Thanks Karl :)
I've been playing pathfinder for a long time, and had a lot of familiars. I try not to double up.
I'm a huge fan of the Jhereg in Brust's worlds, and this is about as close to that as a 1st level wizard can come.
Karl's conversations seem to be coming across ok with Loupe, but I am cringing at why Karl says some of the things he does.
Possibly the orcish conversations are bad (I haven't checked them)- Loupe is a little too scared to tell Vishoon he only knows about three words of Orcish. Now everyone is talking in it Loupe is in a bit of a bind - the longer he holds off admitting he doesn't know orcish the worse it is, but he has to joke off anything anyone says till he can learn enough orcish to get by.

I don't have a lot of experience with pathfinder, but I've did the reading and had been in a couple of sessions, so if I am doing anything wrong please feel free to point it out, I'll be most grateful.
As for Karl's conversations, when you say "says some of the things he does" you mean the "punter of helpless, little creatures" part right? I hope that didn't come off too weird, I was just trying to have Karl react to the prejudgement he think he got from Sten, by mockingly confirming that judgement in a very exaggerated manner.

Yep sten lives in a very black and white kind of world. I love paladins for that. Having to walk the tightrope for fear of losing everything.

If that doesn't work to get red in we can always try the old hey what are you doing here friend haven't seen you since X gambit.

Red Storm |

RED!
You see the fire Red? Pretty fire!
Hopefully this is enough to deal red in :)
Plus with that damage roll it's good I'm not trying to burn something.
Yeah, I'm still just enjoying the festival (and waiting to see if I succeeded at catching one of those butterflies). I'm assuming there will be a plot hook eventually...

Loupe..your familiar looks fine to me..=}
as for the arc, its comming soon, I was just giving the players a chance to get to know each other and make thier way down to the Rusty dragon, where I assume Dairkal will want to make introductions to Ameiko, soon after that the action will start to get going..if your getting bored I can hurry things along a little bit.

I am fine either way.

I assume we are doing individual initiatives instead of block format based on the post. Has Goblin 2 gone yet, or are we waiting on him?

![]() |

Same. It's one of the big reasons I prefer block format to individual initiatives, makes the game go a lot faster. Yes, it can be said it makes things like imp. initiative weaker, but after the first round, initiative means very little.

![]() |

It's GM prerogative. Some GM's don't mind the slower combats, and thus there is nothing wrong, and everything is working as intended.
Other GM's prefer the faster option of block initiative, and have everyone post what they do, and just work it out on their own if the monster gets KO'd before someone's turn.

Loupe Ardoc |

What Zander said. Horses for courses. There's a bunch of optional rules around this.
One of the advantages of a "frequent post" game is less time waiting. This is usually the sticking point for the "must post at least once per day" - you're never waiting more than 24 hours.
Only been, what, 12 so far?
Anyway, g'night all.

GM BigBusMan |

Im all for Fast battles, if you guys don't mind, just post what you want to do and Ill run it in the order of posts instead of waiting for days for people to post, it will give an incentive to the others to me active if they want to participate in battle i think..if we spend too much time waiting, the active players get bored.

GM BigBusMan |

probably should wait till the start of the next round before posting what you will do for that round..if you've already done your thing in the current round, it could get confusing for me to try and keep track of all that..lol..for instance if its round one, I dont care what order you post in, but wait till I say "Round 2" before you post another action..if you want to make other posts like talking or whatever that's fine, but try to limit your attacks and such to once per round.unless you get an AOO

Dairkal |

I'm way down in the initiative order, so I was waiting. I wasn't sure how Bigbus handles combat, but I was going with the default of "you wait till its your turn to post".
I also I was out all last night at the local fireworks and just woke up, so yea, sorry for any delay.

I didn't actually move him on the map, because I thought the fight was over. Since you were the only one hurt out of the PC's, you were definately in range. I did a channel instead of a CLW since I didn't know if there were commoners hurt, and regardless, the soothing effect would probably calm any on the verge of panic.

Dairkal |

Alright guys, I'm off to work and am unsure if I'll be able to post should more combat arise.
GM, if you need to bot Dair, he'll always attempt to set up a flank for sneak attack. If that's not possible, he'll try for a dagger toss attack.

No worries on my end, I was just laughing about it, however given the limitted access you had at the con, it makes perfect sense.
