Slice!
Nicholas tries a spell to stop the casting of the demon, but the ball of magical snow misses the target. Viktor on the other hand makes quick work of the one in front of him. The remaining demon finally finishes his casting, but the spell seems to fizzle. Frustrated, he starts casting again, but this time the spell succeeds and a cloud of nauseating fumes appears around the group, rendering any breathing difficult.
The guards press on their advantage and strike at Viktor, inflicting him some serious wounds.
Viktor grimaces in pain, trying to shore up some of his wounds.
He then steps out of the nauesating clouds, applying his dagger to the next dretch.
Bakji's eyes watered slightly, but he quickly held his breath.
Bakji stumbles his way out of the cloud and turns his attention towards the woman once again. He coughs as he pulls another arrow and fires quickly.
Bakji moves out of the cloud and sends an arrow toward the woman in the back. The arrow hits her in the shoulder, a trail of blood drips down her arm. She moves forward and attacks the Samsaran with her weapon. The blade passes near the target but misses. The tiefling reload his crossbow and this time aims at Iona. The bolt hits her in the leg, digging deep in the flesh. With the dagger in hand, Viktor uses it to inflict a nasty wound on the demon.
Iona noticed the it try to cast again, and she held her breath hoping it would fail like the one before it. Thus this time when it didn't fail she was prepared.
She stepped out of the cloud and came face to face with one of the glaive wielders, yet what took her attention was the bolt that found itself buried into her thigh. She let out a cry of but fought through it to swing at the one before her.
Nicholas hurls the last of his arcane energy at the mysterious woman before moving up and drawing his alchemical dagger getting out of the area of the foul gas... he really wished he hadn't left his crossbow at the inn right now.
Iona's sword find a weak spot in the guards defense and score a good hit. As for Nicholas, the ball of magical snow hits her the face. She staggers back for a moment, trying to refocus herself. The last demon lash out at the Viktor, but it is unable to get pass the large shield. The wounded guard uses magic to heal herself. The other one takes a step back to use the reach of her weapon to attack Viktor, but again, that large shield gets in the way.
Bakji dropped his bow, his hand coming to the hilt of his longsword and pulling it free. His eyes never leaving the man with the Glaive in front of him. He stepped up inside the reach of the man's weapon and sliced.
With his sword in hand, Bakji attacks the woman in front of him. The blade slices through the air and hit the target. Piercing through the armor, the sword deep and the woman collapse from the attack. Reloading the crossbow, the tiefling take another shot at Bakji. The bolt just misses the target and ricochet off the wall.
Iona swung once more at the warrior before her.
Sadly the blade only finds air.

Nicholas slashes with his dagger and starts circling around the glaive wielding foe. They weren't a real threat to him the polearm being difficult to wield against a target this close and his presence should help shield Bakji.
Iona, Viktor, and Nicholas attack fail to find their mark. The demon's claw scrapped against the Paladin's armor, but this time it manages to sink its teeth in Viktor's arm. The guards continue to try to keep their target in reach of their weapon, but it's starting to look bad for them as once again they can't get a successful hit.
Bakji drops his Longsword and crouches down picking up his bow once more. He turns his attention to the Tiefling in back and fires.
Bakji's arrow hit the tiefling, he looks severely wounded, but keep on fighting. He reloads his crossbow and fire again. But as the bolt hit the wall again, a worried look appear on his face.
Nicholas moves up to stay inside the guard of the enemy polearms thrusting the blade towards the shoulder of the demon worshiper.
Iona stepped up next to Nicholas and swung once more.
Viktor hilariously misses his next attack.
Nicholas dagger manages to draw some blood, but Iona and Viktor misses. The Demon attacks again. This time, one of its claw gets pass Viktor's defense and injured the Paladin. The two guards, however can't get a hit in.
Bakji steps forwards a little and eyes his target proper before unleashing another arrow.

Bakji's arrow flies straight and hit the tielfling in the chest. He coughs up some blood and try to take a few steps, but collapse on the ground.
Nicholas continues to press within the reach of the cultists.
The battle continues!
Iona turned her attention to the creature Viktor was striving to strike down.
Nicholas dagger hits the guard. The blade fail to break the skin, but still leave a bruise. Viktor slashes at the demon. The demon deflects the blade, but it leaves it open for Iona's blade that come down straight on the creature's neck. The wound is massive and the demon staggers for a moment before collapsing on the ground. One of the guards tries to take out Nicholas and manages to land a solid blow against the arcane user. The blade digs into the flesh and blood start flowing, but Nicholas still stands. The other tries to take advantage of Iona's focus on the demon, but he swings too high and completely misses.
Now with the demon felled, Iona turned her full attention to the cultists before her. Stepping up she swung the blade upon the one who thought to take advantage of her turned back.
Yet swung too wide.
Nicholas thrusts his dagger at the guard before stepping back to leave room for Ibona and Viktor but it's more of warning than an actual threat. Now they had driven the guards back a little he could get ready to use his spells again.
Bakji squints as he eyes up his next target, the guard in the back, and lets loose another arrow.
With the demons down, Viktor moves onto the guards and takes his more familiar weapon back out.
The two guards try to take down Iona. They swing their glaive around but don't get anywhere near the priest.
Bakji adjusted slightly, took a few steps forward and aimed at the one Viktor wasn't up against.
Nicholas takes advantage of the increased distance to start harassing the two surviving enemies with rays of frost.
Iona stepped up to swing once more.
Swing!
The group's combine attacks overcome the guards, and both collapse. With the fight over, the group is able to rest a moment and look at their surroundings. It feels like the worst is behind them and that the surface isn't far now.
Nicholas will set about checking their fallen enemies for equipment and resources, he cast's detect magic to aid in this. "Now our merry little band is taking on full blooded demons! Dretchs are minor demons but still I think we came out of that one well. We'd do well to keep out peeled for cold iron and silver weapons for everyone."
"I wonder should we rest here with a defensive location or press on to the surface where there's a lot of enemies and threats."
"We have people to return and gather." Iona said as she moved to the body of the woman who ordered her to drop the blade. "She wanted this blade badly." Iona said as she looked her new sword over then back down to the woman's body. "Ensure all are dead, then I shall call upon Iomedae to heal our wounds as best I can." Iona told them before she ensure the woman was dead before moving on.
Bakji nods to the group "I am uninjured and my eyesight is a bit better than yours. I will go ahead and scout a bit further just to make sure no threats are left before we trail back." he said before he stalked off
While the group is gathering the loot and making sure no one is feinting being dead, Bakji heads out to see what lay further up the corridor. Even though the corridor is uneven, it feels more like an old sewer system than a natural cave. Eventually, it connects to a recent branch of sewers and after thirty feet, the corridor comes to an end in a large sinkhole. For the first time in a long while, Bakji is able to see the sky and feel the soft whisper of the wind. After a few seconds of enjoying the fresh air, Bakji heads back tot he group to report his finding.
Bakji comes back after a small fashion with a smug look on his face. He nods to the others "We can be back under the blue sky soon enough, not too long down the way even. Let's double check the area, investigate that water fall and gather up our party." he said almost sounding giddy.
While Bakji is gone Nicholas studies the various potions and the wand and double checks the masterwork items in case they are magical in nature. "I'll take one of those crossbows and the bolts if no one objects. The greater part of my arcane energy is spent for the day."
"How swiftly do you all think we could get the others here?" Iona asked. "I'm worried more may come and we'll have the fight through again." She said with a sigh, "But if we remain to give us time to rest we may have to face more going out once again."
"I think we are better to rest and recover. Better face more odds at full strength."
