"Most impressive, my kinsman." Master Filament says to Flint in admiration, upon spying the soldiers skillfully placed shot.
The solarian closes his eyes and activates the fire controls on the Starfinder ship-- feeling for the pull of the cosmos, imagining the mass of the coil gun projectiles pulling the photons of the light laser cannon toward it and the hole that it has made in the undead vessel.
Believing he has pinpointed a weakness in the enemy vessel, he fires the light laser cannon.
Gunnery, (light laser cannon): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 Damage (light laser): 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6

ENGINEERING
Aboard both ships, the engineers work hard to patch their glitching systems. The Threnody's engineer manages to get the computer systems on line just in time, while Kaiole helps restore some of the comforts of things like breathable air and gravity back to the Loreseeker.
HELM
The Endless Threnody's captain screams at the science officer, who has been completely infecting to this point, to get him to stop focusing on scanning for the Starfinder's stats and just focus on bringing the ship down. The science officer takes the command well and directs the ship's gunners to allow the targeting systems to take over. They're going for your guns. Meanwhile, the undead pilot repeats its earlier maneuver and flies a short distance away from you, but rotates around to bring you in line with its main gun!
[b]Pilot, please make your move. I'll then apply the excellent shots taken by our gunners!

@Dusty - you already rolled your computers check for this round. I'll apply your roll to next round, though.
HELM
While the Endless Threnody has some success in accomplishing its defensive maneuver and gaining a good lock on the Loreseeker's guns, the pilot of the Starfinder ship has excellent skills of his own. Tchisk manages to fly the ship right over the head of the undead vessel, giving his gunners a great strafing shot at the undead's vessel. Unfortunately, Dusty is unable to get a lock on the engines of the bone-and-metal ship.
Gunnery
Once again, the gunners of the Endless Threnody are vexed by the superior maneuverability of the Starfinders. Despite the lock they have on the ship's weapons systems, they do not have the weapons available to fire effectively on them.
The Starfinders, however, have a perfect shot on the Threnody as they fly right over it. With extreme accuracy, the two ysoki gunners land perfect shots on the Corpse Fleet freighter and cause some serious damage to its engines.

You guys are getting a bit ahead of me. Sorry for the delays on my part, but please give me some time and post your round phase's action only after I prompt it. Otherwise, i have to double back around to figure out which post applies in which round and it slows me down that much worse.
For this round, I need rolls from the Engineer and the Pilot initiative roll.
For the Helm phase, I already have a computers check from Dusty for this round. I will let the Pilot know when I need the actual piloting check for any stunts he wants to attempt.
I now have Gunnery rolls for this round as well, so please don't roll those again until prompted.
Kaiole
|
With damage under control, Kaiole decides to try topping off the shields.
Engineering, Divert to Shields DC13: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Successfully diverting power to shields, Kaiole directs 3 shield points to be added to the forward arc.
| GM Mjolbeard |
Engineering
The undead engineer of the Endless Threnody quickly sets to work patching the malfunctioning engines, with the "encouragement" of the ship's captain. Despite the severe damage inflicted by the Starfinders, the engineer manages to reduce the overall effect you had, and gets things a bit more under control.
Meanwhile, Kaiole finds his job a bit easier as his own ship is in good condition. He takes advantage of the situation to restore the shields to full power!
The Divert action allocates the shields points evenly to all 4 quadrants of the shield, up to their maximum, with any excess going to the forward shields. As it stood, the forward arc was at full, while the other 3 were at 9 each. That means the power restores the 3 shields that weren't at full back to full, with the rest getting lost. But hey, now you have full shields!
Helm
With his ship's engines still not performing at peak capacity, the pilot of the Endless Threnody is hard pressed to maneuver his ship effectively. He knows, however, that he has to begin avoiding more of the attacks coming from the more nimble Starfinder vessel, so he attempts some evasive moves. As he tries a particularly crafty maneuver, however, the starboard thruster sputters, causing his maneuver to fail. Meanwhile, his science officer once again gains a target lock on the Loreseeker's engines.
Aboard the Loreseeker, Dusty returns the favor and locks onto the undead ship's engines. Now he just needs his pilot to get the ship into position so the gunners can open fire!

This part of the divert to shields action was FAQ'd, allowing the engineer could allocate the restored shield points to any shield quadrant - along with an example in the next question. FAQ link (Of course the engineer doesn't have the ability to shift existing shield points as that action remains with the science officer)

@Tchisk, are you attempting any pilot stunts with your piloting roll? If not, you don't have to roll. Please do move the starship on the map to where you'd like it to be, though.
@Kaiole, thanks for the link! I hadn't seen that FAQ before. Okay then the shields on your ship are as follows: Shields 40 (F:13, A:9, P:9, S:9). Is that what you were looking for? Let me know if not.

No problem. I know these starship combats can get kinda screwy when it comes to keeping track of who goes when, especially on PbP.

Tchisk flies the Loreseeker right down the undead ship’s throat and gives his gunners another incredible opening. Seeing this coming, Dusty locks the guns onto the engines.
Gunnery
The undead still can’t take any shots at the Starfinders, but they certainly can fire on the Threnody as they skirt right along the vessel’s belly. Kaiole’s shot is just a fraction off target, but Flint manages to land another devastating shot.
