Its a mobile app that helps for posting on the boards. WHEN it works (say 90% of the time) it is really convenient so that I can follow through on the appropriate conventions like bolding, dice rolling and what not without fighting my phone. It occasionally has hiccups. In this case I think the paizo boards' warning relating to how I was about to make this profile permanent after 10 posts probably messed it up. Not available in your country? Must be US only and you are not in the states then? I forgot to mention this but I am in WA state, Western US which puts me GMT -8 I believe so depending on where other folks are I might be posting at strange times ;p

Jym Withawye |

I think we're all in the states. I see the same message Kirth does.
"Wow, that's pretty useful! How did you figure that out?"
Does Elebrin know the trigger for it, or is that a separate check?

Elebrin Thel |

Weird cuz I'm stateside... But I'm an Android user clicking on the link on a computer that has me logged into Google so maybe that's it? As for Elebrin knowing the activation, she probably wouldn't think to say unless asked...shes progressive but still a bit haughty on the magic front....assumes sometime that people wouldn't know or care about such things...

"Wow, that's pretty useful! How did you figure that out?"
"And how do we make it work?"

Elebrin Thel |

Elebrin considers the halfling for a moment and offers a polite smile, My mother was the testing sort. Constantly gave me things like this to probe my skills. I'm not sure I am all that good but well enough this time I suppose. The elf holds the wand back out unconsciously presenting it to the half-orc.
Where did you find it may I ask? Oh and may I sit?

Jym Withawye |

"Yes, sit!" Jym indicates the chair Gwlybwr just vacated. "Mind the scaly leavings.
"So graceful!" Jym says as Elebrin sits, making things awkward.
"Well, not that I suspect we're being spied on, but I can't tell you in case somebody hears what I say and then retroactively decides that what I'm saying is spy-worthy. So, let's just say that this wand used to belong to someone who doesn't want it any longer because they ran afoul of someone else whom is the brother of someone who has employed us to find said brother who used to be friends with the owner of this wand but isn't the owner any longer due to the same circumstances that predicated a falling out between the previous owner and our employer's brother, who, coincidentally, also had a falling out with this brother for circumstances different from, but thematically in line with, the incident that indirectly led to us becoming the owners of this wand. Aaaaalso... I guessssss... we need to confront this brother so that he'll stop causing incidents and so that we can get paid more money."

Elebrin Thel |

Levelle sits with a polite nod and then begins to have her eyes grow wider and wider as the bard details the web of intrigue the companions seem to be caught up in. At the end Levelle presses her fingers together thoughtfully,"That sounds...er...complex? What would you need someone like me for? Just to elp protect you in the effort to 'get more money'?"

"Oh, I'm sure you'll find a way to make yourself useful. Is it a deal, then? Uro, shake her hand, you lummox! We're making a deal!"

Uro Taraka |

The big orc rolls his eyes at Jym and extends a hand to the elf. "Welcome aboard Elebrin. We should probably introduce you to Gwl. He is um, kind of scary looking. That's why he took off."
Uro downs the rest of his beer in a single gulp and motions for his friends to head up to their room.

Jym Withawye |

We'll be heading the well that Gwl found, Kirth. What time of day is it? Do you need anything else from us?

Kirth Gersen |

What time do you want it to be? Since you're on the offensive now, you have the luxury of specifying when you want to go there -- if the timing is off, you can just rest half a day or whatever. I also wonder as to whether anyone wants to stock up on basic adventurers' supplies first (Korynne's not around to cast light any more, for example), and whether you're letting anyone know where you're going (for example, your employer). Oh, and yeah, I'll also kind of need to know what you're doing when you get there!

Elebrin Thel |

Elebrin takes the half-orc's hand awkwardly but offers what seems to be a genuine if not still slightly perplexed smile, Ah thank you! Gwl is scary? But if he moves about in public then he must not be too scary yes? The elf offers a naive smile as she stands to follow the others....
I can cast light...but am carrying precious little else in true supplies. For now Elebrin is an academic on her first real adventure. She has the book smarts and weapon training but hasn't experienced "adventure" so it super naive...so she will probably do and grab whatever she is told to.

Actually, Jym will speak out in favor of not letting Lady V know where we're going. But yes, shopping is good. I vote we do that, and then head to the well around 10pm.
Do we want Jym to stakeout the guild hall during the day?
Also, PirateDevon, do you know what's going on, or do you need a non-Jym summary?

Elebrin Thel |

I would love a brief synopsis. I started to read the thread but my week has been really busy so it's slow going.

I would love a brief synopsis. I started to read the thread but my week has been really busy so it's slow going.
Jym, Uro, and a couple other guys who were eventually replaced with Gwl and Korynne (Korynne is who Elebrin is replacing) were hired by Lady Vanderboren to retrieve a signet ring that was a key to her recently deceased parents' secure vault. Entering the vault, they defeated a trap set for intruders, but Korynne was injured and needed healing to regain consciousness. So, they left, got healing, and came back, only to find that Lady V's brother, Vanthus, had taken the opportunity of the first trap being bypassed to come in and clear the vault of valuables, including Lady V's inheritance.
In searching for Vanthus, we were lured into a dungeon filled with zombies, where we're hoping that Vanthus thinks we died. A man named Penkus was also lured into the dungeon by Vanthus, and we found his body. We know that Vanthus and Penkus are/were associated with a crime ring called the Lotus Society. Gwl found a secret entrance to their hideout (down the well that I mentioned, earlier), so we're going there to confront himm.

