GM Mort |

Nearest one is 20 ft away from you. You better thank Hirah.
No heightened awareness, and they'd get the jump on YOU.

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
"Thanks Hirah!" Einar moves forward down the path, beginning to rage, Causing his Cambion ancestry to become very prominent. "I hope you don't taste as bad as you look!" He then swipes at the plat with a claw.
Move: 15 ft Attack: claw, Rage, large (AC 22) Power attack
Claw attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16 for damage: 2d6 + 9 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 9 + 6 + (6) = 29

Hirah Cheran |

Slightly limited with the undergrowth limiting movement, Hirah summons a Woolly Rhinoceros in front of the nearest creature, and then backs off slightly.
Rino: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29
Damage: 3d8 + 16 ⇒ (4, 8, 8) + 16 = 36

GM Mort |

Stat block says 2d8+13, how are you getting 3d8? Powerful charge only works if you can charge.
Hirah's rhino manages to gore the plant, sending sticky geen sap oozing out.

GM Mort |

Cool. But next time please state template since I can't read your mind which template you're using.

Mr. Whiskers |

”Hey look some cracked pale green prisms and oddly enough this cat carcass is reasonably fresh. Has anyone eaten cat? I hear it’s good stirfried,”
"I never have, but a few of our scouts did on a dare from some Shoanti. A lynx, as I recall. The humans thought it hilarious. The scout said aurochs taste better."
Gesturing towards the body of the dead cat, he adds "You wouldn't want to eat that one though. It was used as a familiar and then possessed. Bad idea to eat something that infused with magic!"
The above section about eating magical creatures is his own belief, not something from the rules.
I didn't find anything in character that states Hirah wants to raise it. Did I miss something?
--- Now
Looking at Greta, he says "Seems just about everything out here is easier to get to flying. Would you like the spell?" Turning towards the plant, he says "I could cast it on any of you."
Delay, cast fly on any one person that requests it.

GM Mort |

Nope you didn't - but that won't take place for a while I should think. Unless Crummock takes raise dead as his level 5 spell known. And yes, I have given him a poke.

Mr. Whiskers |

Nope you didn't - but that won't take place for a while I should think. Unless Crummock takes raise dead as his level 5 spell known. And yes, I have given him a poke.
If Crummock is going for healing, Breath of Life is better. Get a mnemonic vestment and a scroll of Raise Dead if you want it otherwise. Restoration is a bit more important though.

GM Mort |

Going to delay Crummock. Waited long enough
One of the plants emits large pulsing flash of light, followed by the other plant shuffling forward to do the same. The gore mark on the plant made by the rhino begins to heal.

one of the plants? how many are they and do they look the same?
'They look blind, That will be an problem' Einar, now being close enough to bite, "We need to end this before we are all blind!"attacks with Maw and Claw.

GM Mort |

You can't see the map? It's slide 2 ROW Book 4! There are 2 of them! And they look the same!
Einar rips and claws into the plants, and finds that the flames from his attacks are particularly effective, cutting one of them down.
It'll be back up again due to fast healing next round unless it's finished off

Mr. Whiskers |

"I can't see! What is happening!" Mr. Whiskers cries out, blinking his eyes rapidly.
I assume Greta and everyone else turned down the offer of flight.

Hirah Cheran |

Hirah signals to the Rhino to finish the flower off.
Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32
Damage: 3d8 + 16 ⇒ (7, 7, 6) + 16 = 36

GM Mort |

The plant stops twitching, after Hirah's rhino pokes the living daylights sap out of it.
Eh, I'll just put Crummock on delay again. If he has any issue, well he's been told and he can step in any time he likes.
Greta moves up, just as the plant moves forward and emits another flash of bright light again.
Fort Rhino: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
Fort Hirah: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

Party up

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
As the first plant falls, Einar looks up at the second one just in enough time to have the bright light flash in his eyes, ”Blast I forgot about the light!” He draws he giant bane spear as he moves forward and thrusts it at the giant ? plant, striking only air.

Mr. Whiskers |

"I still can't see, but I hear combat. What is happening?"
Not knowing what else to do, he tries to slowly withdraw only to find his way blocked.

GM Mort |

The plant decides to om nom nom nom Einar, then slap him silly with its tentacles.

Hirah sends the Rhino in for a further attack.

GM BOT 101 |

All of Geist's attacks land on the plant and it hisses with pain. Einar
then shows the plant why tieflings do NOT taste good, dropping his longspear and biting and clawing blindly at the plant.

Crummock-i-Phail |

Healing, then investigate the building, once everyone can see again?
Crummock breathes a sigh of relief when his sight returns, before moving to heal Einar.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6.

