Greysov was unsure how long he had been a prisoner of the Calikang. He lost track after the first few weeks the torture went on. Greysov wasn't even a practictioner of magic he had joined a caravan on the way to Alkenstar City to try to become a Shield Marshal. That did not happen the caravan was ambushed by Calikang and that is when the Torture began.
One day a vision came of a land of wild magic, a place of mutations and violence. In the middle of this strange land was a man dressed in black and white one side of his face was fair and handsome the other was black with viens of a strange energy flowing through him. The man waved the black hand towards the land around him and it cleansed by fire.
This vision gave Greysov a renewed strength to escape through spells and Knowledge of the destructive power of guns. Greysov used this knowledge to escape so he could continue on to Alkenstar and accomplish the Mission the God of Magic showed him. He will help bring stability to magic to this land. Greysov was found at the gates to Alkenstar with half his hair bleached white with a broken gun in one hand and a staff in the other. This began his life in Alkenstar.

Victim of Calikang Torture You are one of the misfortunate spellcasters to be caught by a Calikang and brought to the spellscar desert to "heal" the magic. Performing magic in this extreme condition has permanitly sickened you, but has had its benefits. -1 con. +4 concentration checks. You can sense the chaotic magical nature of the Mana Wastes. You can predict magic storms and feel magic voids within 100'. By predicting the ebb and flow of this chaos you can produce magic and spell like abilities of your level or ability with a successful concentration check. A failed check means your spell fizzles.Scrolls, items and potions still have no effect.In magic voids you are still unable to cast, but as stated above you can detect these voids and try to avoid them. When casting during a magic storm, there is a 25% chance for a random magical mishap to occur.

I am going to go ahead and work on the Game Thread now. Once it is up Kera, Zadok, Greysov,Mikkae, and Pervince go ahead and post at will. Those of you who are still working on your characters do not panic, I will wait until weds to post my replies and offically start the game.

I think the Deputy would have heard of the Cpt and Karrick since they are moderatly known criminals in the area
Muziel and Mikkae and the Undine may know eachother from her service as a guide to diplomats
Greysov and Pervince are probably at least familar with eachother by name if they are both gunslingers worth knowing in Alkenstar.
Other than that this is the first time you are all working together.

Hello, its the player of Urdahna Gansukh, the Undine Monk. Just reposting here to state my interest to continue playing with the group. Looking forward to the game and I'll start posting in the main game.
Thanks Urdahna. The way this is set up it is easier to have all of you in one thread, at least until you all post in the Game Thread, after that it autofils you in my character tab which is nice.
If everyone posts befor Weds I will post sooner in the Game thread I just want to give everyone the oppertunity in case they have not been following the thread and only waiting until the 20th, which is what I put out.
Great Posts so far, Just remember to do all of your rolls. I think Cpt Oliver is missing a perception and Kera has an unlabled roll(I assume its the perception check since thats the one I specificly asked for, but if not change it please.)

I just noticed I made a minor mistake with two names. Morra is actually Hanna's Daughter. Hanna is the Duchess. Appologies for the confusion there I was looking at the wrong thing when I originally transcribed the recruitment portion. Morra will come up later in the campaign.

For some odd reason it won't let me edit but the roll was for Knowledge Dungeoneering DC 15, which I failed.
If it was for that you actually made it. You rolled an 18 with a bonus of 2 total of 20.
You still did not give me a perception check, and niether did Karrick. I typed it in game tab and here so I will just assume you want your characters to be non-perceptive at this momment.

Is there a map?
Also just an idea from a few other games I am also in.
I would be fine if to streamline things the DM rolls for obvious things such as initiative and saves where we dont have a choice but to roll.

There is no map, as stated in the Recruitment thread this is theatre of the mind.
I have done initative rolls in the past, but in the end it does not matter because ultimatly that person needs to post,and I may not include in your initative some ability or what not that you would like to use. If you want to post your action for your round as you roll initative you may.

Concentration for Guidance 1d20+7 4 for trait, 1 for CL, 2 for Wis mod. Is this correct?
Yes that is correct, thank you. ref pg 207 of the core for this. Base DC will be 10-12, any increase or decrease from that base you will know prior to any initative. Things that affect DCs include- Level of spell, activity while casting, combat, injuries ect.
To keep the Game tab clear of too many non-game posts I will address things like this here. I have enjoyed all your posts so far everyone, and just so you all know this is probably the most aggrevating part of the first mod.

Agravating is fun. It tests the characters and puts them through their paces. It can't all be a breeze can it :)
Perhaps I should have prepared light instead... oh well.
Also Sands has the scent ability. Would that help us at all detecting things in the sewers much?

I'm not sure you can take a 20 on a disable device check for a trap since it presumes you are rolling a 1 a 2 a 3 (etc) on your way to 20. Wouldn't that trigger the trap?
That is true, I missed that and just looked at the actual result. In the future I will inform you when you may take 20/10, though really if that is the case in PbP I will probably just give you the auto success or I might say something like- You may take 20, but you will need addtional help to be successful,guidance, aid ect
In this case since Miikae went through the trouble of a concentration check to cast guidance on you I will give it to you.
Miikae-Scent will be a very beneficial ability to have in this Mod.

Everythiing but the potion is fine. Any basic gear from the list on Pg 158-159 of the core if that will make it clearer, excluding animals and services of corse.
Those without guns in the group that I am aware of -Kera, Urdahna, You and Karrick.
