Whiteclaw bares her teeth and obliges.
Basic Melee: 1d20+19=33. Hits. 1d10+10=17 to R1.
The fomorian giant looks fleetingly bewildered as alliances change and shift, but takes them in his stride as part of the natural order of things.
Urging his new comrade on, he grants a charging attack on the gnoll. Hampered by the weight of the rune stone on his back, R2 misses completely and does nothing more than infuriate Whiteclaw. A fey expletive breaks from him as he swings his own greataxe at the warden btween them.
Evil Eye on R2. R2 charges and rolls a 2.
R1 greataxe (AC) v Whiteclaw. 1d20+18=28. Hits. 4d6+6=19

Whiteclaw nods appreciatively as Chary's blow both bloodies R1 and offers her some succour.
"Good work."
The rune stone pulses once more, sounding a note like a drum that gradually resolves itself into a heartbeat. With it comes a fierce longing for battle and a driving need to rage and shed blood for the honour and glory of the clan.
Rune Stone attack (Will). Burst 20. On hit, target must charge and make a basic melee attack against the nearest enemy as a free action. If no charge is possible then make a basic melee attack against the nearest enemy. If the target has no enemy within reach, they are dazed to the start of their next turn.

Rune Stone of Fury
Rev DM |
Tutavak swings a fist at Kia, missing.
Unarmed charge to T19.
1d20+15+1;1d4+7+2
Tutavak - the power states that you charge (or whatever) an enemy. You'll still miss, but I will put you adjacent to R1.
Tutavak and Kia hurtle across the clearing towards R1. Tutavak smashes at the fomorian with his fists, making little impact, but Kia adds to the growing collection of wounds.
High above, the rune stone continues to chant, calling for more attacks, more rage.
Arianwyn |
As ever, stubbornly his own man, Arianwyn can only watch as he comrades go crazy. He sighs and runs back to blast the last of the enemy formorians. Well... the last of their nominal enemies.
Move to S19. (Conc gained). Eldritch Blast vs R1.
1d20 + 13 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 13 + 3 = 171d10 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 152d8 ⇒ (1, 8) = 9
[ooc]No longer bloodied.
Rev DM |

Move (Retreat Technique prevents OAs from R1) to W18.
Tutavak spins his spear in an arc, cutting into the original enemy raver, simultaneously setting up a blocking move to cover his steps back.
Rev DM |
Tutavak pounces catlike, driving his spear up and under R1's rib cage before bounding back.
Ice pools beneath R2's feet as he slams his greataxe into Whiteclaw.

Kia Rubarka |
Kia delivers what she hopes will be the final blow for the raver.
Force of fellowship against R1 vs AC. 1d20+18+2=(10)+20=30. On hit 5d8+7+2=(2,6,4,5,7)+7+2=33 damage. As an affect, Kia can use one additional Inspiring word this encounter.
If that finished R1, then Kia will move to V12 and heal Whiteclaw for a surge+3d6+8=(6,5,2)+8=21HP, otherwise she will not move and heal Whiteclaw for a surge plus 19HP (i.e. 2 HP less)
Kia is out of inspiring words. But she can still heal others (just not herself anymore).
Rev DM |
Kia finishs R1 with an expert stab and moves to help Whiteclaw. The gnoll nods her thanks and waits for R2 to attack her, the feral glint in her eye growing ever stronger.
R2 remains focused on the warden, but has bigger things in mind as he attempts to bring Whiteclaw, Chary and Kia to their knees. His axe swings over their heads, threatening decapitation.

Soul Flare vs Raver Reflex, fire damage.
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 262d10 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 9) + 6 + 2 = 23
Effect: Soulfire on Whiteclaw. Dangit, forgot the other +2 again -- 25 if ithat hit.
Instead of lunging with his lance, Tutavak wreathes himself in flame and concentrates it on a jet out the tip of his weapon at the Raver and the gnoll.
Rev DM |
Tutavak's spear ignites, blasting the raver with fire and surrounding the Rune Stone with a sullen glow.
Shifting away, he makes a last ditch attempt to bring Kia to the grave and Tutavak to his knees.
"It's mine and with it I shall hold power here. Bow to your master!" he screams. As Kia crumples beneath the attack, his eye flares triumphantly.
"So will you all fall. All of you."

Chary sends some aid to Kia, walks to the Raver and pokes at it again, trying to add more aid to Kia. Digging deep inside, she attacks the raver one more time.

Chary bends all her will on the raver and with two deft strikes, brings it screaming to its knees. As the last blow goes home, she hits a vital spot and it falls, mad eyes wide with shock. As the fomorian crumples, the Rune Stone breaks free and falls to the ground once more.
The light fades from it slowly as Kia and Whiteclaw both catch their breath, greatly restored by Chary's actions.
OUT OF COMBAT. XP to follow as soon as I've worked it out. It will be many lots.
Kia Rubarka |
Kia wearliy gets up with a nod of thanks to Chary.
She is still bloodied, but OK
"I don't know about you, but I need a break. What are qwe going to do about the stone? DO you think we can take it somewhere without trying to kill each other?"
Levelling up, will inform once I have done so
40/95HP
Rev DM |
You may take powers, extra hp and surges as of now, but you won't be fully charged up and ready to rumble until you've taken an extended rest.
The camp seems quiet for the moment as the Rune Stone lies where it fell and the giant-sized tents loom over the clearing. It is impossible to tell where the ambush party has gone to.
What is the plan? You need to decide what you're doing with the Rune Stone and how you will transport it (if you're planning to do that). You also need to tell me if you're taking more than a short rest and if so, where you will be doing it. Note that the camp contains very big tents.
Kia Rubarka |
STR, INT and Fey Tactics - whenever Kia uses her Fay Step power, she can also teleport another ally within 5 squares the same distance
"Wasn't the plan to have the formorians back there look after them? We could either try to carry the stone back there or have one of them come and take it for us. We can be extremely angry that a supposed ally turned on us."
"And I need a long rest... soon..."
Arianwyn |
"That is exactly what I just said. I swear your understanding of Common is at fault. Was your language teacher deficient in some way?" Arianwyn asks in a genuine manner.
"Are you unwell in some way? You seem to require more and more recuperation after every skirmish."
;) Increased CHA and INT, retrained Paragon Defenses to Improved Defenses, took Improved Darkspiral Aura for my Lvl 14 feat (DSA now does 1d10 per point, rather than 1d6).
Rev DM |
Eye of the Primordial
It counts as an artifact. As its holder, it sees whatever you have seen. Once per day (standard action) you can consult the eye on a course of action or a future event. It functions similarly to a scroll of Consult Mystic Sages - i.e. you can ask it a question to uncover a clue, remember a bit of lore, or otherwise gain information about the world around you.
The eye grants you a single piece of information. That information will take the form of an image or series of images, depending on what you're looking for.
In addition, once per day as a minor action, you may call upon the eye to provide you with another viewpoint of the battlefield. You may use another creature (friend or foe) as the starting point of any attack. You make the attack at +4, but suffer a -2 penalty to all your subsequent attacks (se).
Tutavak |
Seemingly struck, the weary Kargzant straightens and digs in his pack for the eye that was his treasure from the Feywild. Looking into it, he ponders:
Draft question for the eye: "Is the Hill Clan leadership planning to betray us immediately on the return of this one stone?"
Rev, does this fit the format? Others, any refinements?
