Making sure he says close to the protective circle, Rhuul carefully heads left steadying his mind against an expected assault and keeping up the jokes as he goes.

Will will be +12 vs a spell due to (+2) dwarven hardiness and (+1) flagbearer. He has bardic music up, and will using saving finale on a failed save, either himself or another. Of course with the protection from evil up, it might not be able to affect him anyway.

As the group comes up to the door, the dwarf quickly notes the problem.

"If ye really be needing it, me axe can reduce yonder door to firewood in but a few blows. But it be making quite the racket as it does so.." he offers.

"Maybe we should look in that room behind us first and see if there be a clue or two.."

Pale white walls covered in seemingly random splotches of pastel paint comprise the only decoration in this otherwise empty room. In the center of the room is a pedestal with a single glowing shard lying atop it. A dazzling bright light shines from nowhere in particular.

There are phrases in hallit around the room with various means, some of them written with dried blood.
