Seeing a Sense Motive and an Aid for Ykris, so I'll hop in on that dogpile. Digging myself into a hole sounds like a blast! Gonna take a guess and say biotech dude likes Life Science, Medicine, and Engineering? Definitely at least Life Science... I'll try that one.

After his lengthy discussion with the android, Zagothrax goes meandering about trying to find a decent(*1) drink. His old favorite, Dreng's Blue Ribbon isn't anywhere to be found, so he goes off looking for his compatriots from the Veskarium. Running into Schlak he hops into their discussion right on cue(*2).

"Hey Schlak... have you seen anyone out here with beer? I... uh... par-dohn me! Heya head...bug...ling? You must be Ykris. Zargothrax McDonald! Pleased to meetcha!" He offers a hand to shake, but tries to decide if he's supposed to shake hands with the parasite or the host. Finally settling for the host he continues. "So you do biotech stuff! Awesome! My grandpappy lost 'is arm defending our old farm. Got retrofit with a cybernetic one... never quite had the same response so I tried to learn a bit mahself."

Grinds- quirks a bit at the mention of his role as an enforcer Is that how you see me? As little more than a suit of armor and a pair of legs? The society has need of Haan like me, Haan who remember that life is what all of this is about. All of this push towards androids and AI, it is carapace and blood that moves the world. Real live thinking brains and muscle and...fur in your cassse. Without us, this whole society would be run by Historia-22 and sit around spitting out algorithmsss all day, don't you think? My circumstances are unfortunate, but I am where I needed to be. Perhaps the one-eyed hunter wanted it this way."

Rora makes her way over to Ykris and he responds in kind at Rora, giving her a bow in return before he starts to talk about the donations done to the First Seeker and the bond they have created with her. "I am glad you have heard from me, tell me, do you have any experience in the medical field?"

At the same time Schlak and Zargothrax come over and start to make small talk as well and with Zargothrax being the vocal one a look of dismay comes over Ykris[/bb] his face at the way Zargothrax is casually talking about bionetics and augementations.

Quig seems to make quite an impression on [b]Naiaj as they dive deeper into his theories and at times she wants to correct him but his show of knowledge catches her off guard at times and she claps in her hands a few times in amusement and joy.

He-who-grinds-blades-to-dust gets into a heated debate with Royo but the moment it seems to take a more intimidating turn the ysoki taps with his staff on the ground and shakes his head. "You have taken me in the wrong way and I take offence to that..." the eyes of the ysoki narrow as he turns around and a sigh can be heard as he mutters under his breath "young species, not understanding how social activities work..."

When do we know that we have done enough? How many rounds of action do we have in total? ;-)

"Riiight... Well, as I was saying, Ykris, I'm afraid I'm no expert in medicine. I've a bit of knowledge, but only so much as a Starfinder picks up along the way. I'm more of a traveller and diplomat, myself. Exploring new worlds, ancient ruins, first contact with unknown races, that sort of thing! The beating heart of the Starfinders! I've also got my ears to the ground for all kind of information." she winks. "Why, did you know that just the other day Venture-Captain Arvin sent me on a mission to track down..."

Verus stares in bewilderment at the onslaught of Starfinders around Ykris. Seeing that the others seem to have the situation in hand, he decides to keep an eye on the gala in general. He does his best to walk casually around the place.

Rora seems to make good conversation with Ykris but doesn't seem to make a dent in the half elf his demeanor and it seems like she didn't make any progress in regards of his persuasion. He was very interested in the gossip and a glimmer in his eyes could have been seen.

Verus wanders around and seems to make some small talk with a nearby vesk and have a drink with him.

Grinds huffs and steps back his rhetoric some I apologize. My profession as a game warden and soldier for hire has left me a bit sensitive when someone implies that behind this exterior does not lie a thinking and feeling being. You know how it can be. For my part, I do think that game preservation is an integral part of our Pact worlds eco-system. What do you and your friends think about perhaps helping to direct the Society in some directions that would aid in those causes?

