Daedîn |
Daedîn will target the enforcer that is furthest away so that Gyrand's target will be closer.
Once everyone is in position and Rilmor is ready to begin his protective enchantments, Daedîn will fire at the northernmost enforcer...
Longbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 1 + (5) = 12
Rilmor Kinnon |
Before the party heads up the ladder to the stables, he casts three spells (Moment of Greatness on the Party, Protection from Evil on Gyrand, and Magic Weapon on Coetus).
Minor change in plans follows.
At the top of the stairs, Rilmor will activate Inspiring Word on Coetus and whispers to him, "That is almost everything I can do for you. Get the leader by the well."
Current buffs and remaining duration (assuming 3 rounds after casting to climb ladder and get into position):
- Moment of Greatness (Everyone, those affected by Inspiring Word can active for 1 use). 15 rounds left
- Protection from Evil (Gyrand). 16 rounds left
- Magic Weapon (Coetus). 17 rounds left
- Inspiring Word (Coetus). 3 rounds left after Rilmor activates
Atronia |
Ahah! Thanks for the Monthy Python clip. It had been a while since I'd seen this one. Can't you use a ray or something during the surprise round, though?
Atronia starts singing a song about great battles of the past, starting her Inspired Rage.
Gwerrmet |
Yes, I can use a Ray of Frost; 1d3+2 cold damage, with my combined bloodline arcana.
I've got the Primal cold ray too (1d6 each), instead of dragon claws.
And colour spray which is awesome at low levels.
But I'm not not at all sturdy in the front line, of course.
However, since this is a surprise round:
--------------------
Surprise Round
Gwerrmet will move up beside Atronia, before anyone else moves into the fray,
and cast a spell at the guard nearest the stables:
« գույն լակի » . . "colour spray", in aquan
(DC 14, WILL negates)
Gwerrmet won't accept the rage song benefits, so he can cast his spell.
He's going to try and use his colour spray spell ahead of everyone else,
so he doesn't risk knocking out any of his teammates.

Coetis Int: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Daedin Int: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Gwerrmet Int: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
GyrandInt: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Rilmor Int: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Ahendile Int: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Thug Int: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Daedin's arrow flies through the air, Striking the enforcer in the throat! He slumps to the ground, dead before he lands. In the moments of startled confusion, the bright spray of color blasts from Gwerrmet's hands, catching the other enforcer in the face.
will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
He blinks in started surprise a few times as the stars clear from his eyes. The thug shouts In the stables! as he brings his crossbow up. The priest at the well shouts "FOR THE GLORY OF RAZMIR!", drawing her wand to point it at our heroes!
Combat initiates!
The Bold may move!
Gyrand@Gyrand, I interpreted your earlier statement to mean that you where using your surprise round for a move action to move up to the bad guy remaining enforcer here after he gets colored sprayed, so go ahead and start your proper round next to him. If I misunderstood, let me know what you'd rather do instead.

Thanks GM! This works fine for me, my friend.
Gyrand advances on the coordinated surprise, and finally attacks the bandit with his madu. The brawler is fighting defensively.
Crane Style as a swift
Attack: 1d20 + 3 - 0 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 0 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (3) = 8 Adding Sneak Attack since I go before him
My AC is now 23 / 18 / 15
GM_Starson |
Gyrand moves swift as a coursing river, and with the strength of a great typhoon strikes the enforcer in the jaw with his Madu. The crack resounds through the air before the enforcer slumps against the stone walls of the gate, blood pouring from his broken jaw as he falls unconscious.
The priestess glares at Gyrand and focuses on him, flashing her wand adorned with the symbol of Razmir in the air.
OH GREAT RAZMIR! She shouts BRING THE DISBELIEVER TO HIS KNEES!
A pulsing sickly ray of light flashes out of the symbol at Gyrand.
Ray attack vs. Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Thankfully, Gyrand's crane style allows him the balance needed to duck out of the way of the dangerous beam of energy which splashes off the wall behind him. She spits a curse as she looks at her downed allies before pulling a small bottle of something from her cloak, though she doesn't have time to drink it before...

