Ok just slightly confused. There are Cold Iron items there you said but I need to trade to get one? :/ sorry
Muziel Moreau
Want to double-check: Is the spellscar fext humanoid or undead? Samuel had described them as undead previously, which is why Muziel stocked up on holy water and is itching to throw it.

I will be reviewing the posts to award the Hero Points for this chapter. I suggest you all do the same for MVP. When we return to the game I will get the group together with a short narrative of how you got to Martel and how Karrick finds you there so we can start out fresh and with one game play tab.

Ok for the last 30 minutes I have reviewed this chapter. I want to say before I award anyone anything, you have all been great. You have all proven to be very good at play by posts and roleplaying in general. As a GM I really appreciate you posting on time and keeping on track, and I know it has been difficult to keep up with some of the things I have tried to put into this campaign.
There were many good uses of a Hero Point in this chapter.
Best Use of Hero Point Goes to Muziel. Most of you probably did not see it because it was in a spoiler for me.
"Look, a note like this, that promises to hand over the evidence later, would never work. Reidford wouldn't believe it, and it just begs to draw attention to Lord Grachius, which is the last thing we want."
Relying on the fact that Gathrix was impressed by him bringing the weapons, Muziel gestures toward them. "Do you see these weapons? Do you know why I brought them here? It wasn't to just take them away. If we just took them, even fools like them would know that something was wrong. And they could just get other weapons and firearms from the Reifords. Our advantage would be lost."
Muziel takes out a flask of clear liquid from his array with a dramatic flourish. "But this, this is the answer. This reagent is normally quite inert. We can spread it on these weapons, and nobody would be the wiser. But if you add heat, the chemical will react powerfully with the metal, causing these weapons to shatter. And I've got an explosive source of heat right here." Muziel shows off his bomb-making materials, and by mixing just a little bit of the material and throwing the flask on the ground, he generates a tiny flame.
"Once I'm done, I'll come back to the group with the weapons like nothing happened. Meanwhile, I need you to set an ambush on the way back from where we came - far enough not to attract attention from the marshals. When you strike, I'll launch a surprise attack with my bombs. They'll be completely unprepared, and with their weapons damaged, they'll have no chance. And once we deal with them, we can leave, and nobody could trace it back to Lord Grachius."
Spending a Hero Point on this bluff check.
The Roleplaying has been excellent. I really mean that.
Best Roleplaying Goes to Karrick. As some of you probably have guessed, Karrick is based on Riddick. And there are times in his posts that I can truly picture Riddick saying these things. At first I wasn't sure if his idea was going to be cheesy, but so far he has executed it very well.
I almost gave best Role Playing to Muziel for his role in tricking Grachius, but one criteria is to play your alignment. And though I appreciate you not playing full on Lawful Evil, I have a hard time seeing your character as Lawful Evil.
Honorable Mentions Pervince has been a bit of an anchor for the group I feel. There are times when the group can go one way or the other and he seems to help maintain game integrity by making decisive decisions. As a GM in PbP I appreciate that, though I do understand ones wanting to Role Play their character. Pervince will receive a Hero Point for this extra effort.
I know opportunities for certain characters to shine has not been equal. In Martel we have a new setting and I think more chances for those with Guild Affiliations and other unique abilities will have a chance to shine. I look forward to seeing who you choose as MVP.
Muziel Moreau
Woo! We made it! I don't know that Muziel's trickery was a very positive thing. It seems to me that had Muziel just left the weapons behind with the guards, everything would have been fine. But he will gladly take the hero point for getting out of the mess he created.
I have reasons to pick each member of this team as MVP. The role playing has been quite good and I think everyone's contributing. But I'll go ahead and name Karrick as MVP this round, mostly because I thought his character interaction with Kera was quite entertaining. I'd pick Kera as well, if I could, but I'm breaking the tie by going with the guy who "started it," so to speak.
Karrick
Karrick has leveled:
Gained 1 level in Fighter [Unbreakable]
He has also gained the extra rogue talent feat, which he has taken Terrain Mastery granting Karrick mastery over Urban terrain.
Karrick gains a +2 bonus on initiative checks and Knowledge (geography), Perception, Stealth, and Survival skill checks when he is in this terrain (urban is streets, buildings and sewers). When Karrick is traveling through his favored terrain he leaves no trail and cannot be tracked (though he may leave a trail if he so chooses).
He's also picked up Endurance and Diehard from Unbreakable, which allows him to sleep in medium armor (that he is now wearing!) as well as other tough-guy things.
VERSATILITY!

