Jynnjun
Jynnjun picks up Jang's fallen weapon and steps back behind Kryptyk. "Nice piece. Where'd you get it?" she asks.
Without waiting for a reply she also casts a quick spell in the red bodyguards' direction, the ball of ice aimed at the same spot marked by Poxy's frosty shards.

Xakroo the Arrow Shooter
Xakroo shakes his head at Alaka and Harik. Amateurs, he teases, pulling out several arrows, Watch and learn. He then fires the arrows at their target. Zarvak sits back and watches.

going for a full attack with Manyshot and Rapid Shot...which I assume I can do. Also if I made any mistakes here, I apologize

Jynjunn's cold damage makes the bodyguard with the red hat fall over.
Xakroo's flurry of arrows brings down the leader. As she falls, you hear a heartbreaking feline yowl, and then a large cat rushes past all of you and runs down the stairs.

He shakes his head to focus on the battle at hand again, and steps into the room. He draws an arrow and wipes it across his slimy forehead, coating it in toxin. He shoots at the remaining hobogobo.

GM Redelia
Poxy's arrow sails past the remaining hobbogobbo. Kryptyk's starknife slashes at the hobbogobbo, and then goes over his head. Trinket's slash cuts into him.

Petrakh delays.
The hobbogobbo panics and rushes away and up the stairs, triggering a bunch of AoO's.
Trinket AoO: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15 nope
No AoO from Poxy, since he's using his bow.
Kryptic and Jynjunn each get an AoO, Jynjunn with the scimitar she picked up.
Kryptic: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29

Jynjunn: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

He falls over under their assault.
You investigate the room where the hobbogobbo emerged from, and find a neat bedroom, appearing to belong to a druid. It included a nest area for her cat companion.
Anything you guys do before moving up to the final floor?
Trinket Sparkleplume
Gloat!
A-HAHAHAHAHA!" Trinket laughs merrily. "Villains never win!"
Trinket looks around for any good 'hero's loot'...

...and then dashes back to the door.
"Onward!"
Poxy
Poxy is ready to head up. He'll stick near Xakroo and be ready to use Fire Brand to add flaming to Xakroo's flurry of arrows as soon as action breaks out.
Xakroo the Arrow Shooter
Xakroo nods at Poxy, with Zarvak on their heels. He takes a deep breath before walking to the final floor.
Petrahk Jadetalon

Petrahk was a little bit behind the party, but after kind of nudging Harik to catch up she gives the 'leader' room a quick glance for magical things Detect Magic, looking for presence of magic.
If there are no 'finds' then she'll move up to the party and hit the folks who wanted to be resistant to acid with Resist Energy: Acid.
If there are magical things in the room she'll stop the party and point the items out -- after all, if the leader was able to keep the dragon 'in-tow' there had to be SOMETHING in here to allow them to have that kind of power, right?

Alaka helps loot the area, and then goes with Harik up the stairs.
GM Redelia
This level of the tower resembles a marshy, mist-shrouded cavern. Water cascades down from a strange rock formation in the ceiling, feeding an enormous, murky pool banked by hefty blocks of stone. Mud and shallow pools—all thick with swamp grass, cattails, and ferns—completely conceal the stone floors. A large, ragged hole punches through the southern wall, curtained by a thick tangle of moss and hanging vines. A flooded staircase leads down, while a small niche is tucked against the northeast wall. The unmistakable sparkle of gold and silver twinkles from the fetid pool.
There are many piles of rubble scattered around which it would be possible to hide behind.
You look around carefully, but do not see any signs of the dragon.
There are also a few large lizards lounging around the room. They glare at you, but seem unlikely to do anything on their own.
Jynnjun
Jynnjun slips over to the hole in the wall and peers out briefly looking for the dragon. "Kind of a shame we're not just after the treasure. This would be so perfect!" she says when she gets back to the group.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Stealth: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (6) + 24 = 30
Kryptyk
Kryptyk takes advantage of the terrain. An ambush would be great if they could pull it off, though he'd known dragons were likely to have keen senses. Besides, being spread out would likely be to their advantage.
He covers himself with a blanket and waits.
Stealth: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (17) + 21 = 38 Add +2 for his camouflage blanket if this counts as swamp terrain
Poxy
"Strategic Poxy wonders if we should poke the lizards before the dragon shows up?"
If none of the lizards are in the way Poxy will sneak into some spreading out cover.

Trinket dashes into the room and begins an epic Hero Speech!
...Only to realize the dragon is not there.
"Hey!"
She approaches a lizard. "Are you a dragon?"
She pokes it.
"...Surrender villain!"
Petrahk Jadetalon
|
While not the *stealthiest* of dragonettes, Petrahk finds a wall section to hunker down behind and wait for the inevitable results of Trinket's efforts at activating the 'Summon Dragon lizard'.
Would if it only worked that easily...
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Xakroo the Arrow Shooter
Xakroo scolds Trinket, Leave those lizards be. And also, there's two things you'll need to do-shut up and hide. He'll hide behind some rubble on the southern part with Zarvak by his side.
Xakroo Stealth: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21 23 if they're in underground terrain
Zarvak Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28 30 if they're in underground terrain

Xakroo rolls his eyes and moves over to the lizards, hoping to try and calm them down.

"Yes! I love a good Heroic Ambush!" Trinket exclaims. She puts her hands on her hips and laughs. Then she cartwheels across the room and hides.

