In-character post coming later today, just musing on choice of costumes for Mariel. First pick was the crone, since spell-casting is what I mostly contribute. Alternatively, a chou. I can't really speak with the audience, but trying to do so in Auran could be used for comedic value. That also allows me to cast spells, and - with the broom acting as a sword - means I can still activate Iomedae's Inspired Sword.
(I had throught about General for a while, just activating the Inspiring Sword each round. Most of my spells are buffs anyway, which I can cast before we go on stage. However, I think other people would be better suited for General.)

Jillia would see herself as the warrior woman- -the obvious heroine of the opera- -heavy armor and polearms be damned!
Of note, I'll be spending all of today and most of tomorrow at a convention. Feel free to bot our Virtuoso of Violence if we need to press on. (Totally stealing that nickname.)

@Virtuoso: Have fun ;)
Naturally Mido would gravitate towards the cruel bandit. However with his stellar Bluff modifier he might also be well suited to the Chou role. Not sure how important these are though
The parts have two basic components:
1. Mechanics: I think Shifty/Kiang Zhen said it best:
“You must act (fight) within the limits of your role.”
2. Flavor: The roleplay value you bring to the part.
GM Advice: Grab whichever role you want ASAP and let’s dive in! :)

Would it be a sense motive check to get a read on what this guy and others like him would think if bloodshed were to happen offstage? As in a raptor were to rip to bits a dirty Aspis behind the curtain?
No Sense Motive is required.
I understand Rika is teed off about the ronin being beheaded in the Aspis hit. However, the rules of the Event are clear:
However, there must be no bloodshed. Any shows of lethal force will result in your immediate disqualification from the event.
I would rule that applies to everywhere in the theatre.
If Rika wants revenge, she might have to find a different way that OMG doesn’t involve violence.

I imagine that's supposed to say "gathering of heroes"?

![]() |

Roger that. I guess we'll have to settle for concussions for the time being.

The General: The General wears a long beard and fights with a wooden sword (1d8 nonlethal)
What's the crit range on these fake weapons?
The scenario describes the weapon as a wooden sword (not a wooden longsword or short sword) and no crit range is given, so I would rule it’s 20 by default.
I note that Mariel has cast keen edge on your weapon, so I would say Rika’s weapon currently has a crit range 19-20.

Good to know!

![]() |

Folks! I'll be travelling tomorow and thursday. I prolly won't be able to post so please GMPC if needed.

![]() |

Quick question- -is this "blunted polearm" a reach weapon?

![]() |

I think this might be the first time I've ever used the "free sunder on a full attack" option. It doesn't come up often with light weapons...

![]() |

GM, I was going by this language in the rules for the chou.
Chou can carry and wield a broom or stick (treat as an improvised weapon dealing 1d6 nonlethal damage), claiming it to be whatever weapon they desire for the sake of performance and comedic value.
Not good enough for Iomedae, it seems. :)

![]() |

That will miss. Splint Mail, size, and Rilas barkskin make for a 20 AC. Also there is one more instance of Mariel's ward, so it's a 21 for the next hit.
Also, doublechecking, I'm not actually proficient with heavy armor; my archetype trades it out for extra dodge bonuses. So that sunder attempt likely missed as well, if you feel like retconning.

![]() |

Well, if we're up against the deadline, I suppose I'll take an illconcieved attack or two.

"And take off that dress Pratts"
Noooooooo!!!
☏ ☏ ☏
I am expecting Shifty to move us forward inside the next 10 hours.
Well done, people! We are right on track :)

![]() |

@GM: My info has been updated to reflect the current state. (Namely, having my own armor back on.)

![]() |

I didn't think it had 15foot reach, but stranger things, man. Stranger things.

Is there any way to suss out such information about what's the deal with Pratts?
Apologies, Rika. That was just fluff.
You mentioned in the other game RL was hitting you hard, so that was just something to tide us over until you, Mido and Valjoen could post.
A quick check round the tables shows we are now a little behind the leaders.
As such, I am going to move us forward shortly.

![]() |

Fair enough. With that clarified, Rika goes down the slip-and-slide.

![]() |

Question; I can't covert damage from the slide into non-lethal since I don't think it counts as a melee (or ranged) attack..but I have DR 3/- I think that does for the apply to the sliding into a wall damage, right?
Just in case it's going to come down to those 3 hps at any point during the fight ;)

Shifty is hinting at wanting to get all the administration for the event squared away.
FYI: I will be supplying you with your Chronicle AND Reporting the event.
My preferred method of delivering your Chronicles is pdf by e-mail. So if you could please PM me your preferred e-mail address that would be groovy.
I already have e-mail addresses for Jillia & Manius.
I will sort out table boons once Jillia lets me know whether she wants me to roll for myself first or last.

![]() |

First works. (does it matter)?

Yours is mined |

Just a transparency thing, in case the first or last roll wins a boon, Jillia.
I am going to roll a d20 for me first and then each player (in alphabetical order) - all at once.
RANDOM Boon on a natural roll of 1 or 20
**Re-Rolls not allowed on boons**
GM: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Jillia: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Manius: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Mariel: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Mido: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Rika: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Valjoen: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Well, bum. No boon winners on our table :(
Thank-you to everyone that has PM'd me their e-mail. Still waiting for one more.

Can everyone please take a moment to check your details are correct >>HERE<<
Then I’ll get to work on your Chronicles.

Correct.

Sorry for the very long silence. A close friend was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer on Thursday. I took the day off of work on Friday to be with him.
Sounds like you all did well... thanks for dragging me along.

![]() |

Stay strong, Valijoen.
Less important: Bugler: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18, and my info looks good.

![]() |

Oh god. I'm so sorry to hear that. Take care of your friend.

![]() |

@GM: Yeah, the grapple try doesn't provoke. Figured it wasn't going to be successful, but gotta try, right?
Challenge: An order of the hammer cavalier can attempt a free grapple check or free sunder combat maneuver check anytime she takes the full-attack action against the target of her challenge. This free combat maneuver does not provoke an attack of opportunity.

I'm beginning to empathize with all of those generic cops in the first scene of The Matrix that try apprehend Trinity.
...best displacement...
