Super fun.
My only request is that you aggressively NPC folks, otherwise this encounter is going to take a week.

It may not matter, but Bugsby (gnomes) do have a +2 bonus vs illusion effects, making his roll 12 instead of 10. Here's hoping. :)

I already asked him after the last time not to GM NPC me during working hours again as I was clear in the beginning that I would mostly be available for evening posting.

So you'd rather the game grind to a halt if Lachna's turn comes up while you're at work?
Bugsby is correct, and awake. Sorry Sven :(
I knew she wouldn't be able to post at work, neither can Ankih really, and Bugsby may be in that boat with his new job. Once in the morning and then again a few times at night should hopefully keep the game moving OK anyway.

Soo..... How fast does water freeze in this cold? Would it be worth while to attempt a create water above there heads to try and freeze their wings, to ground them? not sure how that would go, but i can spam 8 gallons of water a round...
I mean I know they are probably immune to cold, but from the holding effects of being incased in ice, or the added weight and immobilizing of their wings... Just a theory. if no go , no worries...
While it is cold, it's not "freeze moving water" cold. You could get them wet, and in 10-15 minutes they will be annoyed, but you don't have a freeze ray ;)
Seems like the weekend, or this fight, has gotten everyone off track. I'll give the 4 people till tonight to post something. Also, I think I'm going to seriously adjust some of the future encounters so this kind of frustrating fight does not happen again. It's been bad for me thinking about how you guys could handle it, its probably been worse for you guys, especially Avora and Sven, who haven't really been able to do much besides soak damage/spells.
I'm trying! I keep having mental images of this burly dwarf chick shoving around in knee-deep snow, looking harried while she fumbles with a crossbow. It's like she's trying to be frustrated, angry, excited, and kind of spastic at the same time. Lol.

I hit for no damage. Not really better. ><

I think it's a good example of a new group trying to figure out how to fight together, or at all for some. Obviously I'd like things to move faster, but as for the battle itself, no complaints here!

Sorry to be slow over the weekend; I run PFS games at a local game shop, so it's sometimes difficult to get time to post, though I try to check each morning and evening.

I’m still around but I didn’t bother posting as Sven’s still out of it for a while. I told the DM this encounter would take a week. We’ll see how close to the mark we get. =P
These sorts of encounters are just awful for a low level party. It’s not terribly threatening – just frustrating and slow and definitely not a good way to set the tone for a campaign. Flying high AC enemies with DR should never be a thing at level 1.
Sorcerogue 3 | HP:22, AC: 13/13/11, F2 R5 W3, INIT: +8, Range: +5, Melee: +1, lXbow: 1d6, Perc +8 Stealth +11
Well we are learning to hate these enemies... so that aspect can be considered a success. :)
5 days, still bad but not a week! Also, since two of those days were weekends, not a horribly long fight.
Kalt is in an area with patchy signal and his phone, so his connection may be hit/miss for a bit.
Male Ulfen Brawlerdin 17 (hp 219/238) | F +29* R +19 W +24 | AC 37 T 18 FF 34 CMD 44*
No fair! You ended the encounter early just to foil my estimate. =P
What will Sven do without his foil-Ulfen?
Sven Bjornson wrote: No fair! You ended the encounter early just to foil my estimate. =P

Not really, but they can come back and finish off Avora just as Sven's blindness goes away if you want :p And I'm sure Sven can find something to interest himself with until Kalt can return.
Male Ulfen Brawlerdin 17 (hp 219/238) | F +29* R +19 W +24 | AC 37 T 18 FF 34 CMD 44*
Fair enough.
I guess he can occupy his time with tending to the wounded Avora.
Ugg, a CLW and 2 channels for 5 HP total. The dice do not like Sarenrae in this winter chill do they?

They seem to be giving Ankih the cold shoulder... baddum-chh!
Or maybe he was thrown off by the sun glare... * oh burn*
male Human Cleric of Sarenrae 3/Universalist 3/Mystic Thuerge 2 |
Frowning at the Ankih humor!!!
XD
Gotta say, Bugsby is my favorite character so far!
I got the team crap rolls. The rest of y'all are safe now. :p
Do you guys want to know about how I changed the encounters after you pass them or would it ruin the immersion?
Male Ulfen Brawlerdin 17 (hp 219/238) | F +29* R +19 W +24 | AC 37 T 18 FF 34 CMD 44*
Hmm. I'm leaning towards not knowing.

Not knowing, myself. But then, I'm all about immersion. :)

I agree with those above, I'd much rather not know.

Male Ulfen Brawlerdin 17 (hp 219/238) | F +29* R +19 W +24 | AC 37 T 18 FF 34 CMD 44*
Oh, that reminds me.
That trap that Sven saved against was for 3 damage. Don’t you normally round down? Was it not save for half?
I've always rounded up, but I believe you are correct in that everything rounds down. So Sven is at 9/20 istead of 8.
Male Ulfen Brawlerdin 17 (hp 219/238) | F +29* R +19 W +24 | AC 37 T 18 FF 34 CMD 44*
Thanks.
With the amount of damage Sven takes he's going to need every hit point.
*facepalm* Yea, that was effective.
Male Ulfen Brawlerdin 17 (hp 219/238) | F +29* R +19 W +24 | AC 37 T 18 FF 34 CMD 44*
It could be worse.
You could have taken 10 damage. =/

She's in red, not her more traditional green, but no less lovely. Here is Avora if she were a real person.

C'mon Kalt! Nothing against Avora but "The flowers bloom in her presence" refers to Argentea... gotta be pretty attractive. :)

lol One in the hand, eh? ;)
I had been hoping to make it through the day before you charged in. Oh well. The bandits had seen Sven and have readied actions for when someone opened the door. All hell will break loose and I'll need more time than I have at work to update everything.

Oh lord, I dunno what to do here. I'm having flashbacks to close-quarters tavern fighting.