Daedîn will move quickly from the stable and fire off another arrow, this time at the Razmiri priestess...
Longbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Rilmor Kinnon |
Rilmor moves up and activates Inspiring Word on Daedin.
- Moment of Greatness (Everyone, those affected by Inspiring Word can active for 1 use). 14 rounds left
- Protection from Evil (Gyrand). 15 rounds left
- Magic Weapon (Coetus). 16 rounds left
- Inspiring Word (Coetus). 2 rounds left
- Inspiring Word (Daedin). 3 rounds left
Gyrand, did you also add in your Protection from Evil AC bonus? It may or may not apply here.
Atronia |
Atronia advances toward the priestess as fast as she can.
GM_Starson |
@Gyrand, I forgot to bold you, you can move as well.
Daedîn |
Thanks, Rilmor. Sorry, I'm not very spell savvy....from your next to last post, not sure if I get +4 over the next three rounds or +4 in one and +2 in the others? Either way, those spells are awesome...
Gyrand |
Still fighting on his defensive style, Gyrand charges the priest and attacks. Instead of trying to do damage, though, the brawler goes for tripping the enemy.
CMB (Trip): 1d20 + 3 - 0 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 - 0 + 2 = 25
Gyrand doesn't have Improved Trip; his attempt provokes. His AC right now is 23 - 2 = 21 (or +2 = 23 if the enemy is evil)
Daedîn |
Figuring it can't be good for the party, Daedîn yells out, "Don't let her drink the potion!"
Hope the trip prevents it...if not, don't know if there's a spell of Gwerrmet's that might prevent or hamper that...
GM_Starson |
In intrest of time, I'm gonna say Gwennet delays until after Priest moves.
Daedin's arrow is almost deflected by the priestess magic, but it instead slices through her robes, opening up a neat cut, and she let's out a cry of pain. With no weapon in hand to attack back, the priest tumbles to the ground as Gyrand sweeps her feat out from under her. With the brawler standing above her, her eyes widen in panic behind her iron mask. Sweeping her hand forward, she focuses her eyes on Gyrand and shouts.
BURN THE UNBELIEVER!
Cast defensive concentrate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Except, well, hitting the ground seems to have knocked the breath out of her, and it comes out in more of a choked Burn the *COUGH, Hack*... and the spell sparks into nothingness in her hand. Still coughing, she pulls herself up using the well to prop her up.
@Standing will provoke a AOO from Gyrand.

Gwerrmet Gwerrmet, you may act twice as if you had readied your turn for after Ahendile's move.
Daedîn |
Daedîn moves quickly 25' east and fires again at the priestess, while she's exposed and leaning against the well...
Longbow: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 4 = 17 (with Inspiring Word/Moment of Greatness bonus)
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Rilmor Kinnon |
Rilmor moves up. Since he is too slow and too far away from the rest of the party, he invokes Inspiring Word again, targeting Grand.
Buff tracking:
- Moment of Greatness (Everyone but Daedin, those affected by Inspiring Word can active for 1 use). 13 rounds left
- Protection from Evil (Gyrand). 14 rounds left
- Magic Weapon (Coetus). 15 rounds left
- Inspiring Word (Coetus). 1 round left
- Inspiring Word (Daedin). 2 rounds left
- Inspiring Word (Gyrand). 3 rounds left
Gyrand |
Attack (AoO): 1d20 + 3 - 0 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 0 = 21
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Gyrand five-foot-steps to flank with Coetis, then attacks again. He stays fighting defensively in his crane style.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 - 0 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 - 0 + 2 + 2 = 9 Flank, Inspiring Word
Damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (1) = 4
His attack misses, though, as he pushes his shield-looking weapon wide.