Schlak sees rora settling in with ykris. He slowly excuses himself and glances around the room. He watches the guests and scans carefully for someone to talk with. He spots Zo! Thinking an undead media mogul would be fun, and slowly makes his way.

Hey I heard your Zo! I'm known as Schlak. A lizard with a tongue a song in my heart and would love to tell you the exciting stories from the starfinder society. I've met many different folks and seen many different planets. You may even say they might make a good idea for a show. He then proceed to tell him exciting stories from different adventures in the society.

more like zo! Is the next victim. He's had desk jobs in half a dozen places making him the laziest vesk in the land.

Seeing his anecdotes being unappreciated he wanders off looking for other friends. "Hey! He-who-...has an axe to grind? Who's yer friend? Gonna interduce me? That's a sweet staff ya got there!"

He listens to their conversation a bit and grins.

"Ah-yup. The old ways'r good ways. Fancy lasers and jetpacks are neat an all, but when yer in the middle of the desert an outta batt'ries then what? Mah grandpappy owned a farm ya know. Taught me lots bout makin food from the land. Best way to feed an army! Nearly died protecting that farm too... Ah still remember his warcry.... EEEIIIEEEIIIOOOO!!!"

Zargothrax Guffaws and continues. "Mah pops carried on the tardishun... Found ways to feed the troops usin nuthin but the pink slime scraped off of the butcherin room floor. Them meals sure made folks happy... real meat on the front lines... better 'n those pills I always say!"

Quig and Naiaj end up in the most animated chat ever, soon enough they attract a crowd of people and ohh's and ahh's can be heard as they seemingly were created new mini androids with their techno babble and their datapads were showing the creations. It was quite a show the 2 of them were giving off.

He-who-grinds-blades-to-dust continued his talk with Royo and seemed to persuade the ysoki to rethink his strategy at times as they continued their friendly banter and Royo could be heard laughing once in a while but also admitting that he was wrong in regards of the Haan species. Overall the conversation seems to garner good interest from Royo.

Rora and Ykris continue in their banter, with Ykris interrupting the female Ysoki on several occassions when a nice juicy rumor would come up indicating he had heard it already, much to the dismay of Rora for sure!

Schalk makes his way over to Zo! who listens to him as if it is needed, and without even trying to hide he stiffles a yawn a few times till he interrupts the Vesk. "How about showing me something more of your physical skills? you Vesk are all self proclaimed warriors and fighters, show me your pistol skills! Show me your acrobatics! and stop boring me with how you killed a spider with a pencil while fending off a secretary..."

Zargothrax approaches Royo and the Ysoki is broken from his animated discussion with the Haan by the bombastic actions and talk from the Vesk and he is clearly wondering how and why the Vesk showed up, bellowing on the top of his lungs as he explains what could be heard as a kids fantasy story.

Grinds transitions, from a discussion about ecology to a conversation about the challenges presented to knights, such as his Knight of Golarion, who wish to maintain use of older tactics and methods in the face of the mounting supremacy as AI and computer warfare. Where do you see the state of military weapons in, say 10 years friends ?

Verus overhears Schlak's conversation with Zo! and decides to "help" him out again.

"Vesk are the greatest soldiers in the known universe, friend! I don't think they would like me swinging a doshko around..."

He looks around and decides to try and impress the worthy with a show of strength!

Verus makes his way over and after the initial show of the Vesk standing there and looking all buff and intimidating it seems that Zo! is mildly interested in him right up to the moment that the Vesk decides to pick up a table and show off the muscles, Zo! is clearly loving it as he pulls out a camera and films it "Marvellous! you should be in my next Project! Baby! I can make you a STAR!!!"

The first Seeker then calls over the starfinders and gives each of you a nod to acknowledge your presence. "I see you are all making some good progress, Naiaj and Zo! seem to be the ones mostly ready to join our cause, the other 3 looks like they need some more persuasion, but I do have a feeling you can pull this off Starfinders!" Offering each of you a drink she continues to enquire a bit more before sending all of you off to continue mingeling.