I will allow it Miikae, but just to be clear normally you have to take any archetypes at level 1 of any class. It is ok for Karrick to get his archetype for fighter because it is his first level of fighter. I do not see anything in this archetype though that you would have had to change prior to level 3 so I am fine with it.
Miikae Falden
So Detect Evil is like the paladin class ability but (Su) instead of (Sp)?
I should be correctly leveled up. If we get full HP/level does that apply to Sands also? I had him as average before and changed it now. Let me know if you want him average HP or not.
My MVP vote goes to Kera for that crit on Venrich :D
Muziel Moreau
I didn't look until Karrick mentioned it, but then I peeked under the spoiler tag --
Oh my God! The storm turned Kera into a mutant! That is crazy and awesome.
Pervince Ostgood Firetalker
MVP: Karrick
My vote is dependent on who was most essential to the party's progress. Constantly using solo tactics almost cost the vote, but ultimately he's been lucky enough to get away with it.

The impulse to ask has been building...
Could I take the crossbowman archetype and apply the benefits to guns? The archetype was released before the gunslinger was, and crossbows and guns perform similarly.

Ha sorry no, and guns in this game do not perform like crossbows, if crossbows hit touch AC maybe.

If Muziel takes a level of Inquisitor, is there any way he can learn to cast Inquisitor spells in the Mana Wastes (given that he has not been the victim of Calikang torture)?
**Edit** - also, any issue with redoing the level 3 levelup to make Muziel Alchemist 2 / Inquisitor 1 right now? Not saying he'd do it for sure, but it's an idea he's mulling. There's a certain Spiked Chain he may be eyeing.

You can do that if you wish Muziel. Since you have a rare copy of the Umbral Leafs it is possible for you to learn the rites of the religion, even without spell casting. Depending on choices made, this has the potential to be the last Chapter in the Mana Wastes.
Also, depending on choices made, opportunities to learn more about the mysteries of the Mana Wastes are coming up in this chapter. Now that you know about the location of the host, you do realize that it will be some time before you can claim it so holding off on such a decision might be better for now.

Ok so everyone gets one Hero Point for Level.
Karrick gets the MVP vote from group so he gets one extra
Karrick also got best Role Playing last Chapter so he gets another
Muziel had best use of Hero Point in last Chapter so he gets one extra
Pervince got an honorable mention for his keeping the group on track so he gets one extra.
Muziel Moreau
Eh, Muziel will take a level of Infiltrator (Inquisitor) anyway, even if he can't cast a spell yet. Combined with Black Powder Inquisition, Muziel can now fire a gun and becomes better at diplomacy and bluffing. It's suboptimal, but not massively so.
**Edit** Any chance he will be allowed to use the following?
Judgments
Misdirection (to mask his alignment)

Unfortunatly no, even SU abilities are hampered in the wastes which is why our monk didn't last long. I will let go a secret since so far we have only had one caster, Miikae, who has stuck it out in the campaign so far. When you finally do leave the wastes, your ability to cast spells will not only be no longer impeded, but enhanced.
Miikae Falden
Thanks alot now I can't help but read everything Karrick says in Vin Diesel's voice... :p
Muziel Moreau
Glad to hear it, Kera! Hope your feel better right quick.
Miikae - did you want to ask Flynn about the vault? I could also follow that lead if you want, but don't want to step on your toes.
Kera Reedun
I just want to say the past two weeks have been horrid at work. People calling off, programs messing up and the general work BS. I have had to stay late more then once and may have to work two weekend in a row. To top that off I have had back to back to back doctors appointments.
However, every time I look at this game thread I smile and most times laugh. I wanted to thank you all for that. You have made these past few weeks bearable.

As far as I know the DC for an Escape Artist check is equal to the binder’s combat maneuver bonus +20. I got that from d20pfsrd.
So for Grachius to escape the DC would be 26, not an escape artist check from me?