Gwerrmet |
Rounds 1 & 2
Withh the goons dealt with, Gwerrmet moves into the courtyard to deal with the priestess of Razmir:
« ყინვაგამძლე » . . "ray of frost", in draconic
ray of frost, round one: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
« ճառագայթը սառը » . . "ray of frost", in aquan
ray of frost, round two: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
(bonus cold damage for combined arcana)
Atronia |
Gyrand, have you been using the bonus from my raging song, or is something making it bad for a brawler? It doesn't stack with Rilmor's Inspiring word, but it would at least give you +1 to damage and +2hp, as well as some more benefits if Rilmor's Inspiring Word runs out somehow.
Atronia, still singing, approaches the priestess and raises her sword to attack.
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 4) + 7 = 14
Gyrand |
Completely missed it, Atronia. I should have done 1 more point of damage on my previous attack. It's not bad for me at all. I will start "light raging" next round (too many things to remember when it's PbP! Heh
GM_Starson |
Atronia, I think it should stack. The +2 morale bonus to STR from Raging Song and +2 morale bonus to attack from Inspiring Word should stack.
EDIT: They would stack cause 1 is a STR bonus and one is a bonus to attack, sorry, I need to learn to read apparently.
@Coetis, I believe I forgot to include a chance at AOO for you when she stood up, so feel free to take it with your turn.
Atronia |
@Rilmor, Oh! I hadn't realized that. Good to know.
@Daedîn: It's a +2 to Strength, so it wouldn't do anything for your attacks, since you don't have a composite bow.
Atronia |
It's only +1 Will. But if we want to discuss this further, we should go to Discussion rather than here.
Coetis Reorum |
Attack(AOO): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Coetis will then make the priestess his hated target then strike again.
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
GM_Starson |
Daedis's arrow strikes true, and as the priestess reaches to drink her potion, she is simultaneously struck by the icy cold of Gwerrmet's icy frost and Coetis's blade digs through her rib cage, cutting her heart, blood spewing forth along his blade. Her eyes widen behind her mask for just a moment, but She doesn't even have time to cry out as her body slumps to the ground, blood pooling beneath her, and those same eyes grow dark. The priestess defeated, the path is clear back to the boat!
Upon returning to the Abacus docked on the Glass River with Rakuska and colleagues with them, the team are able to sail upriver with all speed and put Razmiran behind them as quickly as possible. The remainder of the journey to Mendev is uneventful, save for the obvious hostility that now exists between Metella Raugar and Temel Passad. Although the Pathfinders have performed a great service in rescuing the dwarven emissaries, they have also earned the Society a dangerous foe. Razmiran does not forget a slight, and several more priests converge on the Gray Revelation Inn to search for clues as to who was responsible for the daring rescue. The team's efforts to remain secretive may have slowed their pursuers, but it has only delayed the inevitable reprisal.
------------------------------------------------
Congratulations Pathfinders! You Completed the mission!
Success of the mission is as follows-
Primary Success Condition-
If the PCs successfully liberate one or more of the captives in the secret cellar and transport them to Mendev, the mission is a success, and all PCs earn 1 Prestige Point. SUCCESS
Secondary Success Condition-
Sooner or later, the masked priests are likely to find out who was responsible for the attack on Razmiri soil, but the PCs had several opportunities to prevent the Razmiri from identifying and tracking them:
-convincing the Sisters Grymble to accept the PCs’ cover story: SUCCESS! (By 1 point!)
-preventing Holy Ahendile from escaping to report to her superiors: SUCCESS! (She's very con dead with Coetis's final attack)
-recovering the box of hair and blood: SUCCESS!!
Meeting at least two of these criteria earns all PCs 1 additional Prestige Point. BOTH PRESTIGE POINTS EARNED!
Since nobody is scarab sages (Osirian) or exchange (Qadira), those extra boons aren't earned, but I left them on their in case you change your character up before level two into those factions. Otherwise all gold was found and the mission is a total success.
You can get your chronicle sheets here: Glass River Chronicle Sheet And i've reported your success to the lodge.
Coetis, I don't have your pathfinder number, so I'll need that before I can report your success. I'll also be posting this in the discussion area for chatting.
Please feel free to let me know if there is anything i could have done better for this game. I only get better if I know what i did wrong! Compliments are also enjoyed however.
If your intrested, next game I'm gonna be running is Signups are here, and the thread here
