Scarab Sages

As Lars rushes through the wall of fire he takes another
Fire damage for Lars: 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (6, 1) + 11 = 18
and then manages to smash Togarin with his sword in both hands

As Shayla manages to jump down into a little corner of a dark pit the try to hide from the scary wizard.

Archibalds greets Shayla when she arrives there and tells her that there isn't anything he can do about it I don't see anything on his spell list that would help here.

The tiger continues to chew on Charasii

Togarin takes a step away from Lars and summons forth a bunch of magic missiles that slam into Lars

Lars sways and screams, partly to brace himself, mostly in pain as the flame burns him.

The brief rush of adrenaline he gained from seeing his blow strike flesh is short lived, and as the missiles strike, he is almost too far gone to shout. His face twists in agony and he nearly goes down to one knee.

Acting quickly, Lars attacks the tiger, giving Clandelve and Charasi a look that says: "avenge me!"

Clandelve scowls as he attempts to finish off the tiger, but it is clear he would rather be pounding the wizard.

Lars manages to hit the large tiger, but all though it's having difficulties to keep his feet under him doesn't go down quite yet.

Clandelve's next attack how ever brings caves in the tiger's skill causing it release Charasii

So technically you could have a move left Clandelve..or you can keep pounding on the downed tiger to make sure it stays down for good

Kalaron jumps down into the pit and grabs hold of Shayla
(grapple to prevent you from running away for the next 2 rounds)

Against the onslaught of Lars, Clandelve and Charasii Togarin doesn't last long.

Shayla comes to her senses quickly after that and Kalaron let's go of her.

Togarin carried: A belt, a headband, 2 potions, an amulet, a cloak (all detect as magical if/when so checked) and a masterwork dagger, onyx gems (worth 300 gp)and 623 gp in coins

The corpse on the table has a glowing yellow sigil on his left hand and is wearing bracers (magical).

The tables nearby hold a breastplate and a belt (both magical).

I'll roll some spellcrafts when I am home later. Right now, will you let yup s count off CLW charges at 5 or 5.5 HP each to save rolling? Happy to help others who can't use their own wands, or don't have one. But this fight took a lot out of me, at least!

"Thank you," Shayla mumbles in Kalaron's direction, avoiding eye contact 'cause she's ashamed about her attempt to run away from the fight.

She sheaths her swords, takes her wand, and gets to healing herself.

Both potions are cure moderate wounds

The belt on the table is giant strength (+2), the breast plate is +2.

The other belt is mighty constitution (+2)
The headband is vast intellect (+2)

The amulet is natural armor (+1), the cloak is resistance (+2) and the bracers are of armor (+2).

I think everyone has the healing sorted out, so I'll give you some time to sort out how to distribute the items and decide where/what to go/do next.

Clandelve eyes the loot with glittering eyes.

I'm currently wearing a non-magical breastplate, so the +2 breastplate would be a big improvement for me. I also wouldn't mind the belt of mighty constitution, amulet of natural armor, or the cloak. I certainly am not asking for all of it, but those are the items I'm interested in if no one else could put it to better use. I already have a belt of giant strength.

"Thanks, Clandelve and stinky wizard," Shayla replies when the two comment on the loss of Akeyra II. "I hope I'll be able to find a new companion some time in the near future. Preferably one that won't leave me as soon."

"If no one minds I'll take the belt that increases constitution. Akeyra by the way wore an amulet of mighty fists. If someone wants to borrow it till we leave this place, be my guest."

After equipping the belt, Shayla puts on the headband of vast intellect. Her eyes grow two sizes when the headband imparts its effect on her.

"Everything is so much clearer now!" Shayla exclaims. "I see it! I see it all, haha!"

Shayla retrieves the hands she cut off of the undead earlier. "Both left hands have blue sigils, and there's one right hand with a red sigil. The corpse on the table has a yellow sigil, the only color we didn't yet have!"

She moves over to the corpse and uses one of her swords to cut off the hand with the yellow sigil. "The statues at the start had these sigils on them. Placing these hands in the statues may trigger something! Though... I'm weary of passing that creepy place in the hallway again... I have a feeling we almost died there..."

"Shall we first check the doors in this room, and see where they lead us? Or shall we go back and try thing with the sigils and statues? It's a gamble either way."

After healing up and distributing the found items you examine the northwest door in this room to find out it's unlocked and not trapped, you open and reveal:

This extravagant bedroom features a bed flanked by nightstands, two wardrobes against the walls near the center of the room, a couch and low table, and a large tiger-pelt rug.

As soon as you open the door the large tiger pelt animates as a shroud upon a spectral form, almost as if the essence of the skinless tiger you just killed is giving it some sort of force or energy to take it revenge on you.

Lars distracts the tiger pelt with the tip of his spear so that it will find it more difficult to hit Clandelve.

Clandelve smashes into the animated tiger pelt twice with his hammer, but his shield fails to penetrate the magic shield that's animating the tiger pelt (doesn't hit AC, it has a deflection bonus and some natural armor) the blows he did deliver seem to be softer then you'd normally expect (the force animating the tiger pelt is incorporeal)

Archibald doesn't hurl himself forward as there isn't any space for him to be.

Shayla goes into a flurry of attacks and manages to nick the tiger pelt twice.

Swinging around the corner Charasii manages to hit the tiger pelt..or rather the force animating the tiger pelt with his morning star

@Clandelve, if it's your intention to bull rush something away..you can just try to shield slam it twice and use your hammer once. As far as I know you can decide what your offhand is every round, it's not fixed..so you could use your shield as primary attack and use it twice.

okay, I was under the impression attacks always occurred highest to lowest, starting w primary. I did want to bull rush to get more space, so if I could do shield twice I would. Thx

I can still fit him in using his rolls in case Charasii wants to take a 5ft step after his attack, since his attack will help you guys..but not kill the creature

Kalaron swings his longaxe over Clandelve's and Shayla's heads trying to slice the force animating the tiger pelt apart

but having to be careful to not cut of any party members heads his fails to connect hard enough to deal any damage (doesn't hit AC)

The spectral force animating the tiger pelt rises one paw and tries to touch 1S2C: 1d2 ⇒ 1 Shayla

To hit touch AC Shayla: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

hitting her and the touch feels like the life energy is being drained from her body which seem to strengthen the force inside the tiger pelt

Negative level:

Clandelve then slams his hammer once into it but it's deflected when he goes back for more..he then manages to slam the pelt back a step with his shield.

Assuming people will move into the room to be able to attack..there's room for 2 people..going with Archibald since he readied to jump in before..and Shayla..I'll assume you guys coordinated this so Charasii would make his attack before Clandelve bashes the thing back
