Here's the discussion board!
Please post here your timezone (and any other info you wish).
I'll start, I live in sunny southern California in Pacific Timezone (or GMT-8).
I like to get at least 1 meaningful post per day, with somewhat less on the weekends.
Kirridell Jinae |
Hi, thanks for selecting Kirridell...
I live in the distinctly less than sunny United Kingdom (GMT) - will also commit to at least one meaningful post per day (and possibly on weekends when able)...
Looking forward to playing this....especially as another PbP I was in just stopped dead in it's tracks.....

Also, please check the Gameplay tabs, and your specific spoiler. PM if there is a problem with your character setup and we can work something out together.
@Colberg I intentionally left yours vague and somewhat short as you'll basically be the only Johnny-come-lately in town. Also...I didn't want your character to have knowledge of some of the inhabitants/companions :)
Colberg |
Hello all,
Currently in Las Vegas, Nevada (UTC-8 as well)
I can easily get two posts a day for the weekdays, Saturdays are at least one, and Sundays are iffy, but I can get one though it might be short and simple.
Very excited to get my stubborn Dwarf in action, I'll have all the rest of him touched up tomorrow. (equipment and a better layout)
Sounds all good to me. Are we in the Silver Stoat now, or we haven't started yet?
Votun Raveneye |
Thanks for the selection!
Setup is fine by me.
During the weekday, I usually can post frequently between 9am to 4pm and 8pm to 10pm. During the weekend, I usually can only post at the very beginning of the day and at the end of the day. All times Eastern time zone... Montreal, Quebec.

New York. EST. Posting rate works for me. Making stat adjustments.
Done! -2 to Con and Cha

If the NPC is going to be around awhile and do a lot of speaking, my other PbPs create specific avatars for clarity.
Also mulled wine is a drink. Not to be casked.
Mulled wine is a beverage usually made with red wine along with various spices and raisins. It is served hot or warm and may be alcoholic or non-alcoholic.[1] It is a traditional drink during winter, especially around Christmas and Halloween.[2]
Port and claret are popular choices for mulled wine.
cheers
Pendin Fust |
That's why she said a cask of wine and not mulled wine. You can mull it yourself :)
I toyed with the idea of creating an avatar for her...but how long she is in the game completely depends on the group. This is just some RP goodness and info time right now.

Things should get really interesting the first time Votun casts a spell around Colberg.
Colberg |
Well Colberg has no prejudice against magic, and he is extremely biased towards females as witches. Votun can cast spells fine around him as he'll see it as a wizard or sorcerer, but if he sees a hex then things will get really interesting (assuming he is actually paying attention at the time).
Also rolling for my Hex Nails for the campaign trait. 1d4 ⇒ 1
Well that kind of sucks. >_>
Pendin Fust |
If I had a group of 8 that I was having a hard time deciding between...he would've had 2 witches to contend with :)
Pendin Fust |
Nothing is planned for his shop, so whenever you two feel you've had enough time...although I would think that your stocks were depleted and you need to get some more from the Wood :)
Kirridell Jinae |
I have updated Kirridell's Character Sheet to take account of equipment bought and loaned...
GM - As Colberg is going to hang on to the Longsword, Kirridell will keep his (rather than trade in) and so I have updated my Character Sheet to say he will trade his Explorer's Outfit for a Cold Weather kit (and put him on 0GP) - I think this is probably okay? Explorer's outfit is more expensive than Cold Weather gear plus he should have had 1GP left over from buying Snow Shoes
On a side note, I don't fancy the poor father's chances when he needs to wield that axe in anger (-4 to attack!!!) - I imagine fights against the Fey will involve the good reverend hiding behind someone firing off 'Channel Positive Energy' and praying that Sigrun and Colberg can use those swords effectively!!!!
Sigrun Jagrsdottir |
Tried moving it and it just stretched out. Gave up after that. I'm assuming others had trouble since it looked like nothing moved.
Pendin Fust |
Sorry Sigrun, it's a bit weird. When you click on your picture you'll notice that box around your picture appears. In the top left of that box is where you want to put your cursor until it turns into a little hand. That's when you can click and drag.
I'm going to mess around with future maps to try and figure out how to make it a little easier.
Votun Raveneye |
Can Votun make Knowledge (religion) check to identify them as zombies and their special defenses?
Usually this doesn't take an action and comes with initial perceptions.
Knowing that they have DR/slashing might change players actions.
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 I guess not, ;D
Pendin Fust |
LOL. Yes you can roll a Knowledge check at any time...it doesn't have to be in combat initiative.
And yeah...poor roll :(
Pendin Fust |
OK, I think what I'll do in cases of trying to search out causes for attacks, information, and perceptions, I will roll for you, assuming you search EVERYTHING in the area.
If it is going to be something clever, I will leave that up to you to RP out and roll.
This should allow speed of play AND still allow you to actually play your characters.
Pendin Fust |
So here's a question for everyone...how realistic do you want carry weights to be? Also, selling loot and such. I am fine hyper realistic rules enforcement or hand waving (to a degree). We do have a dwarf in the party...but whether or not you trust him to carry etc.
Just want to get a sense of everyone's expectations for what type of game we are playing.
Sigrun Jagrsdottir |
Loot so far:
pair of earrings worth 25gp
set of pearl inlaid bracelets worth 90gp
assorted gold and silver necklace worth a total of 75gp
sapphire necklace worth 50gp
signet ring
three courtier’s outfits worth a total of 90 gp.
masterwork breastplate
masterwork longsword
Sigrun Jagrsdottir |
Thanks Sigrun, any thoughts on my above questions?
I can carry quite a bit as well. Question is do we want a hardcore difficult to carry stuff, dropping everything when a fight starts trek through the snow? Sigrun carrying Votun's snowshoes is already leaning towards strength realism, how real do we want to get.
Pendin Fust |
Ok! I think we can make a compromise. I personally like encumbrance and dislike groups carrying a nations' size of wealth on their backs. I will hand wave small amounts..a couple pounds doesn't bother me. But, for example, if Jorgo is carrying a million potions or heavy arms and tries to flip over an opponent...there's going to be some rolls with a negative modifier.
In other words, don't go crazy and I won't :).
Pendin Fust |
Hey all, not sure what my availability is going to be today...I start a new job.
Will post when I get home if that is the best I can do.
Pendin Fust |
Thanks, still getting a handle on the culture so I may be reduced to posting at lunch and after work!
Kirridell Jinae |
Apologies if Kirridell is a 'straight down the line' Lawful Good character...playing him as 'still untarnished and uncompromising' (and frankly a Pain in the Proverbial...) - quite happy for you to RP arched eyebrows and veiled sarcasm at him...he won't even notice....
Of course...over the course of the adventure he may well become wise to the ways of the world!!!
Pendin Fust |
Thanks for being patient all, I will have an update later today for the farm!
