Also search the stairs (aid other) while using Detect Magic
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

GM

You search ever foot of the stairs, all the way back to the hidden room, where you started. You can find no passages hidden elsewhere, leaving you with the floor and the pillars as the only way to cross you can find.

Male Human Cleric 5

Only in D&D is a pile of free money more scary than a horde of raving axe murderers.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

"OK, time for me to go. Me will go first, and if me makes it, you all come."

He starts to leap, and then snaps his fingers. He goes in his pack and pulls out his rope, giving one end to Kelden. "Me will take this too, and once me gets to the platform, we can tie it down to help others get across!"

He then begins jumping pillar to pillar, towards the platform.

Take 10 on acrobatics, for a 23.

Sorry, my bad. Post edited etc.

Reread my post ... second paragraph. :-)

GM

So, so true, I was half tempted to make it real.

Vrealk Jumps from one pillar to another with out any real problems. They to increase in height with each jump, and each is only two feet wide. At the far end of the "Path", about thirty jumps later Vrealk sees it opens up into another tunnel

that is a long way. I can cast Jump once today. Who should get it?"

GM

Sooo, what are ya folks doing?

Seeing as it appears safe, Markhet and Larrs follow.

Larrs has a +13 mod to his acrobatics so assuming that the DC to jump from pillar to pillar isn't higher then 23 Larrs will simply take his time going across (read he takes 10).

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Once he reaches the tunnel, Vrealk creeps down a bit to scout it out while the rest follow. He uses his drakvision, not lighting any torches.

stealth 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (8) + 21 = 29
perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 +2 for traps

No takers on the +10 to Acrobatics for jumping?

I'm thinking our cleric is going to need it, he's wearing heavier armour, and it seems to me his dex isn't that great.

That's why I'm asking. The thing is I don't think Kelden can make it without the spell either, but his chances are better than N'Djamena's.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Celena looks at the gaps before turning to the others "Um a little help please?"

Maybe Larrs can come back and get Celena across? If so, that would leave N'Djamena and myself. One of us would get the Jump spell the other would have to try their luck... with 30 skill checks.

Male Human Cleric 5

Before he tries any jumping, N'Djamena will certainly take his armor and shield off! But first, he'll wait for Vrealk's scouting mission to finish.

Well Larrs would if he were a domesticated animal, but he's a lion, and as such he only tolerates the other PCs because Markhet seems to tolerate them. He's not likely to maul anyone without Markhet around but he's certainly not going to let one of you climb up onto his back without Markhet present :P

we could recon and have Celena hitch a ride on Larrs when Markhet and Larrs go across for the first time though. The only danger is if they get into combat or something . . . I'm not sure if Celena has any ranks in ride, but I suspect that her chances would be better with a ride check then an acrobatics check.

Dark Archive

Fine with that if Seeker is

GM

I am Fine with that, but it brings the DC up by 5. By Larrs can still make it. For everyone else the DC is 15

As Markhet, Celena and Larrs starts across Vrealk vanishes into the tunnel. He spots no traps in this well worked and Mural filled tunnel. Images of battle and glory surround him and after only forty feet he comes to large double doors of gold. A ten foot symbol of Rovagug stands out , etched upon the golden doors.

OK. New plan. I have a scroll of Reduce Person and can cast Enlarge Person. So, one of us gets shrunk and the other gets enlarged and jumpified. If Seeker keeps it a Dex roll I'm the big man. If he has it be a Str roll you're the bigger man (bull's strength will help in this case). You ready for this N'Djamena?"

GM

Poke

*Raises hand* Here. Still tying to figure out how Ayish is going to make all those jumps. She's too big to carry. I hope the extra ropes make a difference.

You have Acrobatics at +7. The difficulty is 15. You can Take 10 and make it across.
How many rolls do I need to get across? Will I need to make 30 rolls?

Male Human Cleric 5

Still waiting for Vrealk's report.

GM

I am not gonna drag this out, two will be fine

Do you have the guidance cantrip? If not Markhet does. Cast that before every jump, take 10, use the guidance bonus, with your dex and guidance bonus you should be able to make it across.

GM

She can take 10 and make it. The DC is just 15

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Acrobatics(1):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Acrobatics(2):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Sorry. Boards ate my posts. I think they've been a little funny over the past couple of days.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk trots back into view as the others begin to cross and waves them over. Once they arrive, he tells them what he saw further up.

Why isn't Ayish taking 10?

So here's a thought: why don't we say we all made it across . . . unless something happens on route.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Sorry for 'rolling'. Was just home from work and not thinking straight. *Bows*

Still following and hoping everything is going well for every one. (^_^)

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena will take off his armor, if necessary to have taking 10 succeed.

No need to apologize. Just wondering if maybe she liked to gamble! :-)

If we go with this plan

both of us should be able to make it. If not, would you like the Jump spell and I'll take my chances?

GM

Hell with it Although they Barely made it, having one close call when Kelden almost missed and went over the side, Both Kelden and N'djamerna have made it across .

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Yay! (^_^)

Kelden gives one more look at the treasure. "Let's get back to what's important. There's work to be done here."
Did we use the Enlarge Person/Reduce Person plan?

GM

Sure. Now I described the door above. Actions?

"Anyone else have a bad feeling about this? Kelden prepares to to enter the room.

Don't gnolls venerate Rovagug?

GM

Normally, No. V is the mother of Gnolls and more or less all worship her. Which made the Rovagug worshiping Gnolls here an oddity. In any case Gnolls did not build this place.

Sorry, I meant Lamashtu.

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena checks the door for magical auras.

"Markhet thinks that something evil is buried here and that no more gnolls will be found within. This one wonders if it might be best to leave well enough alone? Perhaps exploring this final room isn't such a good idea. Markhet imagines that the threat of the carrion king is over now."

Male Human Cleric 5

"Leave if you must, but Nethys has given me a sign that something important lies within," N'Djamena replies.

"Nethys? Like your god Nethys? Has he been talking to you? Markhet would never belittle a person's connection to his or her god but this one would remind the priest that signs and portents are fairly rare but visions and hallucinations could be symptoms of something else . . . including possession, magical suggestion, or even fungal infection of the brain. Perhaps next time N'Djamena is talking with Nethys the priest could ask a question that only Nethys would know, then we could limit the possible causes somewhat."

Male Human Cleric 5

"....So you're not leaving, I take it?" N'Djamena observes, with mixed feelings.

"Well Markhet was the only one who saw through the illusion," the gnome reminds everyone, "And well she'd prefer to have people listen to her advice for a change, she is fairly certain that the others would be in dire straights by now if not for the aid of little Markhet and her lion Larrs."

Larrs perks up upon hearing his name but clearly his master is talking about him and not to him and so the lion goes back to scanning the hall for something to eat.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

"Well we came all the way here may as well see whats behind the door."

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish prepares herself for the potential opening of the door.