Alaka Zam

Alaka looks around and starts to hide with Poxy, but with the dragon gone and the inviting pool just sitting there, she decides she wants to go swimming instead. She makes her sleeves of many garments look like a nice swimming suit, stows most of her stuff behind Poxy, and then dives in.
She paddles around, enjoying the cool sliminess of the whole thing, and wonders if she has time to dive for some treasure before the dragon shows up. She watches the sky to check now and then, in case she needs to make a run for it.
Swim: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Perception: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (18) + 19 = 37
Trinket Sparkleplume
That looks like so much fun! But, alas! A Hero's life is sacrifice!
Besides, every trap needs bait...
Trinket's would wait until it arrives.
Xakroo the Arrow Shooter
Xakroo remembers on how badly of a disadvantage Zarvak is to a dragon; he puts his hand on her, giving her a faint magical bubble around her.
Giving Zarvak protection from energy (acid), which will last for 40 minutes or until she absorbs 48 points of acid damage
Petrahk Jadetalon
|
Petrahk will hit herself with Shield, as Mage Armor is still rolling from before with a duration in *hours*. She will then hit Trinket, Harik, Alaka, and Kryptyk with Resist Energy from the wand before reconsidering and also hitting Trinket and Harik with her OWN Resist Energy (all Acid) unless the wand is better.
Current Spells remaining:
L3: Fly used earlier, 3/4 remaining
L2: Acid Arrowx2, Resist Energy (Acid)x2, 2/6 remaining
L1: Mage Armor, Shield (x2), Magic Missile 3/7 remaining
Current Buffs in Place from Petrahk:
Entire Party: Resist Energy (Acid) ?? via Wand, Resist Energy (Acid) 20 via Petrahk's spells for Trinket and Harik
Petrahk has Mage Armor and Shield activated
Jynnjun
"Over here Petrahk" hisses Jynnjun. "I'm not a gold dragon you know!"
I definitely need acid resistance too. Mage armor is up, I've got nothing else which will last most of an hour (and will be useful vs. a dragon) if the black dragon's a while coming.
Alaka Zam
Alaka thinks she hears the dragon coming, so she slips out of the water and goes back to get her stuff, feeling refreshed.
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Trinket Sparkleplume
Trinket jumps out from hiding, exclaiming loudly, "BOO! AHAHAHAHAHA! HEROIC ENTRANCE!"
She waves her sword at the dragon. "I AM THE GREAT HERO TRINKET!"
And my Amazing Hiding Hero Friends I will not mention!
"SURRENDER VILLAIN! BEFORE I UNLEASH MY HEROIC FURY ON YOU!"
Trinket leaps out of hiding, waves her rapier around and boasts loudly! She'll also cast blur on herself if it's allowed.
How many minutes has it been? I assume my biting words has expired?
Poxy
Poxy will drink an extract (Targetted Bomb Admixture)
Bombs have no splash, but deal double Int damage instead of Int damage for 7 rounds.
Jynnjun
Jynnjun's fingers twitch in agitation as she watches for the first flash of fire rising out of the swamp.
Readying an action to cast a spell to mix with Alaka's via Elemental Commixture.
Alaka Zam
As Alaka finishes strapping her stuff on after her refreshing swim, she replies to the dragon:
Don't complain so much! I smell a lot better than Jang!
Then she casts Fireball. A bead of light flies up in the air about 25 feet (giving time for Jynnjun to trigger her readied action if desired), and then explodes, burning everything in a 20 foot radius in an instant.
Fireball Damage: 7d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 5, 3, 1, 5) = 21
Alaka centers it where the radius (yellow) is on the map, but also a little over 25 feet high, so that anything under about 5 and a half feet tall doesn't get touched. (Object is to get the dragon and nothing else.) DC 17 Reflex save for half.
Jynnjun
"There it goes" yelps Jynnjun. She quickly summons an aura of cold about herself and throws it into the rising fireball. A great cloud of steam erupts where the two spells meet.
Alaka's fireball becomes a steamball - nonlethal, untyped damage (no energy resistance/immunity applies), and the Reflex save DC increases to 18. Also the dragon gets to make a second save at Will DC 17 or be blinded for 1d4 rounds.
If the dragon has spell resistance Alaka gets +1 on the roll to beat it.
Xakroo the Arrow Shooter
Well, better make sure she doesn't die, Xakroo sighs to himself, pulling out a dragonbane arrow and aims at the dragon before unloading on the beast.
Longbow Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
Longbow Damage: 1d6 + 6 + 2d6 ⇒ (5) + 6 + (2, 1) = 14
Using only one dragonbane arrow, as I'm not sure if I can do a full attack now. Also using Deadly Aim, which is -2 attack and +4 damage. if I did the roll wrong let me know.
Petrahk Jadetalon

Clever. And here I thought she was just volunteering to be dragon-chow.
The dragonette lets forth an arcing sizzling arrow towards the larger draconic entity. Acid Arrow shifted to all Electrical damage, uses a L3 spell slot.
Electric Arrow (Ranged Touch): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Damage First Round: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
Damage Second Round: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
Damage Third Round: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5
Kryptyk
From his hiding position, Kryptyk tosses his starknife.
+1 Distance Starknife: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27 Damage: 1d3 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Is this a surprise round?
GM Redelia
It's kindof like a surprise round. When you guys do a really good job of setting up an ambush and the creature isn't ready for you, I sometimes give an 'ambush round' which is like a more substantial version of a surprise round, because you can take a complete set of actions. I don't always let it work like this, but I consider it a reward for an interesting idea of an ambush that I think is making the game more fun for everyone.
GM Redelia
Poxy drinks an extract to help his bombs.
Jynnjun and Alaka cooperate to steam the dragon.
Alaka, I need a check to overcome spell resistance. Please read what Jynjunn wrote about giving you a bonus on it.
Kryptyk and Xakroo beat on the dragon with more mundane means.
I also need a check to overcome spell resistance from you, Petrahk.