GM Mort |

One of the moonflowers yields a breastplate, a heavy flail and a backpack and 235 gp.
Mr Whiskers identifies it as a +1 breastplate, a +1 heavy flail and a handy haversack.
Now I wonder where all this came from ;-)
Einar checks the door is not trapped then opens it, leading to a passageway. There is a strange humanoid in tattered robes within. He speaks to the party, "Hello there, would you be interested to see my master? He is interested in all inhabitants of this place."
Mr Whiskers knowledge planes: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (6) + 19 = 25
Hirah knowledge planes: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (6) + 20 = 26
Mr Whiskers and Hirah both recognize it as a denzien of leng, and they often travel to other planes freely in strange, black ships, constantly seeking new breeds of slaves or trading rubies for unusual services or magical treasures. At other times, their visits are much more violent, focusing on abducting victims for use as slaves or worse. It has fast healing 5, and Spell Resistance.
The actual entry for the fast healing is as follows:
A denizen of Leng maintains a connection to Leng at all times, and when away from Leng, it has fast healing 5. It loses this ability on Leng or in areas where planar connections do not function. If killed, a denizen’s body dissolves into nothingness in 1d4 rounds, leaving behind its equipment. A slain denizen reforms in Leng, similar to a slain summoned creature; it can only be permanently killed if its fast healing is negated.

GM Mort |

"The master sent me here, to look for other inhabitants of this place. Master is master. Those nasty plants out there nearly ate me up. " He replies.
"I would make it worth your while," Then he takes out a ruby. Mr Whiskers recognizes each ruby would be worth about 100 gp. "If you follow me to meet my master, I will reward you with each a gemstone."
Bluff: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (7) + 22 = 29
Hirah Sense motive: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (15) + 23 = 38
Crummock Sense motive: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
The party thinks he's telling the truth, except for Hirah, who thinks he has some ulterior motive in getting the party to see his master. And he also does NOT want to tell the party what his master is. The part about the reward is entirely true, though.
The ceilings in this building are about 25 feet high

Mr. Whiskers |

"Why does your master want to see us? What interest does he have in us?" Mr. Whiskers asks.
I do not like slavers, and it doesn't seem like a good idea to follow one.

GM Mort |

"Master is interested in all living things. Especially those who can speak. Are you sure you do not wish to come? It could be profitable." The denzien of Leng asks, holding out a ruby in his hand, while shaking it.

Mr. Whiskers |

"You are repeating yourself without answering the question. What is his interest in us?"

GM Mort |

"Oh well, it's one of THOSE days. Amcana bydd rhaid i ni wneud yn y ffordd galed." The denzien of leng sighs.
I guess we'll have to do it the hard way.
"Meistr, mae gennym swp newydd o gaethweision potensial yma!" He yells, then opens the door.
Master, we have a new batch of potential slaves here!
A creature with a pale, froglike appearance with clawed hands, no eyes, a wide mouth, and a snout ending in pink tentacles floats out of the door and hides behind the Denzien of Leng, while wiggling its pink tentacles at Einar.
Mr Whiskers Spellcraft: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
Mr Whiskers recognizes it as a charm monster spell.
Einar Will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Einar has a strong urge to defend the funny frog like creature from the party!
Mr Whiskers knowledge planes: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (11) + 19 = 30
Hirah Knowledge planes: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 20 = 32
Both Mr Whiskers and Hirah recognize it as a Moon beast.
It has SR, as well as the following SLAs:
Constant—air walk
At will—detect thoughts
3/day—charm monster , dispel magic, dominate person, shadow conjuration, shadow evocation, veil
1/day—confusion, major image, mirage arcana, plane shift
Also, its tentacles can rend:
A creature that takes rend damage from a moon-beast must succeed at a Will save or take 1d4 points of Wisdom drain. A moon-beast heals 5 points of damage for each point of Wisdom it drains in this manner. If it drains a victim to 0 Wisdom, the moon-beast gains the effects of a heal spell. The save DC is Constitution-based.
I didn't give +5 bonus for threatened because their actions would have caught you by surprise.
Party up

Mr. Whiskers |

"Einar is charmed by the Moonbeast!" Mr. Whiskers cries out just before casting haste on the group -- including Einar -- and moving to the side.

Crummock-i-Phail |

Crummock casts Divine Favor and Grace on Geist, and urges Geist to attack the frog-beast.
Geist activates Dragon Style, and pounces forward through the air, ending up directly above the Denizen.
Bite: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 = 36, for 1d8 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 3 = 19 damage.
Bite: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 = 38, for 1d8 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 3 = 19 damage.
Claw: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 = 22, for 1d6 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 3 = 15 damage.
Claw: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 = 27, for 1d6 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 3 = 17 damage.
Rake: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 = 39, for 1d6 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 3 = 17 damage.
Rake: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 14 + 2 + 1 + 3 = 37, for 1d6 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 9 + 3 = 16 damage.

