Um yeah Zelda would be willing, just would have to work out with the GM the mats cost and such. I think it's only ammo that is 10% 'retail' to make, therefore it would be 500g for a pistol and 750g for a musket.

![]() |

OH wait I was wrong anyway, I just looked it up again and realized I was thinking of magic item prices, not regular crafting costs and it's 1/3 the cost of the item for raw materials. So it's 340g for a pistol and 510g for a musket.

The Gnome |

Hah, sounds good either way. Not sure whether I'd want to pick up the musket or the pistol...

I like big guns and I cannot lie!
All the other casters can't deny,
with the deadly power of powder and shot
You can shoot even more putz!
It's just fun, bigger shoots further too
But a blunderbuss has scattershot, true?

Super rickety

Swarms. Not even once.

They were certainly doing me in

rando1000 |

Thing bombed out again when I was trying to reply to this!
Yes, I haven't been able to get on reliably all day. I didn't try yesterday. Hopefully they get this sorted. It stops at a hop on the same domain every time, so I would think it would be obvious who the culprits are.

The Gnome |

Yes.. Those damn goblins are at it again!

OMG *Shoots Paizo servers*

Are... Are things stable?

Anyone who knows anything about the UK's recent election will understand this reference.
They're strong and stable. Which is why they completely collapse occasionally.

So, just a general question to folks, how do you people feel about the level of interaction I display between Hickle and Shmick? Both to eachother and others, if you would.

![]() |

That is a GREAT question! =)
I don't know if anyone else will agree with this, but I'd like to see a bit more. It seems like the Gnome says something brief, the golem does a quick Statler and Woldorf bit, and then that's it. They seem more like two fratboys that are forced to sit next to each other in history class, than a father and his creation.
Like, I know that Anton seems eminently punchable. (A very good way to describe him, btw.) He's the goof that, for some reason that drives _every_ guy CRAZY, seems to have landed a -hot- girl, and she's pretty cool and has her head on straight and does her best to keep him out of trouble, and everyone is like "why are those two together??" But they seem happy despite, or because of, their differences.
Hence, just spend those few, brief, rich moments after you lay down and before you fall asleep, wondering, really wondering, what life aught to be like between those two.
They may just surprise you. ;)

Kephry |

I've liked their interactions to date. They seem to play off eachother well, and there hasn't been terribly many times for them to interact outside of tomb raiding and undead slaying (only one I can think of is the night between the expeditions), so I haven't expected much in that regard :-P I am curious to eventually learn how Shmick feels about his creation, that could be interesting development in the future.

rando1000 |

Hickle and his automated companion have definitely helped make the party unique. There's some pretty good role playing going on so far in this game in general, which is kind of important in a game with so many combat encounters lest it start to seem like an endless dungeon crawl.

The Gnome |

Interesting, thank you all for your input. I certainly have been enjoying playing them so far, and will continue to do so. To address Anton, they interact the way they do because that's how their personalities tend to lay. Hickle is a friendly eccentric old genius, while Shmick is a reserved but snarky kinda guy who's still getting to know the party. Hickle views Shmick as his son, while Shmick is trying his best to seem independent.
We've only been together for a few days, ya know? Still plenty of time for Shmick to get closer to everyone. I was actually really enjoying his interactions with Pein, as she really brought the sarcastic parts of himself to the forefront.
Let's keep this going, we still have hundreds of more adventures to pursue

rando1000 |

Hey, guys. This is way out, since I'm running two active campaigns right now, but can I get your opinion on a campaign idea?
I was thinking about Starfinder, which I'm going to purchase the PDF as soon as it's available, and some stuff I'm reading, and I got the idea to run a kind of rebels campaign in the Starfinder universe, similar to the story of the Maquis in Star Trek.
Like there is a colony whose homeland has been officially abandoned to enemy forces by the Pact Words but battles on for independence/freedom.

Yes. Definitely. Absolutely.
I've been looking forward to trying out the game as soon as I can myself, and if you're willing to run, then why not?

![]() |

Yass! I definitely would love to, I might even see if I can approximate a version of my space pirate, Captain Quinn. Currently in Pathfinder I have her as a gunslinger (techslinger) 5/witch (white-haired) 15-20 (depending on which version of her I'm using for a campaign... my mythic games I allow higher than level 20, just each class is capped at 20)

I'd definitely be up for it, if you'd have me. I have a couple character ideas myself, since I've been hyped for the game since PaizoCon last year when it was announced :-P I'll be running demos for it all weekend at GenCon, so I should have a good grasp of the early-level rules by that point.

I know the feeling. You should have seen my run of the first two books of Reign of Winter... the phrase "Trial by Fire" comes to mind.

Malavine |

Trial by ice, surely?
I'll probably be interested, although I have no idea about the Starfinder rules and such - I don't pay much attention until things are out and complete.

rando1000 |

Cool, thanks. My idea is some sort of Pact colony world somewhere in Near Space or just beyond that's being officially "vacated," but to which the colonists have grown rather attached. It will probably be a racial colony, at least initially; perhaps Elves (not married to that idea). But settlers of all races will have arrived over time, to the point where it's rather cosmopolitan at this point, while still having a certain flavor.
But opponents will end up being not only the new "owners" of the world but also Pact World vessels who are trying to stop their former citizens from inciting a galactic war over one "insignificant" planet.

Hey Rando, do eidolons need to sleep?
I know right now the question is mute, but there are a few ways for the Summoner to not need sleep, so would the eidolon always stay up if the Summoner never slept?
P.S. Have you ever played the original MechCommander video game? The plot is about the planet Carver, that sits in the middle of the Inner Sphere, and almost does lead to another Secession War, but does see some hard fighting by all five of the major houses over this "insignificant" planet. Your SF plot just reminded me of that. =)

rando1000 |

As far as I can tell the eidolon can hang around as long as the summoner is awake. so if Anton can avoid sleep, so can Alanna.
As far as the game, no, I haven't. I don't play a lot of video games. But I might check into the lore a bit to glean some additional ideas. I started batting around some specifics yesterday, so it's in the works.

Uret Jet |

Hmm... Never played batteltech before. Robotech however...
Also, I kinda really want to make an Eoxian... Would you guys be insulted to pal around with a cheeky undead Bastard? ;)

I'm all for the that, especially if it means I get to pilot a DireWolf.
I see your Direwolf and raise you one...something. Can't remember the name. Something big? Meh, it's probably not important. ^_^
Huh. I seem to have posted with the wrong alias. That's...so weird. =p

As fun as Old Skullface is, I started my MechWarrior says on MechWarrior 2, and the DireWolf was my first love.
Of course, I still have MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries and MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries on my laptop...so the Mad Cat MkII is also a fun toy.
Guys, let me (get ahold of and ) learn the rules before I try to build custom battle-mechs, pls!
...fine.
We'll just make a Gigantic, walking Cathedral to Brigh with ungodly weapons of mass destruction loaded aboard it instead.

Considering the theme, something with that description is MUCH more likely to end up on your opponents' side than yours...

The Gnome |

Most likely not.