Quig addresses the group "Ok team, I have to admit that the other guys are a little strange for my taste. So now that we have Naiaj in our pocket I would rather assist you in your interactions. So who needs me?"

@GM: I hope I understood you correctly that Naiaj is convinced. Otherwise, Quig would continue to impress her.

not for round 4, the interaction with the first seeker and then round 5 happens in between, so will use your roll for round 5

So.. Quiq's doing Naiaj's fourth, and someone should definitely do Zo!'s fourth. Can we use this as a chance to mention to each other what we thought the guests were interested in?

Zargothrax uses his Token Spell to levitate his wizard hat into the air. It slowly climbs up and up, then stops 5 ft above his head. He takes a few steps back, then rushes forward and leaps up into the air, snatching it out of the air and putting it back on his head before he hits the ground. As he lands he recasts his Token Spell causing his hat to emit a pale glow.

Rora wanders up to Iteration-177 and chats with them for a bit, trying to get a feel for the android.

He-who-grinds-blades-to-dust continues his discussion with Royo about military and weaponry, Royo indicates that at times chivalry should be involved, honor and the likes as well but seems dismayed at times about the viciousness of war and military. Overall He-who-grinds-blades-to-dust and become closer and it becomes clear Royo is more then willing to support the Society but needs a final push to be willing to commit.

Quig and Naiaj continue their display of skills and soon enough a new miniature android seems to be wandering around as the 2 are controlling it with sheer pleasure and joy, much to the amusement of the gnome who gives the Ysoki a hug out of sheer joy. "Thank you so much for showing me what can be done while working together! I will continue to assist the society with all I can!" Royo is done

Zargothrax does his little show and gets a bit of a look from Zo! who is not overly impressed but he can be seen to look at a video again, going over the moves from the Vesk before nodding briefly. "I have seen better, but I have also seen worse being done, however your skills do indicate that you could have what I need for a trip to Salvation's End!" Zo! is done

Rora makes her way over to Iteration-177 and he returned the smile. "Ahhh... Aurora Vim, it's a pleasure to meet you. I have to say I am enjoying the party, I do have to say the First Seeker is making a grande show about and I am pleased about it. Tell me, what is in store for the Society? what are the plans, goals, future endeavours, tell me!"

Grinds moves to finish his attempt to push the man. There are times when people like us need to put our stamp on things. With you help, honor and chivalry could become standard among society enforcers. More than that....but you could help direct our research direction. Would you really allow them" he says pointedly indicating Rora and Iteration-177 "to determine what the research foci of the society are? You and I both know that's not really the future.

He nods and moves away. He watches rora in action with Iteration-177. He listens in and decides to join in the conversation wanting to make a good impression. "Wow Rora you have been on so many amazing missions! Would you Iteration-177 like to know a bit more about what the starfinders are doing. I bet you do! As a second seeker I'm all about getting the info. as much as I can. Of course I don't know everything but I can share a few details and stories. I'm an important vesk here as you can see. He grins, and shares embellished stories about missions with the society with Rora and Iteration-177.

Rora, Schlak and Verus pile onto Iteration-177 and soon seem to engage him with banter about different missions, mercenary contracts and it is an animated chatter that catches soon ooohh's and aaahhs from several people and it becomes clear when Iteration-177 looks amused that he is persuaded to assist the Society with continuing the effort about research and exploration.

He-who-grinds-blades-to-dust continues his chatter with Royo who seems at times unconvinced before nodding in agreement with the Haan again as they keep up their animated discussions. Some gnomes and Halflings join in as well and raise a few points here and there before Royo gives the Haan a firm handshake "You have me convinced my friend, we will continue to support the society and their efforts! It has been a pleasure to work discuss the finer points of our discussions and altough we started off rough, you turned it around nicely, well done! I hope to see you again soon in the future!"

Only Ykris remains

Alright, we need culture, medicine or life sciences to influence Ykris. I have a +4 life science and +5 culture. Does anyone have better? I can lead a roll, or aid someone else on one of those two.

