.

Hi all,
thanks so much for letting me hop in with you all- i'm really looking forward to it! i'm checking in now in case anyone has any questions for me or anything, and to stay up to speed so that when the time comes for me to join gameplay it can be as smooth as possible.
:)

Indeed, welcome. Let us hope that our combined might will be enough to complete this adventure!
Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist
Indeed! I foresee many interesting challenges ahead of us... and will be doing all I can to help make Sakuro into a powerful support unit who can help maximize everyone else's potential.
For those of you just joining us, I'm playing Sakuro - and as the alias name implies, she's a bit... weird... when it comes to magic. Any magic. XD Still, welcome! Your aid is much appreciated in our time of need!
(Both in-character and out of it.)

For whoever is interested, there is an aspect of the world - and the game - that I can involve the PCs in, or not. You.can all decide individually how interested your character is.
There are political factions - secret (and not-so-secret) societies that will become more and more interested in you as you become more notable.
Different societies may be interested in different characters.
Just let me know how interested you are in that aspect of it.
Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist
Sakuro's primary goal is the advancement of her own magical knowledge. If any society has access to rare magical information, or could teach her such elements, then she would at least hear what they have to say. ^^

Oh dear. We should probably look into that once the party is safe in town...
...
For a given measure of "safe", anyway. *Makes a note to bring that up later*
Auric Lightmane
I know this doesn't apply to me yet, but Auric is looking for his place in the world so any organization that seems to provide a chance to live out his faith and commitment to justice in a meaningful way would potentially be very interesting to him.

Something very prevalent in this world is order out of chaos...I really need to detail the primary god of the kingdoms - he's a LN god of Law and Knowledge...he's not at all the sort Auric would worship, but he's a huge force in that transformation.
There are definitely societies interested in promoting law over chaos, and some might even care about the people, if you follow. :)
Oh, and there are definitely the opposite. :p
Reiko Arashi
Reiko would accept almost any help he could get to help him remember his past... as vile and bloody as it was.
Auric Lightmane
I really need to detail the primary god of the kingdoms
well... I do enjoy crafting mythology (and developing the mechanics that go with it), if you'd like any help with that let me know :)

Well then.
Almost overwhelmingly positive. Let me stress - not getting involved with the societies won't mean that your character won't be able to keep up - as a rule, the benefits will be minor, but for those interested, and that do get involved, I do intend to make it interesting for you. :)
There are a few that are known publicly, to one degree or another, and I'll post common knowledge info from time to time.
A few to start with:
The Iron Gavel: This group is hardly secretive at all, though they may or may not have hidden goals. They resemble a fraternal order, ostensibly defenders against the chaos of earlier centuries, many buildings feature an Iron Gavel at their entrance, signifying membership. At the very least, one should expect to be treated fairly at these businesses.
The Spice Consortium: THE primary cartel of merchant princes, their economic power is truly awesome to behold. They have one publicly known member who speaks for the group. Though he has high-powered bodyguards, it's unlikely that he would be targeted by anybody sensible - the consortium would almost certainly ruin them, and they have a replacement groomed already.
