The Bot Behind the Screen |
The creature is nothing you've ever seen before, but you are noticing that it appears intelligent. It also seems very curious... not about your com unit or it's function, but you and how you are using it. It seems very interested in how you move about and what you're looking at. Slowing your actions down a bit, it creeps closer, watching intently.
1 success! You can all try to get it's attention and perhaps trust by showing it new interesting things about yourselves. Give me Culture, Life Science, or Mysticism checks.
Lucky Sevens |
Lucky plasters an extremely uncomfortable looking smile on her face Well... I am some sort of fantastical synthetic person!

Pangea starts greeting the critter in Common, Akitonian, Ysoki, Drow, Goblin, Eoxian and Aklo, while, at the same time, turning his Subdermal Graft on and off - the one that shows the symbol of the Startfinder Society in its palm.
The Bot Behind the Screen |
The creature appears to understand none of the languages, however a few of the more spiritual greetings seem to intrigue him. While he does not understand the verbiage, the sort of reference in Pangea's tone as he hits a few religious greetings intrigues the creature and it attempts to mimic one of them.
"Ah code gree too?"
Another success!
It seems a bit hesitant, and seems to be trying to decide if it trusts you. Keep at it!
Kai Starchaser |
Kai tries to imitate some of its mannerisms, adding "We are called Starfinders."
culture: 10 + 10 = 20
Lucky Sevens |
Lucky fishes out her com, Hey Fitch, we found the source of the power outages. Just something pushing buttons. Doesn't seem to speak common, but it sure likes buttons!
Domaya |
It seems quite friendly Domaya comments. And apparently two of your children have been playing with it for quite a while. I think it would be perfectly happy in a controlled environment as long as it was provided stimulation. Why we might even have met a new species! Domaya is positively beaming. This is what the Starfinder Society should be about as far as she's concerned.
Life Science more about creature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
The Bot Behind the Screen |
Fitch answers on the com, and upon hearing of the discovery of the creature he simply says "Hold your position."
In a surprisingly short span of time, you hear Fitch and a few others approach in person. He looks down at the creature and nearly panics. "Someone! Get the linguists! And someone who can communicate with it! Proper first contact protocols must be followed..."
Two of his compatriots run off to go back above deck, and he looks at the assembled party, along with the kids. "Well done! Good thing you didn't just blast the little guy. Definitely not a local lifeform, I'll have my crew get to work on studying it's language immediately! For now, I think I have a few mystics on retainer who can share languages through the old ways, hopefully we can learn something. In the meanwhile, if the deck is secured I'll send the technicians in to repair the damage. Well done! You'll make great Starfinders, the lot of you!" He hands you a credstick with 400 credits on it, then quickly begins barking out orders, both over the com and to his technicians to get back to work.
With that, all of your jobs are complete, and you have only to report to Guidance.
The Bot Behind the Screen |
Shortly after Fitch leaves you receive a message from Guidance, requesting your return to the Lorespire Complex. After a shuttle ride and a short walk, you find yourself back in the same room from which you started this adventure. Guidance presents itself in holographic form once again, however this time with the appearance of a wizened male korasha lashunta.
"I have received word from Historia-7, Fitch, Zigvigix, and Radaszam of your work. Congratulations on your successful missions. In the aftermath of the Scoured Stars incident, the Society needs skilled agents more than ever, and I see potential in you as you begin your new careers as Starfinder field agents. Congratulations on your commencement, and welcome to the society."
Kai Starchaser |
Kai grins widely. "Thanks! I'm so excited to be here!"