For shopping, at the table in a home game I'd normally play it out, and invent voices and personalities for the shopkeepers, and so on, but in the interest of keeping the PBP moving, please just tell me what you buy and deduct the correct amount of gold and/or mojo.

Jym Withawye |

Maintaining equipment/shopping is my least favorite part of the game. Sorry for the delay. Will try to get my sheet updated this afternoon.

Gwlybwr |

Gwl leads the group to the well in Dead Dog Alley.
"This is the place. The thug tried to escape down this well. The other one confirmed that there is a chamber beneath that can be flooded. Apparently the Lotus Dragons are small enough that they all know each other, so the sentry will flood anyone he doesn't recognize. I'm thinking I go down there and overpower him. If the chamber floods, it won't bother me."

Jym Withawye |

"I imagine that there's some sort of door or cage that will prevent someone being drowned from just swimming back up. See if you can identify it before you get to where the sentry can see you and let us know. There may be more than just flooding to contend with."

Kirth Gersen |

At the bottom of the well is a circular cave that mostly consists of a pool of brackish water, its surface greasy with filth and rotting seaweed. Dripping lead pipes protrude from the walls, making the 20-ft. climb down into the cave that much easier. To the west and south is a five-foot-wide "beach" of gravel. A narrow tunnel leads up and out of sight to the west.
Within the cave, the pool of water is 10 feet deep, providing ample concealment for one able to hold his breath -- once you reach it.
Stealth check to avoid notice, please.

Elebrin Thel |

Elebrin follows the description of the circumstances with a nod and somewhat wide eyes. When Jym mentions determining a way for them to not drown the elf gasps slightly and nods again, Yes good point Jym. Lets not drown! Elebrin offers this comment with serious earnest conviction.
Watching Gwl descend the elf excited considers the situation, It all feels much different than imagining this is how you would spend your time. She offers this observation to no one in particular.

Kirth Gersen |

They're not on high alert anymore, so any sentries would get only passive checks. And those are not nearly good enough to match Gwyl's stealth in this case. He's puzzled, though, at the absence of obvious observation ports. There is one thick pipe that, barring some complicated series of mirrors and lights, looks to be useless to actually see anything through -- he's instead assuming it connects to a valve which, when opened, pours in water from the bay. In the south wall are a few narrow slits that look as if someone could shoot arrows through them, but no one seems to be watching through them just now.
DC 17 Intuition save, please!

Jym Withawye |

It all feels much different than imagining this is how you would spend your time. She offers this observation to no one in particular.
"The food is better in my imagination," Jym murmurs while staring into the gloom of the well. "That way, I get to be pleasantly surprised!"

Gwlybwr |

After several minutes of silent surveillance, Gwl ascends and reports on his observations.
"There's a pool with a small beach, and a tunnel. The climb down isn't that bad, and the pool is deep enough to catch you if you fall. There's a big pipe that could probably flood the chamber, but I saw nothing that would trap us down there. Someone put arrow slits in the chamber wall, but no one was watching through them. Not that I saw, anyway. Slits seem pretty dumb if you're going to be flooding the chamber, so maybe their defenses aren't as good as they think. I'm going to go back and explore the tunnel a bit more, but it is probably safe for you to start making your way down."

Jym Withawye |

As the moment tick by the elf occasionally glance down where Gwl left, How long do you let him go for before...you worry?
"Usually we give him several minutes of silent surveillance."

"Hmm. Maybe the flooding is just an urban legend to scare people away? Flooding a well is one thing, but flooding an entire tunnel system is harder to do without getting noticed. Anyway, wait a moment, Gwlybwr."
Jym casts message on Gwl.
"Off you go! Uro, I think I saw some rope in the adventurer's sack that I put in your backpack. Maybe you could use it to fashion a net, climb down there, fasten it, and then Elebrin and I could jump down!"

Jym Withawye |

"Well, you're the expert!"
Jym descends into the well.

Jym Withawye |

I haven't been direactly affected, fortunately. Work and schools were closed on Monday, and the schools were still closed on Tuesday (which meant I couldn't go into work for some of that), but otherwise, it's business as usual for me, except for staring at scenes of other parts of Houston and considering how fortunate I am.

Kirth Gersen |

Meanwhile, Gwl heads down the tunnel.
The others hear a chain rattling, out of sight down the tunnel that Gwl is exploring.

Once Uro comes down, they party will head down the tunnel after Gwl. Jym will keep testing the line of effect of the message spell to make sure Gwl is still ok.

Kirth Gersen |

Uro stumbles a bit on the way down, but catches his balance and is fine.
The big pip creaks, then begins pouring water into the room -- either it's on a timer, or they do this periodically, or someone noticed your appearance after all...
Gwl:
Initiative, please!