I have +6 life science. Schlack is tied with you with +4 culture. We appear to be medically challenged. Given that we need 2 more successes here, if Rora or Schlack aids the other on Culture, and I make my own Life Science check we've got a shot. Verus and Quig can attempt a DC10 aid, one on each group I suppose.

"..Ykris...ling, I heard ya convinced yer comp'nee to invest in the Starfinders. Gotta say, good call bein in the biotech field 'n all." He looks about and begins to add quietly.

"Lotsa Starfinders are pretty quick to add just about anything to their bodies ta make em juss a bit faster or stronger. I'm sure you could not only get a lotta return business, but even some folk willing to try new products that haven't been fully tested. Just the other day I was lookin over a field report 'bout some guys who were 'xposed ta some nasty.."

He chats for a bit about gene splicing and the physiology of both the creature in question and several similar creatures before offering some unsolicited advice.

"Mebbe you could use em to clear out dead tissue in an nasty wound? Hmm? Betcha some Starfinders would let'cha try that out on them."

"Oh yes, Zargothrax. Ehhemm ... yes ... very true indeed ... oh how interesting life science can be! Especially testing! Oh ... yes ..."

I bring a big ol -1 to this party so Verus will sit this round out. But he is channeling you moral support! Go Team Starfinder!

Schlak sees how others are listening to Rora. He follows her slowly. He hears her talking about the big announcement. "I heard about a big announcement as well. I hope it will be exciting. We get to be the first to find out. " schlak continues to speculate aloud what it might be about.

Tell me do you really think that Starfinders like us need these sorts of unnatural additions to our bodies. A haan with artifical parts sounds to me to be completely unnatural. I very much doubt your toys can make me a better Haan than I currently am

With the combined efforts of all the starfinders and piling up on Ykris who seems to be taken aback for a moment about all the attention but soon after that continues in an animated discussion, pointing out to He-who-grinds-blades-to-dust about the benefits of bionics and the likes and after long discussions they both come to an agreement and same goes for zargothrax who gives away some information about creatures and soon there after the symbiote declares his allegiance for the Society.

During the course of the event Radaszam motions to the starfinders to join him in one of the service corridors. The burly vesk doesn’t mince words. “We’ve got a situation on our hands. I’ve been following rumors of a somewhat notorious assassin who only recently showed up on Absalom Station. I just heard from one of my contacts that signs point to the First Seeker as the assassin’s next target—and if that’s the case, the assassin will almost certainly make a move tonight. Now here’s the thing. I’ve got enough security here that no one’s really in any danger; and besides, Luwazi’s no stranger to a fight. But it’d look really bad for the Society if someone took at shot at her in front of all these high-ups, you know what I mean? On the other hand, if a team of crack Starfinders were to investigate the rumors and unmask the assassin, we’d be able to show that we can still hold our own and add some, oh, let’s say, gravitas to the First Seeker’s announcement tonight. Defeat this assassin in style, impress the investors, make yourselves look good in the process... What do you say?”

"Now this is a mission for us! Stealth and espionage! Yes, yes, yes! So who is the source? And where is the assassin? Who is the assassin? Anything else you know?" Quig says excitedly.

Grinds finally perks up. Now this is more my style

Grinds gathers his equipment. This seems like....an insane plan Radaszam. Why do we risk the Seeker's safety like that. If this backfires the Society will have had two First Seekers die in a single calendar year. That looks incredibly immature

Rora smiles, and places her hands on her hips. "No need to worry, Grinds. I'm here. You're here. That assassin doesn't stand a chance!"

"Now about that assassin..."

Seconding Quig's questions. Haha. What do we know about the source and the assassin?

Zargothrax strikes a pose with his robe and hat.

"I'm a master of style!"

"we should be able to do this if we all work together. At least most of us." he glares at zargothrax then laughs.
"I know this could be dangerous but with all of our allies and support we can do it. We just need to get a good game plan." The vesk contemplates ideas and then begins to wish for a nap.