GM Mort |

You marked your airwalk down, I suppose? Want me bot it as an auto cast all the time?
All attacks save for one of the claws hit, wounding the moonbeast. "Bad Kitty!" It scolds Geist, then turns to Einar, "Protect me from Kitty!"

Crummock-i-Phail |

Yes, Air Walk is one of my standard buffs for Geist, along with Magic Vestment. There is a tab on Crummock's page that lists his standard buffs. Obviously, it isn't running 24/7, but I will certainly keep it up whilst we are off dungeon delving.

GM Mort |

Ok, I need to know so that I can tell you when they will expire, and so you can tick more slots to refresh. Else I can't have a case of Hirah's buffs wearing out, and yours not.

GM Mort |

Also, Crummock -SR check for divine favour on Geist, thx. He has SR 13 now.
More about moon beasts:
Moon-beasts have no voice or eyes, yet they “see” more than most and can project their thoughts into the very minds of those they wish to communicate with. These monstrosities hail not from any physical moon, but rather from the shared satellite of all slumbering minds in the Dimension of Dream beyond the wall of sleep. Here, the moon-beasts raise stone cities on the oily shores of night-black seas found upon the dark side of the dreaming moon, from which they launch long, dark galleys crewed by not-quite-human slaves that sail through the void of space down to the seas of the Dimension of Dream to seek new slaves and stranger, more sinister wares.
Moon-beasts are slavers, first and foremost. They use their spell-like abilities to curb rebellion or to quickly gain minions, but much prefer using physical and mental regimens of torment and reconditioning to break the spirit of their captives. They often work with the denizens of Leng, a metaphysically nearby dimension of nightmare and madness, although as often as not these planar neighbors serve the moon-beasts merely as slaves.

GM Mort |

Charisma check Moonbeast: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Charisma check Einar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Yes Einar, bad kitty must be punished for attacking Master. You also think you could do a decent job of stir frying Geist. He be tasty!

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
earlier
’this thing tastes terrible.’ Einar rips and tears at the plant until it stops moving, hearing Mister Whiskers, he calls over. ”I can’t either, I hope it wears off and we don’t have to wait a couple of days again.”
Einar nods to Crummock as he heals the damage the plant did. ’Thank you, shall we continue with the house cleaning?” Opening the door, Einar watches the odd creature, letting the friendlier members talk to him while Einar stood there and scowled. Watching to see if anyone wanted to go speak to the things boss. ’This don’t feel right, of course what has?’
now
’Well he’s ugly.’ Watching the pale, froglike appearance with clawed hands, no eyes, a wide mouth, and a snout ending in pink tentacles floats out of the door and wiggling its pink tentacles at Einar, he shrugs, ’Well, ugly isn’t that bad.’ Shocked that the others would attack his new friend.
’why would they do that? Watching Geist run forward and attack squidface, hearing his new friend as for help from the kitty, ’I wonder what the cat tastes like? Maybe if I knock Geist out it would make him happy. Einar runs forward raging so he can reach the cat, drawing his morningstar, so as not overly hurt the kitty and swings it one handed at Geist trying to knock the cat out. "Leave my new friend alone!"
Move: 25 ft. Attack: Morningstar, rage, large non-lethal
attack: 1d20 + 18 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 18 - 4 = 30 for damage non-lethal: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (6, 3) + 8 = 17

GM Mort |

Geist is 15 ft in the air, so you'll need to enlarge and hammer, for melee attack.

Mr. Whiskers |

Hey! You could use non-lethal! Protecting one friend doesn't require you kill another! Bad Einar!

Hirah Cheran |

Yeah actually, going on delay now that I can view the map.
Not a whole lot I can do / summon with the way Einar is enlarged, and where the tiger is at the moment, there's just no space for me to summon anything, or step into combat myself. I'v tried to think of it from different angles, but I'd need to summon something celestial to break past DR, and if its celestial, then it needs to be grounded, and there isn't any space for that.

GM Mort |

The denzien of leng takes a step back then readies an action.
The weird frog creature steps backwards, wiggles its tentacles at Geist and he sinks to the ground. 15 ft in the air now
Dispel check - airwalk: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Mr Whiskers - I saw your update of spellcraft ranks. Since you autopass for lower level spells, I won't bother to roll spellcraft anymore, and just give you the result.
Party up

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
Geist is 15 ft in the air, so you'll need to enlarge and hammer, for melee attack.
The weird frog creature steps downwards and backwards, wiggles its tentacles at Geist and he sinks to the ground. 20 ft in the air now
he went down from 15 ft to 20 ft? I know you said your not good at math, but that's still odd..
does Einar have to keep attacking Geist if squid face doesn't ask?
